Ойын-сауық
We’re doing some gun spinning today called the Bill Akins Spin originally created and perfected by @BillAkinsProduction
It is sort of like the Curly Bill Spin or the Road Agent’s Spin. Which you can watch here:

That is really very cool! You and Bill Akins both make this look so easy. While growing up I would spend probably too much time gun-spinning. I loved doing it and actually got pretty good at it, but only much later did I realise that spinning what were essentially toy guns (even metal ones) is really nothing like spinning the real thing. So I recently got myself a Uberti 1873 Colt replica with Army grips and 5.5" barrel that I've absolutely have fallen in love with. The only problem is that I'm having to completely "relearn" how to spin properly. These guns are heavy! I think I'd better start with baby steps, cheers!

Well thank you very much for the kind words my friend! And keep working at it! Spinning a real one or a properly weighted replica is exhausting! That’s a whole lot of steel taking up very little space! Haha

@@SaintAndrewTV Ha! Yes, I had no idea. Being a guitarist, I thought my hands were pretty tough. Guess they're not gun-spinning tough! ;-)
This is actually the reverse draw Ive always done with my toy revolvers and now my real one without even knowing about this spin, neato!
Interesting....I'll have to work on this one. Looks fun.

Thank you!
The draw I find interesting is in Clint Eastwood’s The Outlaw Jose Wales. He is faced with two very skanky mountain men in a trading post. The pistol grips are in an inverted position, the pistols then roll over, reverse into the firing position. I have heard also of of a “border roll” and a “border switch”, the way I understand this it involves moving the “off hand” loaded gun to the shooter’s “favored” hand, and the empty gun to the shooter’s “off” hand. This seems to be quite a feat to me, juggling two firearms in such a manner.
You make those tricks look easy smooth....it ain't your 1st rodeo....😁

I never heard of bill akins, but thats the wsy i did it in the 50s when I was into fast draw....
I 've always known such as "The Border Roll," particularly when you're handing your pistol to your adversary in surrender thereof. I like your videos. Good stuff, amigo!

Thank you friend! Hope you continue to enjoy!
I do a similar one but the holster is in a cross draw position (on the front left side of the hip) and draw with my left hand using my index to pull the revolver out.
Lee Van Cleef used that in " The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly"
In the movie, American Outlaws, Frank James use this move to draw both pistols at the same time prior to going into the bank.

Do you think you could do a draw video with black powder revolver like a colt 1851 navy, 1860 army, or 1858 Remington?

Oh 100%! I do not have a black powder revolver, but it is in the plans for the future. And when I do get one, I’ll make a video! Thanks for watching!

That’s what my thought was. I only have 4 3/4” barrel pistols, but it definitely feels that way!
Reminiscent of a Wild Bill Elliot western.
I think Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead has his gun in that type of way, but the holster is on his left side backwards.
Can you cover the spinning trick into the cross draw holster from your intro??

I do these draws and tricks with a model 3 schofield and it's sometimes very uncontrollable because of its weight and length

As long as it’s not loaded.
Bill's draw looks different. He doesn't appear to 'flip' it on the draw, but does when reholstering.

Welcome aboard, my friend!
I have ancestors that were outlaws there names were the Smiths
For as many people that needed up going west..at one point..a lot of people left the jumping off point in Kansas City or St.Joe, Missouri..on their way to California..with most seeing good grazing land or fertile ground for plowing..with a good team to scratch out a living..but for the tens of thousands that ended up out there, some firing of guns happened, but few actual gunfights..Wyatt would usually just crack them over the head and haul them off to a cell..The Johnson County War..corruption and greed..glorified..the west was wild because most places had no laws or law enforcement..Most judges were circuit judges who might show up every few months..no jails…throw them in a storage shed..til the judge happened by..it was not romanticized..life itself was pretty boring day to day..no one went looking for a gunfight..
Can you do it akimbo?

I don't know a whole lot about drawing guns but this doesn't seem too practical. Is this just for show or is there actually a practical reason for this?
@SaintAndrewTV
Жыл бұрын
Just for show. It’s had no practicality to it. Just in good fun as long as you’re safe.
In international law, an isolated member of the armed forces or members of a formation who surrender are considered hors de combat and must not be made the object of attack. Feigning surrender is an act of perfidy and is therefore forbidden. In the context of war, perfidy is a form of deception in which one side promises to act in good faith (such as by raising a flag of truce) with the intention of breaking that promise once the unsuspecting enemy is exposed (such as by coming out of cover to take the "surrendering" prisoners into custody). Perfidy constitutes a breach of the laws of war and so is a war crime, as it degrades the protections and mutual restraints developed in the interest of all parties, combatants and civilians. -Wikipeda

Well first off your mom & dad had to meet and find each other attractive, then they got married, and decided to have a you, which involved them in the act of copulation, many times over to make sure. Then 9 months later your mom was taken to a maternity hospital where after some strain and likely some cussing out popped little old you. I hope you are now knowledgeable of how you got here. It was my pleasure to explain. You're welcome. 🤗
