I've switched from a logitech g29 to a csl elite. Wow what a difference I loved my g29 but the csl is on a completely other level

Nice video! As a long time CSL user I think u nailed it. The lighter and smaller diameter p1 wheel does produce the best ffb for sure.

This was a great review much appreciated, you went into great detail and you explained for things that others didn’t thank you. I just got me pedals and load cell yesterday and I’m waiting for the wheel and base for the PS4. I have a G29 and I can’t wait to set the CSL Elite up. I love how I can buy things separately and mix things up like different pedals or wheel rims.

@@iamzeusandthisisthetruth4229 I have been using the CSL elite with Load Cell 2 months now and I absolutely love it more than my G29. The load cell does take some getting used to it’s definitely different than the G29 brakes. But if you do go load cell, give it some time to get the hang of it. The Steering wheel feels great immediately in my opinion. I also purchased the GT omega wheel stand because the load cell is a much stronger brake so that can really help with load and stuff when pressing down on the pedal. Overall I really love my CSL elite over my G29. The quality is really good and worth the upgrade.

I like how my V3s look and perform but I really love how clean and stealthy these pedals are. If I was thinking about getting into sim racing for the first time I’d get this setup. If I couldn’t afford it I’d wait till I could.

Thomas alcantara addiction mentioned, therefore 10/10 review.

One thing I will say is that it took a lot more work with my TS-PC racer to make it feel as smooth and nice as the fanatec offerings. I don't know what the difference really is but the fanatec wheels are super smooth compared to the Thrustmaster. I always need dampening on a thrustmaster wheel whereas the fanatec ones are just smooth out of the box.

This wheel is just out of my pocket range, but i like it anyways!

I have this wheel and pedal set w the load cell. I’ve been using it for over a year and I’m mostly very happy with it. A few things to note however: the right (upshift) paddle lost that nice positive click after about 6 months of almost daily use. It still functions but the click is gone. Also, I purchased the Fanatec shifter and the 6 pin connector in the back of the wheel constantly loses the connection/will randomly disconnect to the point that I don’t bother trying to hook it up anymore. Lastly, the rubber spacers on the load cell tend to split if you really stomp on the brake and after half a dozen emails trying to order replacements, Fanatec stopped responding and I gave up. Still very much enjoy using the wheel but definitely some issues with build quality and customer support.

The support team will never intentionally stop responding, there must be an explanation for that. Sometimes messages are interrupted by spam filters, for example. I suggest that you try to reply directly to last email you received from the support team, or try creating a new support ticket. Our team will be happy to resolve all of the issues you've described.

I have a 'click' story to tell. My shifters only had one side that had the nice positive click from the moment I got it out of the box. I contacted Fanatec and sent them a small video clip of the problem. They seemed to be treating me like I would come to expect for someone who had just spent near on £1000 with them and they asked me to return it for repair. I was impressed; I had heard horror stories about the customer service of Fanatec but so far so good. Fast forward to receiving my wheel back only to find that instead of repairing the non clicking paddle they took the decision to remove the click from the working side. I was (and still am after 4/5 months) fuming at them and got in touch with them straight away. They then took the line that the paddles should in fact not click and that the click was the fault!! On their website it advertised the click as a feature. I was told I could get a refund or live with it. Fanatec make some pretty good products but it is absolutely crystal clear that there is a level of banditry in the way that they do business and how they treat their customers. Caveat emptor.

@@SeeWildlife Hi Matt, I've looked up your case on our system, and we did not 'remove the click' from the working side, we replaced the entire steering wheel. It is possible that your original unit had an unusually pronounced 'click' on one side, and that the one you received as a replacement is a more normal example. But you should be receiving new communication from the support team today to discuss this further.

@@domb_fanatec2826 excellent Dom, thanks for keeping up the same story. I know you replaced the wheel. For one that has no clicks. I suspect whatever mechanism (Snapdome™?) Isn't up to scratch and rather than find something robust enough to replace failed or failing units you just quietly remove the thing altogether. Zero effect on functionality but a great loss to satisfaction when shifting. 'Customers won't suspect a thing' is how I imagine the proposed solution at the Fanatec meetings went.

I thought it was a direct drive. But knowing its a belt drive, I guess people should know a decent budget wheel that is pretty good is the thrustmaster t300rs gt.

Does the three pedal manual set up connect with the CSL elite wheel hub easy and does it all connect with the PS4 easy? As PS4 uses a USB for peripherals and the fanatic site goes in about having the right connectors?

Did you buy the wheel and pedals? If so, can you simply plug in to PS4 , select game and go into settings to change force feedback etc? Or do you have to connect both wheel and pedals to pc first, to calibrate?

About that 5 degrees slant at default position - have you tried to calibrate it? Calibrate button you can find on your driver's window (I think it is a second tab, or when you enter config menu on steering wheel press both jogs in position when you think it is 0. I had that issue and it requires a quite few calibrations as during calibration your hands will try to turn a wheel a little bit.

The internals of the CSL Elite and CSW 2.5 are actually very different. Watch Sim Racing Garage, he takes them apart. CSL Elite has a lot of plastic inside, the CSW's build quality is much higher.

@@grahamkelly8662 as far as I know the button layout is all the same minus the ps4 or Xbox button being moved. It also has the semi quick release on it. Either set up is great I love my fanatec wheel.

does this wheel work with all PS4 games? any issues with the less popular titles?

Load cell up to 90kgs! OMG mine is only 20kgs, hard mounted I can only just maintain full braking force! I don't think I'd be much good with 90kgs, it's probably more than I weigh 🤣

Lol! I don't think you would use all 90kg, you would adjust the max load you expect to be 100% braking force and go on that. F1 drivers have like 100kg brake pressure applied but that's because the g forces help them as well.

Do you think this is a good upgrade for Logitech G29? I do some sim racing and some sim drifting. I'm not too hardcore and enjoy both casually, and since this is belt driven, I assume it should perform better than the dual-motor FFB.

It isna big upgrade but if not hard-core racer your best upgrade for any racer is a great set of loadcell pedals , mind u with a dd wheel you do get alot more feed back

This blows the g29 out of the water, there’s a reason for the price difference, it’s much smoother, stronger, more responsive and accurate than the g29. If you have the cash then go for it.

Yes. I mounted a CSW v2 on the Challenge and it is good enough for it. The challenge is quite solid in the right direction so you don't lose too much. Obviously you are better off with a more sturdy rig but it is better than a desk.

The wheel rim? I think so. You'd need to connect it via the universal wheel hub. But then none of the buttons would work. But you can't just unscrew the wheel off a G29 base and connect it to the CSL Elite base if that's what you're asking. Totally different proprietary hardware there.

Random, as someone who has used both the CSL pedals and the CSR elite pedals. Do the CSL elite pedals give you enough to make it worth a $200 upgrade. I'm considering getting a CSL wheel base, but am not sure if I really want to upgrade my CSR elite pedals yet.

Honestly, not really. As long as your CSR elites work, going CSL is an upgrade but I'd be reluctant to spend the money because the upgrade isn't that big of a leap. And I'm saying this as someone that has a fanatec affiliate link.

I ordered mine 10/30/19 (pedals) and never recieved them (US)FEDEX made off with my shipment with a bogus signature(I DID NOT SIGN) I dont recommend ordering in the US as fanatec refuses to ship with any other carrier.

Yeah, FedEx sucks. I got my order but they fucking took forever. One part of my package sat in Ohio for 3 days. Just got it yesterday. The second part has been sitting in Illinois for the last 3 days with delivery expected in 2 days. Hopefully this one shows up as well. Fanatec sent out my V2 wheel, APM shifters, CSL pedal set, and the load cell kit before they sent out the PS4 P1 bundle. What the hell kind of logic is that? I got everything except for the main part that makes everything work.

It's not leatherette on the wheel. It's real leather.

is it noisier then G290?

Fanatec dont sell that wheel base anymore so its not the best offer. You need to get your video up to date.

Well, he probably has never driven a race car so he probably just sets it up the way he actually drives everyday to make it comfortable. It's like saying, "Hey, most race cars drive around a race track outside. You have your rig set up in a room in your house. That's wrong." We're just grown men playing video games with a wheel. There's no right or wrong way to do it.

If you are car racing games on a ps4 then just stick to controller that's all it's good for
