Been driving mine for over 2 years now, love it

i upgraded from a g29 set to the GT DD Pro with all extras and also didnt wanna downgrade so i also bought the clubsport shifter. actually had no idea that this was a new product, i just added it out of fomo. the update 439 preceded the arrivel of my dd pro, so i never had issues with the shifter. i will say its quite heavy and big, so you need to figure out where to mount it to get a accurate position for it relative to your seat but im super happy with it. before i saw it i never thought there was a shifter that could switch between 8speed and sequential on the fly, the fact that you can bind the sequential mode to emulate the paddles is also a plus in some games. i cant say i have any complaints, except the switch is sometimes a bit hard to move, id recommend this to anyone who drives road cars or rally cars

Does this function any different than the Fanatec mag paddle shifters on my csl club sport wheel in iracing? A friend who has this said he could preload a shift up/down and release the handle and on throttle blip the gear would change. With my paddles, I would need to hold the up paddle until I blipped the throttle for the gear to change. Mainly trying Nascar cars/tracks like the next gen 6 cars. On a Nascar road course, I'm having trouble downshifting with the paddles without blipping the throttle or waiting until the RPMs are lower. Curious if the sequential shifter mode behaves this way. @Danny Lee ive a question, what mountingplate for the shifter u use? ive a alusimrig too but i cant find a good shifter mounting plate for it. thx for anny infos.

I bought this shifter for my sim rig that uses a Fanatec GT7 DD Wheelbase. Out of the box, the shifter has not worked right in H-mode. I use a PS5 console and am not sure if the driver and firmware updates apply to me. I would love to be able to actually use the shifter for more than sequential, but not sure what to do.

Did you buy you shift from fanatec directly, if so was there a (hidden) shipping cost from DHL like I had when I ordered my CSL DD?

Yep, it was amongst a batch of things I'd ordered - the UK Tax is payable when it reaches UK shores, which has caught a few people out. I did a video on this to try and make folks aware: kzread.info/dash/bejne/q5Wfksmjns_ckZM.html

Moving from H pattern to sequential requires a ton of effort. Almost to the point in which I think the shifter will break. Yes..I have it in neutral when I switch.

Check the metal bearing housing on the inside. While it is well machined it can sit at a slight angle offset that can cause the mechanism in the bottom of the shifter to face quite some resistance upon trying to engage the teeth that limit movement to just forwards and backwards.

If you just wanted an H pattern what would you recommend for use with CSL DD & Clubsport pedals? I can't see me using the sequential feature not when I've got paddles. Is the construction of this worth paying for over a cheaper H pattern only? Thanks

If you just want H-pattern (on PC), check out the Moza Shifter - it's in my recent videos. Way cheaper and really good if you just need H pattern.

Does this work with the gran turismo dd pro in Beamng drive please?

Yes. That's what the sequential shift option is for. It's a lever on the bottom of the device that shoves in a set of teeth that limits the H-pattern to forwards and backwards movement by only engaging 3rd and 4th gear. This switch also engages a microswitch that electrically tells a suited Fanatec base (not well versed in them, just bought mine a little bit less than a month a go) that it's in sequential shift mode.

I got the same issue, down to n gear automatic when I am playing, is it update the new drive for wheelbase only ?

I think so - update your PC drivers and then run the firmware update manager

It needs to connect directly to a Fanatec Wheelbase to work, it will not work if connected with the Fanatec USB adapter.

@@daleholte7234 you're welcome. I researched the same thing on Google and also found out that through the Fanatec wheelbase the shifter has bit more delay than it does connected to the USB adapter on a PC.

What’s the shift into 7th gear like? Is it a pain in the ass pushing down like in reverse? I don’t know why Fanatec made it that way. Regardless, I’ve ordered one but have to wait until mid June for it to ship

You'll never use 7th, but it's not a pain to do.

As SRE says, you'll only need 7th if you're playing Traction Engine simulator 1762. But generally it's not hard or awkward, pushes down and over with no trouble.

I love that feature, keeps you from accidentally shifting to seventh when you want fifth. Unlike the thrust master shifter which is very vague and easy to mis-shift.

Check if the bearing housing that holds the rod in place is sitting at a slight angle (you need to open up the top and look at the chunky aluminium parts that hold the bearings, while these are pretty well machined they can sit at a slight offset causing the switching mechanism in the bottom to face quite some resistance). I have read people having issues with the mechanism in the bottom itself, but that wasn't the problem on mine, and in some of the video's I have seen, the aluminium parts that hold the shift-stick were the problem, so you might want to take a look at those. Use some good hexagonal tools by the way: those aluminium parts are tightened down well and secured with LocTite.

Can it be used with csl elite ps4 combo ?

Yep - it's listed as compatible with the CSL Elite and is PS Ready so you should be fine

Mine likes to mis-shift. Like it'll read 3rd as 5th, or 4th as 6th. [sarcasm]Real nice for a 300+ dollar shifter [/sarcasm]

@@dannyleeracing Yep. Latest firmware, Perfectly calibrated, but it only does it maybe once out of every 75 shifts. Still unacceptable for how much the thing costs.

@This Guy yeah, sequential works fine. Fanatec customer "service" is so bad i wouldn't even bother. A year on and the problems gotten worse. I would not recommend.

It could be a bit distracting to those under you unless you do a very good job of isolating your equipment from the floor. That's doable, just takes effort and expense!

@@dannyleeracing I use mine in an apartment, I have it mounted to a table that I took a long time wedging into a corner and securing to my desk so that it wont wobble. It makes noise but honestly the speakers are louder than the shifter so I don't even think about it.

to be fair given the many known issues, ergonomics, and (over)price for overall performance and quality it's probably the worst shifter you can buy. It's not worth it. Also Fanatec customer support service sucks ass. Just get another shifter like a moza or SHH. Thank me later

I bought one of these 3 months ago. Absolute rubbish. Already had to do 1 RMA and it doesn't even feel good. The "clunk" between gears is about as numb and dull as can be, and the amount of resistance is pathetic for how much I paid.

​@@sre6159change the shaft to a shorter shaft from Simmakerz and add a rubber grommet o ring for the shaft and this thing comes close to the real feel.
