Truly Americas band. There wasn't one thing missing from this Musical Performance. No other band can put on this type of show.
FAMU then, FAMU now, FAMU FOREVER!! Forever in our hearts Robert Champion!!
RIP ROBERT CHAMPION
Watching in 2019 and they sound great
This Band has such a rich history, in Florida, there is documented history that this band was involved in civil rights movements in Jackson County and beyond. Its more than sad what happened to one of its member. But this is my alma mater and my band, maintain your integrity and greatness for the sake of the alumni and Dr. Foster!! FAMU 88 Dr.Lori

RIP ROBERT CHAMPION U WERE APART OF A LEGACY ..
First I need to say R.I.P. to Mr. Champion, all though you are gone you will never be forgotten, your name will forever be in people's mouths, because of what happened to you on the night of November 11, 2011. and what has been done about it after you have been gone. You should be very proud of all of the fighting that has been done for you by both your mother and father in order for this to never happen again to another student and so that another family will not have to go through this type of situation. November 23, the Rattler's band will return to Orlando to face the Wildcat's band for the first time sine that night, May God be with both bands.

R.I.P Robert Champion
The "Hundred" has earned it's title as "Amercia's Band". Often imitated but never duplicated. Remember Dr Foster changed the half time shows with elegance and style. He started it all and everybody followed. Pure Genius!!!! No one can ever take away FAMU's Greatness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! End of story. bottom line to the haters!!!!!!!!!!! It started in T town. The last word in Music and Tradition!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lOVE YALL

I FEEL YOU REBE GIRL, YOU SAID IT ALL!!!!
@alpo1410 Finally, folks may not want to hear this but truth is hazing is a 2 way street. No-one can force you to get hazed that would be illegal, but you volunteer for that action. When I marched in the band hazing was going on but I made a choice whether I was going to be apart of it or not even when I pledge my fraternity I made a choice. Unfortunately this young man made a bad choice that cost him his life. Life is full of choices.
I don't know where you are getting your information from he did not get hazed for the band. He was already a drum major so he was in the band. He got hazed for a gang in the band called Bus C. which was a stupid choice on his part. See people are upset at him being dead unfortunately, the sad reality is he chose to go thru that situation. Bus C was going on when I marched in the band but I chose not to join it. It's a indiviual's decision what he/she will go thru.
They sound good
From a TnSU Tiger.....Gonna miss seeing the "100" this year!
YEah I agree. This is not a time to throw stones. I'm easily annoyed by people who act like they're perfect people or "holy rollers" anyway.
I keep reading all of these post some positive and some negative, a person lost his life two parents lost their child, a child they sent off to a school he had to love, instead of receiving their child back the way they sent him there, he came home in a box, with no degree, they only have pictures of their child. It is true he was a grownup and was capable of making grownup decisions, but seriously how many of us can say for sure if he would have had any idea that this would have happened that night, he would have still made that choice? He had no idea and the people who did this had no idea, nobody meant for this to happen. If any of them was capable of changing this out come we would not be making these posts. As for the parents trying to sue it is to be expected, they are hurt they lost their child they want everybody that they can make feel their pain, feel it, cause no amount of money will bring their baby back. Just like no matter what type of comments negative or positive will bring him back, I am not really sure of how many people will get upset by this but I don't feel like it was fair to punish the whole band, for the bad choices made by a few, most of these kids came to school to be in this band, what about all of them that was not allowed to march their last year in school. So can we please try and be positive about a bad thing that happened?

they did that
i grew up ther
This isnt all of them. About 50 got suspended before da classic.
Jazzlife stop responding to that "OUTSIDER" you don't have to defend anything to that guy....he will never understand....I wasn't in tha band but I am an Alum and evrybody know bout Bus C....Although very tragic what happened to Robert, getting hazed is definitely a choice, and some people will never understand that...and above all tha hundred and the legacy of tha hundred will never die!!!!!!#RATTLER4LIFE!!!!!!
My God My God, I saw some Holy Ghost up in there up in there!
Hubba'Rob
Tubas all day well sousas
sad one of the DMs died!
@jazzlife1 so da school isnt bad i can understand dat but ....r u aying that only a few sections were hazing so thats kinda funny i couldve sworn that famu was deep in hazing its not the hazing im talkin bout its the extreme hazing that some people who joined the band went through i understand they had a choice to perticipate in it if dey
I don't think that this is ALL of them.
This is a good arrangement, but I wouldn't say it's the best out there, and I also wouldn't consider FAMU America's Band." That being said it is a very good arrangement and FAMU has a great sound. It's a shame to see what FAMU is going through. Hopefully they won't have too much trouble bouncing back. They are one of the top 5 HBCU bands and top 10 college bands in general.
thats a small football field!!!!!!!
@alpo1410 See you have the wrong information. 1st he's a drum major which means he's an upperclassmen band member so he shouldn't be getting hazed. Hazing is geared toward freshmen. 2nd he was not hazed for the band he was hazed for a group called "BUS C" which is a gang that some former band members started. 3rd folks may not want to hear this but, the truth is hazing is illegal so someone should be arrested.
@alpo1410 Our school and band has a zero tolerence policy against hazing so it's unfair for you to sterotype our school like that. Other schools have had hazing incidents but you can't sterotype the whole school for the actions of a few indiviuals. The only difference between FAMU and other schools, is our school was in the media. No one said anything about the shooting at a fraternity party at Florida State around the corner from FAMU around the same time bet you didn't know that?
maybe if famu would stop fuckin hazin then ROBERT CHAMPION could be wit them now>>
What did I just watch and why?

Jesus Walks Over 100 years of tradition
@jazzlife1 didnt dey were considerd not apart of the section but did they deserve it doh was it worth sending people to the hospitial dis man lost his life for wanting to join a great band he didnt deserve dying and other colleges do it but dat shouldnt be an excuse to do it. if im in class and i through paper in the class cuz im being a follower and i get caught i cant say dey did it to and try to make a excuse take responsiblity fr yur bands anctions
datt aint famu becoz Sheldon( fall guy) coltrain say: they would neva due know shit like that!~
@PWSAX2011 ok i can understand dat ...wat i meant was dat famu could lead in example of hbcu..they are mor popular and den gt noticed but he should be an example to all hbcu dat hazing can kill and should nt be allowed in any band im srry if i affended any bdy but if some bdy put dey foot down and said dats enough in all situations in all bands den dis wont happen again...
Bus C is not the band. It's not even part of the band program nor is it sanctioned by the band. So get your information straight before you go off on a tangent on inconclusive information published by media and rumors. Because I bet you didn't know that the family since this incident wanted to sue the band but couldn't because it has nothing to do with the band and sad to say Mr. Champion chose to go through this ordeal. Sadly it was at the risk of his life.
