Andrija Mohorovčić ... should definitely be mentioned. Famous meteorologist and seismologist. Mohorovičić made the greatest contribution to science with the discovery of discontinuities in the Earth's crust. Through a very thorough study of the Pokupsko earthquake of October 8, 1909, 39 kilometers southeast of Zagreb, Mohorovičić determined that at a certain depth of the Earth, the speed of propagation of the seismic wave changes rapidly, which he attributed to changes in the composition of the Earth's crust at a depth of 54 kilometers, at the location measurements in Pokupski. Numerous later studies have proven the existence of the boundary surface (speed discontinuity surface) of the uppermost part of the Earth and in other areas of our planet, so this surface was named Mohorovičić's discontinuity, or Moho for short, in his honor. It has been shown that the thickness of the Earth's crust, or the depth of the Mohorovicič discontinuity, is not the same everywhere and that it changes from place to place.

Nikola Tesla was a Serbian-American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, and futurist was born an ethnic Serb in the village of Smiljan, within the Military Frontier, in the Austrian Empire on 10 July 1856.His father, Milutin Tesla (1819-1879)was a priest of the Eastern Orthodox Church. Tesla's mother, Đuka Mandić (1822-1892), whose father was also an Eastern Orthodox Church priest, had a talent for making home craft tools and mechanical appliances and the ability to memorize Serbian epic poems. Đuka had never received a formal education. Tesla credited his eidetic memory and creative abilities to his mother's genetics and influence. Tesla's ancestors were from western Serbia, near Montenegro.

Tesla was born on the 10th of July 1856 the Parish of Gospic in an Austrian Empire (1804-1867), and was baptized 3 months later in the Eastern Orthodox Church of St. Peter and Paul (the Old Slavonic Church rite) next to the family home in an Austrian Empire, today (from 1918) part of Croatia (Smiljan, Lika). His father, Milutin Tesla, was born in the village of Raduc on February 3, 1819. He was a priest of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Smiljan and later in Gospic, Tesla's mother, Georgina Đuka Tesla was born in the village Tomingaj in 1822 into the family of Serbian orthodox priest Nikola Mandić (1800-1863), after whom Tesla got his name. Nikola Tesla had 3 sisters: Milka, Angelina, and Marica, and an older brother named Dane. Nikola Tesla obtained an Austrian national citizenship in 1856 - 1867, Croatian-Slavnonian local citizenship in 1861 - 1867, Croatian-Hungarian national citizenship/Croatian - Slavonian local citizenship in 1867 - 1891 and finally he obtained his American citizenship on the 30th of July 1891. Tesla was Austro-Hungarian by ”nationality” and Serbian by cultural heritage, so the "official nationality" of Tesla was "Hungarian" from 1867. This is just a label the authorities agreed on in the Austro-Hungarian Compromise of 1867, it doesn't mean he had anything to do with Hungary. His ethnicity was Serbian, more specifically, his family was descended from the Serbs who had moved to the Austrian Empire in the late 17th century, escaping from the Ottomans, it is not sure that from 1867 Tesla's nationality would be Hungarian, if he did not acquired Austrian citizenship earlier, only from 1879 it would be possible. After the establishment of the Austro-Hungarian kingdom in 1867, Croatia became part of Hungary until the collapse of Austria-Hungary in 1918 following its defeat in World War I. On Oct. 29, 1918, Croatia proclaimed its independence and joined in union with Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia to form the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes. The name was changed to Yugoslavia in 1929. In Croatia, from 1941 to 1945, many members of the Nikola Tesla family were killed, and 11 of his closest relatives, three women and eight men, were killed in the concentration camp Jasenovac. Tesla's house in Smiljan, Croatia where he was born, was during the Yugoslav Wars burned down, but it where restored and reopened in 2006. On 7 January 1943, at the age of 86, Tesla died alone in Room 3327 of the Hotel New Yorker. It was Nikola Teslas last wish, that his ashes should be in Belgrade or anywhere in Serbia, also by his last will, he left everything he owned to the USA and Serbia (papers, stuff, plans, documents and diaries.). After death, his body was cremated and the ashes sent to Belgrade in 1957, since then, they have been on display inside a gold sphere at the Nikola Tesla Museum. Nikola Tesla was a Serbian American inventor who declared himself as "Serbian from Croatia". Globally, Tesla held more than 300 patents. In addition to his 112 U.S. patents, Tesla's patents totaled 192 in 26 other countries, some are: Tesla Coil, Radio, Induction Motor, alternating current (AC) and the shadowgraph etc.

One more interesting thing about Nikola Tesla is that his father, Milutin ( old Serbian name) was an orthodox priest, and his mother Georgina also came from an orthodox priest's family. Nikola had gambling problems when he was young, and he had unexplainable psychic conditions (visions ) For his funeral in America he requested a popular Serbian patriotic song from First World War named "Tamo daleko".

Both Tesla and Bošković are Serbs. Bošković's father's name was Nikola, and they converted to Catholicism, because it allowed social mobility in the Catholic environment. And to be precise, Tesla could not have been born in Croatia, because Croatia did not exist then, but he was born in Austria-Hungary, and was a citizen of that country, he received a scholarship from kaiser Franz Joseph for his studies as a citizen, so no Croatia, and his parents his father and mother are pure Serbs, and his father is a Serbian Orthodox priest. Also, those Croats who declare him a Croat killed the entire family of Nikola Tesla from Lika, because they were Serbs, and they demolished the house where he was born.
