Don’t worry about not pulling out a good number of big fish for the viewers. From my point of view the enjoyment is seeing how you’re fishing and thinking, seeing the environment - the wildlife, the plants - simply what’s going on. You’ve a nice style.

I was at that spot a few weeks back. The water was a little murky, but still, great days spinning regardless. I had the whole stretch to myself so worked that whole coastline. Once the weather improves I will surely be back.

Good one Matt! 5.30am?? After 20+ years of working nights, that's bedtime mate! 😁😁 Some lovely marks & scenery there, and some good info on the lures for those of us that have not done much lure fishing. You caught more fish in that session than I have so far this year - due to the Corona virus, health issues, and my car being currently in dry dock, I haven't got out yet! Thanks for the uploads - stay safe & well.

Thanks for sharing your adventures, i really enjoy them, they are clear and also honest. I’m new to fishing and wanted to understand a bit about tide. I try to pick up from conversations online but the fisherman lingo are sometimes not very clear. It would be nice if you could make a video about tides, and what is flood tide, spring tide, the best tide times and season to fish. I sometimes also see people saying 2 hours after low and things like that...Would be very much appreciated. Thank you

With those clear waters and calm and quiet sea with sunshine, you must choice only spinning in the daw, night or sunset....Sea bass in the day only hunt witth massive little sardines or other smal fishs.....Or if you have waves up one half metter and wave periodes of 11 , 12 metters by second... Sea bass is a night hunter and during the day is under dark rocks, resting and sleepping.......

Thanks for your thoughts , Bass can be very active at times in bright daylight particularly at the top of the tide here. Sussex spring tides coincide with mid day and midnight roughly. I’ve fished here at night but it’s too dangerous out on the reefs. Thanks again I will have to try some night bassing.

Thank for your experience in England. I `m a sea angler from fifty years ago.I born and live near 200 meters from coast line in Porto, Portugal. And allways fish the bass by night with only two colours...Red and black...And one thing that i learn with old anciant fishermans is that the bass allways prefere sand by night.. For catch, clean the parasites, and for ,with quit and calm sea in the winter, in the months from December to February make the spaw... You need to find extense areas with sand, and search the little waves in the banks to catch them 10 meters from shore....we never spinning in the rocks at night... The bass are hunting in the mixed sand and litlle rocks around the sand... Its more easy, not so dangerous and the big ones are there... But choose only new moons, with the low cofficient between 0.70 and 0.80 , up of 1 metter to 1,5 m never go..The bass is not so active in low sea cofficiente...Never fish with full moon...The Bass is a lunatic fish....

Lovely walks on the outskirts of Eastbourne, Iv'e never done them but your video shows me I should. Your video also shows me I should try both lure and float fishing (something else I've never done) but if I want to enjoy the walk then I don't want to be carrying beach casting gear. When I eventually get back to Eastbourne I will definitely explore that area thanks to your video.

Hello chap I'm new to the channel although I have come across some of your videos before and I enjoy your work. I was wondering how you establish the flow or current especially when fishing sub surface lures. You mention to cast uptide and pull your lure with the tide but I have seen in some places that the current appears to be travelling in both directions around deeper pools and coming into channels etc. Any help would be appreciated.

  • @SaltwaterAngler

Hello! thanks for your comment. I’ve been thinking about the best way to describe this for a while now. I think the easiest way is to remember your lure is replicating a bait fish-so how does a bait fish move through said tide, where are the pinch points the Eddie’s and troughs. If you don’t know what to do - do nothing let the flow take the lure. Keep the lure at the depth required for as long as possible . I know that’s a bit of a cop out but really thinking like that bait fish being where a bass expects to find them is key
