I remember watching The Lawrence Welk Show growing up.

I remember my mom curling my hair every Sat. nite while we all watched the show. My daughter's nickname is "Tiny Bubbles" like the Don Ho song. She was not amused until one night when we were watching The Lawrence Welk show (yes, the only child her age who knows the show probably) and the cast started singing "Tiny Bubbles". She doesn't complain about the name now that she knows she has her own song! ha-ha. Have a great day Steve. Blessings - Judith

Yes, My Dad and Mom loved that show and watched every week. Us kids watched along too, but back then wasn't our cup of tea, but like you said, as we got older, i can apprciate those old shows, brings back good memories. I remember a lot of the performers on the show too. Remember Arthur Duncan, he was a african american gentlemen that was a great tap dancer. So many on there. Thanks for this video.

My mom loved The Lawrence Welk show and we watched it all the time. I continued to watch it as an adult and reruns are still on PBS.

My mom used to watch this every Sunday up til she passed away I used to love the Christmas shows you got to see the cast with there families

My grandmother loved the Lawrence Welk show. We would watch the show after dinner on Saturday night.

I love Lawrence's memorial marker. Definitely a nice tribute to him.

My mom (RIP) and I watched this together. It was her favorite show. My favorites were the Christmas shows where the entertainers would introduce their family members.

Watched both Lawrence [also my first name] and Mitch Miller with my late parents. Loved both shows. I'm 73 and remember these classic shows well!

It was my Mother's favorite show, watched it with Mom every Saturday. I love the bubbles!

In the mountains of West Virginia, every Saturday night at 7 with my great aunt and uncle in the ‘60s.

Bobby Burgess has been a longtime friend. I recall him sharing the story of Mr. Welk's burial service, the Welk show family gathered around his casket at the cemetery and sang the familiar song that closed out the show each week. "Good night, sleep tight, and pleasant dreams to you, here's a wish and a prayer that every dream come true. And now, till we meet again, adios, au revoir, auf weidersehen. Goodnight!" I always thought that was a perfect send off for him. Bob has always said when Lawrence Welk hired him for his show, he knew he was perfect for the job because he'd been raised by Walt Disney.

My grandmother and I shared this show together from my child hood through adult hood. She would gently away back and forth and tap her fingers in time to the band music , and marvelled at the dancing we also shared love of bonanza ( the Cartwright family ) her fav , she would scoot her chair right up to the tv screen so she could see ( she lost a good portion of her sight as she was the first female film editor I'm Hollywood . Editing in those days ment hours of staring at film as a bright light benith the film was glaring into her eyes , she never complained she loved it . ) You did not get film credit in those days she worked on 100s of silent films she had box's full of old film clips ( hence the name cutting room floor . )Lol she could cut your only scene from a move with the clip of her scissors , and she did, she said with a chuckle she saved several carers by doing so . Her other fav we shared was the wonderful world of Disney wow great loving sweet memory. Keep up the great videos , you trigger so many memories of times gone by , and of missed loved ones bless you keep it up respects John in ca.

I remember watching Lawrence Welk on Saturday evenings at my Grandmother's house back in the day. I can't watch the show now without crying. Wishing for just one more day with the grandparents.

As a young chap back in the 60's. I remember my Grandparents watching him. The most interesting part of the show, at least to me, was all of the bubbles that would fly up behind the band. Back then, Batman, Combat and Capt. Kangaroo were my shows.

Mr Lawrence Welk had a great life and will always be remembered; growing up we ofcourse watched his program on TV, as my parents instilled music in us and I really love the big bands to this very day ~

I watched to show almost every week with my parents in the 1970's. If you happened to be in a rest home on a Saturday evening, many of the TVs will be tuned to the Lawrence Welk Show reruns on the PBS Network.

Paper Doll was my favorite of the Mills brothers. Loved when they performed it with Dean Martin on his variety show!

I was raised watching this every week. I now watch reruns of it every Saturday night with my g'baby.😍

Remember the Geretol ads. Pete Fountain got his start on the show. Remember that wig Pete Fountain used to wear, brutal. Man could he play, one of the all time greats .Up there with Benny, Artie and Woody.

One show, his band was to play the Duke Ellington composition, "Take the A train". Welk, in his accented English, announced it as "Take a train", Very amusing.

When I was 5 , I stayed with my great grandparents. We watched Lawrence Welk every Saturday night. I still watch it every now and again on PBS. As a family we took our kids to see Lawrence Welk home in Strasburg ND

My mother danced with Myron Floren when she went to see LW in Santa Monica many years ago.

We watched it a lot as it was one of the first tv shows to be in color. It took a while for all the shows to come on in color.

I remember the Lawrence welk show very well! Every Saturday night it was hee-haw Lawrence welk,then liberace. Watched those shows for many years....another good one Steve! 👍👍🙂🙂

My Parents loved Lawerence Welk. Since we had only 1 tv, at 6 pm every Sunday we would sit and watch show with them. This is where I got my love for Big Band music and Ragtime music. My Parents used to dance to a song or two every once in a while. They were beautiful dancers. Thanks for the walk down Memory Lane!

To make it short and sweet I appreciate Lawrence Lawrence Welk of what he is or what The Lawrence Welk Show is very entertaining and whole and I enjoyed watching Lawrence Welk when I was a kid with my parents

The memories, wow the talent every week was amazing.I could watch all the shows over and over. A very special time.

Can you imagine your grandparents watching an episode of 90 Day fiancee or a Housewives of NJ or Atlanta with all the sex and cussing. On I love Lucy when they were in the bed they had to keep a foot on the floor. I wouldn't want those restrictions today but I would love some sense of decency in these shows or see them off the air all together.

Somehow I missed this one back in November! I remember every Saturday night, watching Lawrence Welk, dancing around the livingroom with my father. The names still roll off my tongue like family members--Myron Floren, Joe Feeney, Joanne Castle, Bobby and Sissy, Norma Zimmer (the Champagne Lady), I could go on and on. Thanks for the memory!!

Hey Steve you handsome devil you. I remember going over to my grandmother Majewski house on a Sunday and watching Lawrence on TV. As I got much older I started watching him. Kids now a days wouldn't even consider watching re runs of this.

I was raised on Lawrence Welk and loved his music and show even when I was a teen, I would often put off joining my friends at Church Youth Hut till after the Lawrence Welk Show.. TY for sharing with us. Take care on your travels.

I was blessed to have my greatgrandparents play a huge role in my first 18 years of my life. My great-grandfather was born in 1911 and grandmother in 1915. I was born In 81 and don't remember the show. But I do recall my greatgrandparents talking about this show. Thanks!!!

My grandmother would never miss his show. She used to say, “He’s such a handsome man and his show is so good.” I think she had a crush on him. 😂

I only remember about 5 performers from the show. The dancers Bobby and Cissy come to mind. and the token black guy dancer. My Dad loved the show and watched religously. It's nice he's still on TV. Timeless music and entertainment. Thanks Steve, another goodie.

My Dad and I still watch the show on Saturday night on our local PBS channel. It comes on right before the Antique Road Show.

I like Lawrence well, I like rap and hip-hop and R&B but I grew up watching Lawrence Welk my grandparents I appreciate what it is a good wholesome family show which they don't have anymore I think and I wish they would bring stuff back you know and I also miss the 80s

Used to watch every week with my parents in the 60s and 70s. My favorites were the Christmas and Halloween shows. Arthur Duncan, Ava Barber, Jo Ann Castle.

I had to watch every Saturday, only few choices, and one tv in the 60's, so the adults won! I remember the lady who played the piano! In the summer, we would go to an amusement park between New Beford and Fall River in MA, called Lincoln Park!! They had stage shows, that were free, and I actually saw her in person. I now cherish these times, because my Dad died when I was 11.

I remembered watching Lawrence Welk on Saturday Nights when I was4-6 years old with my Nanny and pop 🎶 🎹 RIP Lawrence Welk enjoy making Music in Heaven 🎶

Great Video Steve! I watched The Lawrence Welk show when it originally aired back in the late 1950s with my parents and grandparents. I then started watching it on PBS as its still being aired! Great memories, thanks again!

I watched as a youngster and on Sundays - so calm and wholesome.

When we lived in Atlanta, GA in the 1950's & 60's my father's parents lived with us. The only TV we had was in the living room & whenever "The Lawrence Welk Show" came on, no one would not dare say a word or enter the room, as they would get a big "shush". After we moved from Atlanta in 1964, my grandfather had died & my grandmother moved in with two of her daughter's. My father continued to watch that show & eventually watched the reruns on a PBS station. Thanks for reviving those memories, Steve, as my grandmother passed in December 1977 & my father in October 2004.

I was raised on this show. Loved the reruns of the show and the later reunion shows. Welk's band combined orchestra with instruments found in jazz groups and country music(he rocked and rolled too along with singing church standards).

Im surprised Lawrence didnt have a fancier head stone with plantings around it. I was born in 72 and even i know of lawrence welk and he was huge like Sinantra.

Funny two entirely different men. Wouldn't think of them in the same thought. Sinatra was definitely a big star much more so than Welk

I grew up watching the reruns with my grandparents on pbs in the early and mid 2000s my grandparents loved Lawrence welk it would be on at 6pm every night they never missed a episode i use to love watching the bubbles as a kid i would sit with my grandma on the couch and she would show me the bubbles whenever Lawrence welk came on stage i still watch clips of the show on KZread it brings back childhood memories growing up in the early and mid 2000s 😊

My grandmother use to watch Lawrence Welk religiously when i was in grade school.

Lawrence Welk was always fun. Such pop and brightness. Everyone smiling and dancing. And he would say "wunnerful" 😅

A great band leader and a great TV show I watched with my grandparents.

I still watch the Lawrence Welk show on weekends here in San Diego. My faves have to be Ken Delo, Anacani and Bobby Bridges. The Lennon Sisters were amazing too.

For a short time my grandfather played for Lawrence Welk When he was starting up.. grandma made him quit had four children to support. Not much money back then.. Miss my grandpa.. He played the violin very beautifully..
