There's no way this was random - the guy was there to intimidate or fight someone else to help out his younger brother, anyone whose gone to highschool in BC has seen scenes similar to this, just ending with a fistfight instead of a stabbing. Hopefully they catch the piece of trash responsible.

They know or have the suspect now its a matter of determining which charges they can press to get the maximum sentence in this case. They have to see if it was self defense, was it pre meditated, etc. Im kind of confused as to why youre asking me questions when the original commenter automatically assumed the victim was there to intimidate anyone. Speaking on behalf of a dead person as if they have a crystal ball, pre maturely assuming the victim is to somehow blame and was a bad person.

This is an isolated incident. But it isn't, is it? Hidden brewing personal conflicts exist everywhere. Everyone has a boiling point. And when the boiling point is reached, some people, not many, but some people, put their inner conflict into action. I lost my son in 2018 to a fentanyl overdose. And that was a death by his own actions. My love and support go to this family. I understand their grief and loss, and their shock and outrage too.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said it believes the suspect and victim knew one another, and that the killing wasn’t related to the ongoing regional gang conflict.

They have the killer in custody and they won’t tell the victim’s family who it is. It seems the criminals have all the rights.

1- they said the victim knew him so it is pretty safe to assume they know who it is 2- it was at a school the accused is probably underaged 3- technically he is considered innocent until he goes to trail and it is an on going investigation so details are not released 4- what is your point? What does it matter? What would you do with the person's name anyway?

If his brother went to the school it is likely that he also went to the same school recently. And even if he didn't then if you have brothers and sisters all around the same age then you would know that they would likely have the same friends or have similar people they know. So he was probably there to pick up his brother and probably knew people there. It was probably some type of disagreement amongst teens that got out of hand. Teens fight all the time. You seem to want to turn this tragic event into some type of big gang and drug related drama.

The transition to Surrey police needs to happen. 1. We need more resources directed toward gang shootings which rcmp is either unwilling or unable to do. 2. Mike Farnsworth just said Surrey would be on the hook for paying 300 employees of SPF severance amd lay full costs to undue transition already made. There is no plan using tax dollars which can make this happen.

killers name is Karmveer Khela who studied at Tamanawis secondary. The police are not detaining him or releasing his name because he is a minor (17 years of age). This is very tragic and Mehakpreet deserves justice!

When it's a cultural problem it's because there is no integrating into Canadian society because there is no reason for this kind of violence.
