And not only the men's, but the women's faculty also. I had a loved one who was in there. She told me how she was beaten and denied her medication. She described how the guards would wrap their hands in towels to hit her to minimize visible bruising and marks. Before we could get her out, attempts would be made to visit. We'd make it through security--2 separate occasions--only to be told that she couldn't have visitors. When we finally saw her we could tell she'd been hit although it was subtle. When she got to court, the extra charges they gave her while she was locked up were "conveniently" dropped. We're blessed we could get her bailed out... ALIVE, and she's finished her probation. She's moved on with her life, but her trauma is real. Yes, they need to hold these rogue guards and the superiors that stand by them ACCOUNTABLE. And that means PUNISHMENT for their unlawful acts. They're worse than the ALLEGED criminals because, after all, the vast majority have NOT been convicted. Thus, they are presumed innocent until PROVEN guilty.

Where are the fathers? Which says alot. They are complaining about the treatment of the inmates. Where's the conference on raising those males to be decent human beings so that they won't end up in jail in the first place?

My daughter's father died in Harris county jail he was only in there for tickets. The jailers beat him to death and coverd up his death in 2005. Everything coming to the light thank you God. I pray they get justice but we never did. Then my mother law died a month later. She couldn't believe he was murdered.... only in jail for tickets.

I also hope justice is served too. How many criminals are in jail because they victimized, assaulted, took advantage of, and killed innocent people. People don't get arrested for nothing. People don't have long rap sheets and spend most of their lives in and out of jail and court because they live good clean lives. My uncle died there. He was diabetic and they refused his insulin. He went in a diabetic coma before they recommended him to be transported to Methodist. He died the Day hr arrived and was revived. The medical staff was visibly upset and had to threaten them to call us still.

I was r word by a guard then lied on when I tried to report it and I was sent to the hole. Fck them guards. They probably deserved it if they got hurt. We had no issues with the good COs. Thank god for the one lady CO who treated me like a human when I was ready to give up.

Oh I'm white and was raped by law enforcement there and then kidnapped by the perpetrators of said crimes at 8 years old and I still haven't been found. Most inmate deaths are caused by other inmates. Look it up. So many different violent gangs in jails and prison. People in jail/prison have to pick a side or the will be killed. Jails and prisons are dangerous places and it's not because of the deputies who work there, it's because of the multitude of violent gangs. It's the gangs who are killing. But it's easy to stand up in front of a crowd of black people and get support by blaming white police officers. It's not always the white cops and deputies. The number one killer of black young men are other black men. Not white people, not white police officers, not white guards. Are people not aware there are also black police officers? Normally at least half of the jail employees are black. Can't continue to blame white supremacy and white people for the deaths of criminals when 99% of the criminals in jail belong to gangs.

Yeah, ouch! I was thinking the same. Even though I know what she meant. That it shouldn't matter what he was charged with, he is still an inmate in their custody so they are responsible for him and he is still a human being. But yeah, those weren't the right words to say.

That's irrelevant this why we have a judge, jury and jail ,your president said I can stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot some people and nobody would care remember

Its true tho . Many school shooters are treated better than colored ppl in for lesser crimes

Everyone whose lost someone in that jail no matter how long ago need to come forward. Your loved ones need justice

I see the guy in the cowboy hat behind the speaker fighting tears. I saw his lip quivering he was fighting them so hard, that I couldn't hold back my own tears. I pray all these families get the justice their lost loved ones deserve!
