On this South Canara trip, I didn’t want to stay in a typical hotel or resort, but in a place that connected us deeper to the land, its people and traditions. And we found the perfect spot to come together as a family at the beautiful Jalaj Beach House, restored meticulously to a traditional aesthetic sensibility that roots this abode to the land. Details:
Jalaj Beach House has four bedrooms, two on the ground floor and two on the first floor. The master bedroom has a large verandah too. All bedrooms are air-conditioned and have attached bathrooms. In my opinion, this villa is comfortable enough to sleep eight persons comfortably.

I found malpe 25 years ago on a trip to mani pal. Always loved the area. One of the best parts of Karnataka with super warm kind and friendly people.
That entire stretch of coast is so peaceful and lovely. Even Kapu is a nice beach with the light house. Super yummy seafood.
I'm so happy that Karnataka is not so commercial like Goa and Kerala .. the beaches are almost untouched .. wow !!!! .. love Karnataka

It is indeed a beautiful house with a sea on one side and river on the other end and so we have the unique setting of a sunrise and sunset. We were lucky to stay in this beautiful house which takes you back to the good old world charm. I fell in love with this place , so also my family and my grandchildren had a great time in the sand & sea.!! Incredibly vintage stuff!!!

Thats one really nice property , usually come to mattu or padukere beach and skip malpe during our visits to udupi . Do visit blue flag beach on the way to mangalore if you haven .

@@ghasitaram ofcourse i know it south Karnataka sir and thev house has Kerala influence as it's close to Kerala borders some traits overlap n also do note i have put comas around 'keralite 'bcoz the place is not exactly in Kerala !!!! Hope this answers your doubt

@@RB-om8sk I have been to both Kerala and Karnataka is my native place.. even Northern Karnataka have the same style of houses and guess what, places in Maharashtra and also Goa bordering Karnataka have similar kind of houses ... So yeah basically houses in Kerala are obviously similar but I don't think they are influenced by Kerala .. it's just a western coast area houses thing ...

It’s accommodation for 8 people in 4 air conditioned fully fitted out rooms on double occupancy in a splendid property that sits on a quarter acre in the most amazing setting between the river and sea with a near private beach over a weekend. Not cheap but definitely worth what one pays for the overall experience.

The caretakers can cook some simple veg fare. There are also restaurants that can deliver, and a full fledged kitchen in case you’d like to cook a meal too.
