The only ones who are actual douches to her was Peter and Lois, Chris and Stewie have treated her poorly; but mostly as siblings. Brian hasn’t really been that bad towards her honestly. Besides the writers have stopped making her the punching bag for a while now. Everyone treats her kind of normal now

I was dead certain she was either gonna be dragged into the pool to be eaten while everyone focuses on comforting Stewie or the zoo keeper guy would've thrown Meg back into the pool thinking she was some water creature.

Why is everyone so awful to Meg in every episode, even when she does something great? This here is one of the only times they’ve ever been nice to her

Meg is more of parent for saving his brother life more then his actaul parents just stood there

I’m pretty sure Stewie and Meg have some sort of alliance.

Brian alerted Meg, and she saved Stewie.

I get that Lois being a bad mom, Brian being a poser, and Peter being stupid, to the point that he endangers his kids, are all running gags in the show. But it seems like they're just rehashing them now without even making an effort to be funny. Same with the Meg "sea cow" bit. Does anyone else get the feeling Family Guy has jumped the shark, and now they're just phoning it in?

Well Seth has pretty much tried to get this show canceled a few times before but they keep begging him to make more cause the fans wanted more. Hence why he went on to other things like The Orville and Ted.
