Nah, this is what makes them special. They’re a cool joke/homage that doesn’t get overused or over stay its welcome. And its also just what makes them memorable; they only appear once so you can cherish what little time ya had

I genuinely miss the family guy that had humor like this, and didn't revolve around dirty humor entirely.

Yeah Family Guy was a better show when they had to rely on good writing. Now shock value has completely replaced actual effort being put into the gags because Fox wanted a South Park clone instead of the animated sitcom it was originally pitched as.

fun fact: the big bug on the 'Quahog pest control' biulding is actually a reference to a real rhode island pest control company(fittingly called Rhode Island Pest Control.) The Big Blue Bug is something of an RI icon and it was pretty nuts seeing it referenced, especially because family guy rarely references the fact that it takes place in rhode island aside from the accents lol
