“The city is working to develop the beach”… really? The concrete will rot and crumble before that happens.

just take the fences down around the lakefront already.. the city has bigger problems than keeping people from enjoying the lake… alligators are an assumed risk in every major body of water in the state.. we grew up swimming in these rivers and lakes and we always knew the danger, but we swam anyways. Just like there is a risk of shark attack in the ocean. People are more likely to get hurt falling in glass trying to jump the fence. There is so little opportunity for safe recreation in the city that this is what people end up resorting to. I went to fish the pier under seabrook bridge recently and it has collapsed into the water and just a huge mess everywhere and sketchy characters all around.. People in that city have so many wasted opportunities just laying around going to crap. A cleanup crew with a tractor and a brush-hog could probably have that beach area decent in under a week if the paperwork just got signed.. I guess they would rather keep these areas as homeless camps than places for normal functioning people to enjoy

If you know it is dangerous with alligators why would you bring your children to this place?

People let their kids play in the batcher whenever the Mississippi floods it, but there are no news reports on that. I've seen way more than one alligator in that water.

Right, so it is okay to serve your children up as dinner for alligators. That's just a great idea. They have more alligators in the Everglades so it must be okay to go out to Lincoln Beach. I don't mind adults getting eaten out there but I don't like to see it happen to kids.

There’s no body of water in Louisiana that doesn’t probably have alligators…so wwl scare tactic to make that beach seem unsafe because of alligators is just because the city doesn’t want people there trespassing. Also great investigating that you can’t find out who was “Allegedly attacked” at that location.

Some folks just don't like their kids all that much. I mean, who else would take their family to a trashy, graffiti covered, alligator infested, crap hole?
