Oh I really like the app element, overall an awesome looking game.

It works really well. Unobtrusive most of the time, but great for the narrative
This was super helpful to watch. On our first couple of sessions we played with the 3 player rules and it was incredibly difficult. Didn't help that I was playing the combined characters of chalk and the frog whose cards don't synergize at all. Next session we'll try separate decks and hopefully have a much nicer session

Yeah, it's better if you put both melee or both ranged characters together, but still not great. What fun it is to have your unique item powers happen half as often!?

Incredibly difficult 😂 you’re doing something wrong mate
This looks perfect for the kids, any idea when it's scheduled for UK release 🇬🇧

Not sure. I believe US preorders have been ordering the past few weeks
Did you use 1 Deck or 4 different decks? I only ask because i just started my campaign solo and it seems very odd with just 1 deck.

I think the official true solo rules are a mess in several ways. I discuss this in my review video. This playthrough is with 4 separate decks

@One Stop Co-op Shop I just ran through the first page true solo and I did not have a good time... I am going to try two handed next and then if I don't like that I will try 4 handed solo. I like the game though, cool and easy deck Builder

For 2-handed, best is to put both ranged characters together and both melees characters together. Works pretty well then
We purchased this a few days ago and have finished the first 2 map scenarios. We love it! However, I have a question that I can NOT find online: how do you purchase any of the 5 artifact cards? The word "artifact" shows up 5 times in the rulebook, but never explaining how to purchase them. Unlike the crafting cards that take 2 resources shown on the bottom of the cards, these Artifact Cards have a picture of a book on the bottom. Do we simply keep playing, and future map scenarios will instruct us? The instructions had us put them out by the crafting cards, but with no explanation. Anyone willing/able to assist?

The ones I’ve gotten have come from the 1xp cost cards tied to each character, and/or we got them from map-specific mini quests. So yes, basically wait until the app tells you to get one ;)

Are you referring to the “Bond” cards that cost 1 power?
@OneStopCoopShop

Yes, I think one artifact came from there
Can anyone answer this for me, I can’t seem to find it in the book. Does health reset after each scenario? Does misfortune and discontent reset after each scenario? And does danger reset after each one? Thanks for the help in advance!

It’s been a while since I played, but I don’t think any of them reset between maps. But the place to check is the app. It has the most complete rules reference
Does the app sort of teach you as you go? Also what's the set up and down like on this?
@OneStopCoopShop
Жыл бұрын
Set up isn’t too bad, and for tear down they have boxes to store each character’s stuff. And yes, the app teaches you somewhat, and it’s not a tough ruleset in any case

@@OneStopCoopShop thanks for the info, I'm looking at it as our first story based game, daughter is 8 this year and I think this might be just right for us all.

Nice video. I am playing solo but I didn't understand one thing. I have one deck for all the familiars since i play solo. I have 2 familiars in the same space with 2 bad guys The dangerous got high and so the bad guy attacks with 5 meele each. I use all my 5 cards for one familiar to defend. Now the other bad guy attacks to the other familiar. Do I get 5 more cards Gor that familiar so he can defend himself or he cannot since i have No more cards? 🤷♂️

This is one of the main reasons I think the official solo variant is terrible. They have no mechanics to deal with the defense problem you are describing here. Like I said in my review, you should really play 4-handed, as much as that can be annoying.
How about replayable?

I think you can get two good plays out of it, with the branching choices and the fact that the child turns out differently based on your results. But beyond two plays I don’t think it would have much new to offer
Oh thank god, it works with an app. I'm thinking I will get this (and sell Aftermath, too complicated for what it sells). I wish Stuffed Fables worked with an app as well, everything is so fiddly. PS: Great playthrough.

@@OneStopCoopShop It does seem like the superior game 😌. I'll definitely get it as soon as it is in Spanish. Great channel, suscribing!
This playthrough confused the dickens out of me. No idea why or how moves were made or how any step occurred next. I think an example step with an explanation of the rules would be useful so I can follow along with a better understanding of what is going on

Helpful to watch but at the same time, for me personally, you're talking too fast. Perhaps because English isn't my native language.

Sorry about that. Just the way I talk, so that's not going to change, but others have told me it was helpful to put on auto-generated subtitles and/or to slow the play speed to .75

Speed is fine for me. I guess it’s different for everyone, so if it was slowed down too much you’d probably lose me sometimes

For sure. That’s why I basically stick to how I talk, since everyone in the audience’s needs and preferences are going to vary anyway

@@OneStopCoopShop sounds familiar (no pun intended). I teach college, and I know that some students in a room will always think I talk too fast. But I can’t slow it down too much (at least not for long) without losing my train of thought. Also, tbh, you don’t want a video like this to run much longer
*winces* Nearly $90 Canadian, and you need a bloody website to play it. Pass.
