Carrie Hamilton was a very good friend of mine and I remember her talking about recording this song. She had such an incredible voice and her delivery was right on spot. We were at Dupree's Dance Studio taking a dance class and the fact Nia Peeples was leaving the show came up. We sat in the hallway and talked like what seems an hr or so about the recording of this song. She wanted this song to be full of emotion and love......she really accomplished it. Carrie had such a light about her and a personality that just exuded love and compassion. Those who knew her or met her really grasp what I am talking about. I miss you Carrie and think of you so often. I miss that big smile that would come over your face and you would scream, "Hey sweetie, how are you?" You gave the best hugs in the world. The world sure was brighter with you in it! Jan. 20 2021 will be 19 years since you left us......it seems like a lifetime. I can't wait to see and hug you again. xoxo

I remember watching this as a kid when the show was in syndication long after the series ended. And yes R.I.P. Carrie Hamilton I can't believe she has been gone for 21 years. Carrie was my favorite from Fame too.

I loved this song even though this was such a sad episode to watch. I always thought it was Nia Peebles (Nicole) who sang this song. Never realized it was Carrie.

@@sophiebrown2622 One of the characters (who was leaving the show (Nicole Chapman/Nia Peeples) was written out (killed in a DUI accident). Carrie Hamilton (the blonde in the 1st shot) is the one singing the song. Carrie died in 2002 of Lung Cancer.
