The wording in legislation is "for any reason" but the police think this means for no reason

I liked the way you guys stayed calm and polite through out and were confident. Stood your ground and instructed them of your rights...how they were wasting your time and looking for a reason to validate them stopping you. The police are in the media spotlight at the moment across the country. Its time they were vette for abusing power and corrupt behaviour

So what we just ignore ethe dacr he xant prove his word is true ans craxk on..then if he gets hit and the insurance dont pay out because he may have a discrepancy amd asks why the police disnt do anything about it.....its oricks like me tnat get hit ans it turns out to be a uninsured driver and I've then gotta claim on my insurance! There's many reasons why police stop people. Not just to be a jobsworth

The best advice anyone can give you when you talk to the Police is, DON'T TALK. All talking does is give them a way in, to get you to self incriminate. Let them do their legal checks, ask for their collars and warrant cards, and repeat the phrases.....I don't answer questions, am I being detained, am I free to go. And if possible, always record any interaction. Policing is based on consent, not compliance.

here in the uk you cant exactly say that as it will get you arrested on suspicion of a crime which is valid, you tell them the absolute minimum, give them your license and if you have it on you ... your insurance documents and if your really prepped .. your MOT certificate, then they cant do shit to you

There's not just a seat on the back to carry passengers, they're is also handle bars/grips on BOTH SIDES FOR A PASSENGER. A driver of the quad is NOT going to need those lol.

I got stopped aswel he said my number plate light was out on my car and I told him to show me he said I'm going to do some checkes and drove off the dirty pig wish had a dash cam in them days

He showed the officer something on his phone, may be insurance. If he knows he is legal and nothing is coming up on the police system that is not his fault.

Here in Canada factory built two seaters are legal for two but add on seats are not legal for two. Here it is illegal to drive on public roads without a helmet much like a motorcycle.

Quad laws in the u.k are a bit vague but same goes if it’s factory fitted it’s legal the same as a motorbike. For some stupid reason helmets are not mandatory on quads or trikes. I’ve never been pulled over but i’m rural and usually wearing a chainsaw helmet with the dog sitting on the back so not much chance it’s a stolen machine. These lads looked liked drug dealers driving round a shit hole council estate on a £15k+ bike . I’d of pulled them over 🤷🏻‍♂️

Shouldn't have pulled into the bus stop. Technically against the law, so the cops were breaking the law too, especially as they pulled you over at a moment expecting you to pull into the bus stop. If I was able to think quickly enough, I would have pulled up in the lane just past the bus stop and just before the traffic island in the middle of the road, just enough for traffic to get by. Also stopping any bus from leaving the bus stop. This is how the conversation would go: Cops: "You can't stop here" Me: "Why did you stop me here then?" Cops: "You should have pulled into that lay-by" Me: "That's not a lay-by, that's a bus stop" Cops: "Whatever. You should have pulled in there" Me: "So you're saying I should have illegally used a bus stop because of your ignorance of the law?" ...and so on. Would probably never have got to why they stopped me as the traffic now backing up would put too much pressure on their tiny little brains.

Someone told me something about quads and I think they’re right , He said, if you look at quads versus cars versus motorbikes. Quads have all the disadvantages, of a car without any of the advantages, like weather, protection and crash protection. Also Quads have all disadvantages of a motorcycle without any of the advantages like filtering through traffic, fast easy to store. He said the worst of both worlds. So I am interested in any logical reason to have a-quad on the road at all.

Because quads are fun as fuck and turn heads and make lots of noise. Quads are work and fun vehicles, they can go more places than any bike can, plus they can tow trailers and be used for work. You don’t see a bike towing a trailer do you lol. If a quad is road legal, there’s nothing they can do about it.

Section 163 Road Traffic Act makes this stop perfectly legal. Don't be mad at the police, they didn't make the law, parliament did. Why not campaign to have it changed? I have been stopped before for no reason. I let them check my driving licence and my insurance and went on my way. I don't see the issue here ?

It really doesn't matter if you're stupid or not, the police will give you a job anyway. Instead of giving these dummies a training that's word the name, they just send them out and let themmake-up their DIY laws at the spot that are of course in no way conform with the real law. There's only one thing they seem to have learned, and that is useless COPSPLAINING.

you can request a copy of the in car camera footage , if the brake lights are shown to working then they lied under Oath , cannot see if their body cams were on, if so request copies also as there will be audible recordings of the lie

I been stopped twice on my can am , fully comp insurance, taxed , full licence etc ... they don't recognise Road legal quads cos of all the bad publicity of off road vehicles. Good luck lads keep on riding..

I used to ride a 125 on a cbt and I wasn't allowed a passenger. But if I rode a 50cc moped I could take a passenger. I always thought this was stupid as a 50cc hasn't got the power to cope with being 2 up

I'm 64 and I was regularly stopped on my moped when I was 16 for riding with no L plates or because I had no L plates and had my girlfriend on the back. I'd passed my test which most 16 year olds didn't and still don't bother with. Then, because I had a full licence they'd give the moped an inspection to see if they could get me on anything else. Not that I harbour a grudge or anything 🤣. You want to support the Police but they're making it more and more difficult for us to do that.

As the BBB says the first thing you should say to the plod when they pull you over is, "is this a section 163 stop", if they reply yes then they will have a job trying to make anything else stick, they can't claim you were speeding or ran a red light or there's a problem with your indicators because they should state that that's the reason for stopping you just a 163.
