False ballistic missile alarm forces Hawaii into panic mode

Hawaii's emergency management agency is now receiving death threats after Saturday's terrifying false alarm. An employee at the agency pushed the wrong button and mistakenly sent out a mass alert telling people a ballistic missile was headed for the state. CBS News correspondent David Begnaud takes CBSN through the latest from Honolulu.

I thought the same! I am so glad no-one did that or this would have become an unforgivable error. I can't help but feel sorry for the employee who sent out the alert too - apparently he wasn't even supposed to be able to access this? Sorry, I don't know much about it, but it seems like the major issue was a flawed system that is designed and reviews by multiple experts instead of one individual who inadvertantly clicked the wrong thing in a screen he should never have been able to even access.

Asking why the shelters weren't opened is like asking why they didn't launch nuclear missiles back. People in charge of those things don't get the notification via the public alarm. They get 100% confirmed indications of where the missiles are, where they are headed, how many there are and who launched them and following instructions on what to do next.

To be fair (while my job is nowhere near this important) if I press something I think is right and get a pop up I've usually clicked yes/ok before I've actually read it. While this is a massive mistake that should have consequences I find nothing suspicious about the fact the employee pressed yes twice.

Jesus will fulfill you more than anything in this world, I speak from experience (from when i did Romans 10:9-13), he loves you and wants to be in a meaningful (not romantic) relationship with you. :) “that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭9‬-‭13‬ ‭KJV‬‬ “and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭1‬:‭15‬ ‭KJV‬‬ If you want proof that Jesus and the Bible are true look a documentary called “Ron Wyatt discoveries 2022” on KZread and a KZread channel called Expedition Bible. They both examine archeological sites and discoveries that prove the Bible, and even reference secular sources. (Just don’t convert to 7th day Adventism after watching the documentary) And lastly if you don’t know the gospel and want to be saved search up “abc’s of Salvation Teenmissions” on Google and it should be the first or second result. When you click on it read the whole thing, and do what it says and have faith in Jesus while you are doing it, do not doubt, and if it is hard for you to do what it says, ask Jesus to help you, have faith that he will, and *he will.* God Bless :)

Why is there a news blackout about the fire and real number of victims. Stuff to think about. My heart goes out the the people of Hawaii. God bless the innocent victims.

The North Korean Missiles may not be so accurate.

I honestly don't think that his name should be released because accidents do happen, but they need to just obviously fire that person. I'm not from Hawaii, but could you imagine if this happened where you live? Good grief!

Well, he shouldn't be fired. Why? Because now he'll be on his toes every time he does something. Reaching for his water? He'll probably scan his entire desk. Firing another alert? Whether it's true or a drill? He'll read the screen for an hour making sure he doesn't hit the wrong button, regardless of whether or not it's an actual emergency and everyone blows up because he literally spent an hour.
