For anyone whos companions run away in a fight: Under the "Assistance tab" while editing the NPC ,make sure "Helps No One" is NOT selected and "Helps Allies" IS selected

I made a Feral ghoul and right when i loaded up the game i heard his footsteps running to me, but i didnt see him. I turned around and he was right in my face lmao

im actually watching this so i can make a npc based of my dad who is dying of cancer so i always have him with me in my adventures

My alien companion won't use his recharger rifle and he runs away in combat. It is really funny.

ForChivalry I don't think NPC's can use the Recharger rifle. Or any MF Breeder weapon for that matter

@ 8:27 For those who are not aware and would like to know, the "Ammo10mm75" is not 75 rounds of 10mm ammo, it is 1 round of 10mm ammo with a 75% chance of existing. These variable existence items are there for the sake of randomization so that not every enemy or container of the same type yields the exact same contents.

he is already in the game if you save it because the geck saves it in the data map where FOMM also puts mods

Al, I followed your amazing and humorous instructions to the letter, but my companion will not spawn where I want him to spawn. Is there a specific way to set it so he spawns in GoodSprings? Thanks in advance!

actully i found out when your picking the file to edit or something you have to put it as an active file THEN you can save as much as you like. hope this helps you in case. :)

I have a small problem, I tried to make a Securitron companion, and when I went in-game, I put it at the goodsprings cemeterey, when I went up there, the securitron was not there, however vector was, and I found boone looking in a grave as well...

for those of you making followers and having issues with your follower killing everyone. change the class to player class under the traits section. and if your giving them a weapon in the inventory lists, type with ammo and choose one of those thats what npc's use so you dont have to worry about them running out

in the geck under the edit screen change his agression to either unaggressive or aggressive

I had this problem a little while ago too. First up, are you sure you have latest version of fallout and GECK? If so, when you run GECK, right click and select-run as administrator. This seemed to work for me let me know if it helped! :)

ammo 10mm 75 is a leveled item. in the leveled items section the number after the item or items is the percent chance you have of getting it. so its 1 10mm ammo. just a 25 percent chance you dont get it.

Hey Al do you play Fallout New Vegas on Steam? Because if you do can you use the GECK for it?

download the fallout mod manager, make sure it's the new one, not the fallout 3 version. but, it's on the fallout 3 nexus. once you download it correctly, when you open the geck, click on the folder on the top that's half way open. that folder will open the fallout mod manager, and have the first one clicked. that should upload all of the fallout data.

i made my companion but how do i change it and then save it. when ever i try it says its in use and when i try to make a different file name the companion doesn't appear.

Alright i have a problem when we get to the topics section, anytime i choose a topic it doesn't show, ive tried before to just continue without it but then it overwrites when you putting different topics on.

@MrUberEpicAwesome1 its very self explanitory. unless you go to face advanced. ive learned most of the things i know about the geck by messing with stuff, seeing what it does, and understanding its function based on the thing it changes.

@AlChestBreach can you help me? i installed the GECK and when i start it up all i see is my character no npc's no landscapes just my guy and when i try looking at or editing him the GECK crashes should i uninstall my mods, the game or both HELP and thanks. oh and love the vids :)

OH and for anyone that actually wants to make the compaion be able to trade with you can make it have dioluge and make sure you have one line that says "Lets trade!" (because i did that) and when he says something open up his diolouge edit and in result script type in "openteammatecontainer 1" then you have a REAL companion!

So this way you can add it your stuff as a regular mod?

makes sure your download/install path is the same as the one your Fallout NV.exe is located. Should be in your Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/common/Fallout New Vegas or something like that. The default path for me didnt lead to the correct place but if you make it the same place as your .exe it should work.

I don't think you'd be able to equip inventory items to an NPC... That's a mod. I couldn't give a suit to a coyote and then it'd be a suited-coyote for example, because it's for human/non-feral ghoul meshes.

Mr.cuddlesworth isn't a basic Npc that you can give things,there are many names for him,Al just happened to pick "Mr.cuddlesworth",Mr.cuddlesworth comes with a hat already on him,but the hat only appears when he is grown,you see?He starts out as a baby and you feed him and take care of him.The mod name is Baby Deathclaw I believe.If you want a link to it just tell.

have him, fed him, even gave him a stealthboy and he ate it. hes grown up now and he has no hat. maybe I should have gave him the hat when he was still accepting food

Al has another mod that gives him the hat, unfortunately it's hidden on nexus.

how do i edit unknown npcs. i mean a npc thats always there (never resets ir anything its ment to be in that area )but it has no name
