There was a story about a guy who had his thumb bitten off by a Moray eel and was similarly just as shocked and not screaming.

He remembers who he is and was. It's like he said to Lucy. (This place will change you, you will do what you have to do to survive). He has been a Ghoul for over 219 years.

My take away. As him in the movie series t.v series his chaacter killed the bad guy when he felt he was a good guy and wouldn't have murdeed anyone. He became for real what he didn't want to be. Lucy didn't compromise and said she never would and saved him even after all that he' done to her. Maybe she was right.

The ghouls in the game are scarier because they're not played by human actors so they can move and run in unnatural ways, more like a corpse flailing around

Yeah they _have_ explained it. Just not outright, which apparently is the only way these two comprehend anything. Michelle was confused about the two guys running a business. "I don't get the point of those two guys." Ummm , they're entrepreneurs running a business in the apocalypse. 🤦🏼

Is it though? Because, as a writer myself, it actually sounds like someone tried to write stuff that sounded cool, but completely failed and they just kept it anyway. His line about the Amish production of the Count of Monte Cristo made absolutely no sense. His "us cowpokes, we take it as it comes" line isn't clever or badass or really saying much of anything. All of his one liners are just words jumbled together to sound funny, but none of them make any sense or mean anything. I really don't get the massive appeal of his character.

@@MontgomeryWenis Some of his lines are funny, some of his lines are badass, and some of them (like back when he was Cooper Howard) were meant to be comforting/emotional. That's how language works. "Amish production of the count of Monte cristo" made perfect sense in it's context, and the fact that you didn't elaborate on why it doesn't makes it clear that you don't actually have a smart justification for that statement. "Us cowpokes, we take it as it comes" is him trying to comfort Janey and reassure her that they'll be okay even if the worst happens, and it does it's job really well. Whatever the case, you are objectively wrong about every single statement you made, and your complete lack of media or literal literacy makes me think that when you say you're a "writer", you just mean you've written a short story for a college class. You "don't get the massive appeal of his character" because you're stupid.

The two men ran a business. How is that hard to understand?

"Take the whole box." He can't take it, in games as player you can loot items from boxes but you can never take the box.
