I dont regret splitting gold with the factions. Settlers were in friendly for me but the raiders were very low in cooperative. I opened vault using settlers and when I split the gold my raider rep rose to just a hair away from friendly while the settlers barely dropped. Might have lost a few days worth of gold but eliminated a lot more days rep grinding.

Rafael Santos You can infinitely grind reputation. It may take you more hours but you can max it out in a few days (if you're dedicated). Gold bullion will literally take weeks because of time gating. You want a full set of secret service armour? That's 4250 bullions. You'll prolly want the jet pack too, add 2000. You want to mod your armour too? Buttressed costs a total of 1500 (torso, legs, arms). And hey you have to get 7750 gold bullion. You might want the helmet too just to finish off the set, another 1650... So say you want to get the full armour set, that will cost you 9400 gold bullion and 5 weeks where you'll have to grind every day for treasury notes. We haven't even started to consider weapons and their mods or power armour if that's what you want to go for. Sure reputation grinding through random encounters nets you a bees dick of reputation and literally hours (talking 24+ hours of pure grinding) but hey you wont have to play for 5 weeks straight for a set of secret service armour. In any case you might not want any of the new armour. I'm content with my Chinese stealth suit, it's awesome. However I'll still need gold bullion for the new weapons, backpack mods and end tier faction rewards.

On the Retirement Plan quest, you can convince the Raider to return to camp for double the Reputation boost.

It can be triple actually! Do the Strength option to send him back to camp to get the rep - kill him right afterwards. Next, when you talk to Rocksy, make sure you say you killed him. She'll be happy with that comment so you'll get rep for that. Then more rep for completing the task.

With proper dialogue you can also send him to the foundation to get faction boost for them as well.

This update is cool and all, and I can understand why it will take long for us to get everything as my belief for it is that they want us to actually enjoy the update, the story behind it and to take in everything it has to offer, but not on Day 1 of it being released. I do agree on it being kinda over the top in it taking nearly a month of pure grinding to unlock everything, but I personally don’t mind as I do enjoy those items and think they will be cool, but I won’t go die hard for them. It’ll come in time. I honestly am more interested in the Plans from the Raiders than settlers, but I’ll be sure to do what I can for each and maximize it everyday. I chose to split it with everyone and try to be the middle man for everyone, but luckily it is on my second character. For my main, I think i’ll take all the gold just for the sake of it, but at the same time, I don’t think i’ll be a complete die hard grinder for all the items as I hardly play on my main. Both are bloodied builds but my main is more strength oriented for heavy guns and melee while my secondary is a pure rifleman and can easily be switched to commando (gotta go with the go to handmade, or at least until I find another decent legendary substitute rifle) Nonetheless great video and let’s see who of all Fallout content creators can win the Arms Race in obtaining the plans and mods for everything the fastest

i played the story slowly but played long hours and finished it in 3-4 Days. Now i have to grind the same few Dailys and Events over and over for Months to get the Rest of the Update? Thats not what i call a good Endgame Grind. If you miss the chinese stealth armor in the settler Main Story, you have to 4000 Gold that needs about 3 Weeks to get and you dont get any progress in the whole three weeks. No other new items, no chance to try diffrent things because you cant waste the gold for it and so on.... you just have to do the excact same thing for 3 weeks every day just to get a item you could have gotten for free if you knew about it earlier. Thats just rediculously stupid endgame grind.... The reputation system could be really nice way to get piece for piece of some new content but NOPE... the good shit is all on max Reputation.

Yeah a month to get the t-65 or the secret service armor, then anorher month to get the other, tyen another month for the gauss weapons, and another month for whatever epse you want. And thats for the people that can get on everyday, if youre like me and work everyday and sometimes have no time to waste its gonna take 6+ months to really get much. On top of that theres the issue of me playing games to wind down after a long day. Having to play a game everyday for months doing the same daily quests and getting nothing doesnt do that for me. I love the update i really enjoyed everything about wastelanders, but they couldve had a little mercy on people who have busy lives and dont have time to grind everyday. If they could just make it a weekly gold limit id be fine. Its really hard to get on the game and get max gold and rep every single day

To get every thing at max gold rate it will take at least a bit over a year.

If you cant talk to rocky or any daily NPC just walk into the crater building to reload the area then try talking to them again and it should work, it did for me at least. PS: Love the vid, keep it coming, please. :D

I made two major mistakes on my main, I split the gold and I ignored the settlers, now I have to slowly grind settler rep so I can buy the farm tile and take longer to get the gold items I want retirement plan is one of the best dailies, you can do the optional to intercept the hunters and if you extort their pay you can get an extra 200 caps and then take 25 more caps from the target and off him, then get the reward for the quest.

For the settlers rep, the daily quest Davenport gives you for photos, if you take photos of the raiders camp, you can turn in the photos to the settlers and get a little rep with them. It works vice versa too. It's not a huge amount mind you, but every bit helps.

During vital equipment for the settlers, you can get raider rep at the cost of settler rep if you convince the raider thief to pay for the item. “Swarm of suitors” only gives treasury notes if the mirelurk queen DOES NOT appear by completely destroying the mirelurk horde/leaders before they get to the island.

If you convince the raider hunters to go home and talk to the ex Raider you can convince them to move to foundation for more settlers rep. Prob can convince them to go back to the Raiders as well.

Also, Riding Shotgun at Big Bend Tunnel East gives 2 treasury notes AND you only have to talk to Vinny to start. You can server hop and keep doing that one. Plus its kind of fun.

I'm trying to get the plasma caster from Regs and this really helped me get the treasury notes

The plasma caster does high damage per hit but only if you got stabilized perks and high vats, if not you will miss majority of the time if not point blank. The sniper barrel really helps with accuracy, and the prime receiver has it bump to 785 damage per hit for scortched. It's not the best but more than gets the job done just don't even try PVP with this unless the player is level 60 or under. I really wish there was an automatic receiver for this weapon as it would would be pretty formidable to fight against. Imagine a Bloodied automatic, 2 shot, 33% faster fire rate plasma caster good Lord that would smoke things!

Oscar Martin TECHNICALLY they do but two shot is additive always Two shot makes a second projectile based off JUST base damage and damage skills, no mods no legendaries Meaning two shot is only good if your damage doesn’t really go up that much but you have high fire rate

Get ready for the long grind.

I don’t think splitting the gold is a bad choice at all, especially if you picked raider. I’ve been doing all the dailies and a lot of rep farming at assault points. Despite siding raider my settler rep has caught up with the raiders. So while farming works well for settler rep it’s a much slower grind for raider rep. I’m almost ally with both but it was a lot of work.

Is there an update to the ending if this video, about the dubious gold bars?

Some people regret, that they split the 1000 Gold with the settlers or raiders.... But imagine, that if you miss to get the chinese stealth armor in the settelers questline, you have to buy it for 4000 Gold (without helmet)... Thats ridiculously stupid balancing, bethesda.

How much content does westlander actually add? Like how long is the main story?

After the pts, I made the mistake of sharing gold bullions with both factions. Took forever to increase the reputation after that. I'm currently playing with two different characters, one doing both questlines from each factions and doing the raider in the end for the Gauss Minigun plan. The other character is doing all quest from both faction until the vault raid for the foundation side. So i get the Gauss shotgun plan for that guy.

Trying to get 3 characters up to the same point (progression) is gonna take time since I need to focus my main with it's daily and gold grind, respec my level 60+ while doing the main quests and attempting to power level new new character so I have a lot more stuff to do

That applies only to the end mission in the chain, "All That Glitters". You have to side with one or the other, at which point the main faction chain ends for the side you didn't choose. You can still do their dailies, however - on my first toon to do this, I sided entirely with the Settlers and didn't do anything for the Raiders after getting them to drink the inoculated Nuka-Cola, but I still have the daily missions available from the Crater.

I got both sides to pick Nd im at the end where i have to let each faction leader know about finally raiding the vault. But i got 100 notes and not sure where when or how i got them. I was just doing quest lines for the rep. My QUESTION now is, could i gain Treasury notes and not have finished either side?

IDK but for me it's easer to get gold bullion by grinding events, I've collected around 350 in two days. Also you can buy it for caps. Whereas grinding for reputation with only one or two quest per day is way more difficult.

Luis Santa Cruz well there’s the 200 cap for bullion, and after that you’re unable to get more for the day. you can do like 5 dailies for reputation and then farm random encounters as many times afterwards.

unfortunately the gold bullion is the same amount no matter which place you trade notes at so if you went to get 30 gold at crate it would reflect at Foundation as well

You can still loot the item off the corpse. It actually makes it quicker if its dead already!

To go from Hostile to Ally from just doing the random encounters it would take 8 days straight of grinding... Definitely not worth anyone's time. Don't get me wrong I want that gauss minigun really bad but not that bad. I'll wait, plus I got T-65 and plasma caster and pistol with all mods so I'm good for now.

Reaching the max 200 gold per day isn't that hard. You do the 3 daily quests that give you 90 gold and at the same time you can also do whatever public events show up. So say 4 events that get you 2 or 3 treasury notes. In an hour, hour and a half you're done for the day. Still much easier than Vault 94 grind.

No they are bound to your character and the new legendary weapons too

The dailies didn`t activate for me yesterday.

from what i understand daily's reset at 8pm EST. so if you complete the daily at 8:01 PM you don't get the quest for that day reset. this applyies to all daily quests and "repeatable quests"

ghostboy1225 Exactly why I stayed in game until 10 pm EST. They still didn’t pop up. At that point it had been more than 24 hours since I did my last daily. So who knows.

I wish I kept it for myself but hey ho I can always earn them back

I think you get more reputation for not asking for more caps and just giving your services for free

I sided with raiders and I’m not getting a mission from wrong or rocks!

This is mostly what i figured out myself and it seems mostly complete. Missing in the video: With the faction dailies if you donate the reward you won't get caps but you will get extra small reputation boost. Also, there will be future content which likely also include reputation / gold bullion gains. His name is Bones, not Fish Bones :P You state caps farming is easy. However if i do all these so called cap stash runs i always end up with way less even though i use all the perks and boost items. Server hopping is Time consuming *imo*. What method do you suggest with the current patch that still works?

Ive never done all the server hopping farming stuff. From the beginning ive had a lot of industrial purifiers always made plenty of caps from the water. My new camp i just built has six purifiers i get 30 purified water every 15-30 minutes. So i just pop into camp every once and a while, usually ive emptied the trader cap pool in a couple hours and any extra water goes in the stash for the next time. All while doing events and whatnot which adds even more caps. I recommend being a water caravan man like me.

Ok is there a point in the story where these treasure notes start dropping as rewards cause i have done several of the things you brought up and have never gotten one note. Even my faction daily quests dont give them'

You begin earning treasure notes from all public events and the factions dailies only after you complete the vault 79 raid. Honestly I always felt most public events were a little boring and not worth doing, but now I'm not missing any of them!

Question is anyone's settlers rep quicker than their raiders mine seems way slower even though I sided with the raiders?

Mine is climbing up quick when grinding the random encounters for the rep. About halfway through neighborly with Raiders and halfway through friendly with the settlers. More often than not, I encounter settlers more than raiders through the random encounters.

Didn't Pete Hines say that they've spent the last 18 months trying to understand what people really want from a Fallout game? We've had grinding for equipment, to help grind for more equipment, during that entire time period. If they have actually taken the time to consider that the system is not appealing to players, why has this nearly identical system been added?

Yes, I have 1 extra, forgot to change the title in the opener, the last point in the video is not confirmed, that's why I ended up changing the title on KZread.

For some reason I can't help the raiders at the Ohio River, Fishbones didn't ever gave me the option to help them he only say thanks for your help with the mirelurk

Dont regret girl for giving away those gold bullions, we still have days of grinding reputation in order to get the items unlocked, so what makes you feel that you wont have enough untill then? :) i just think that the best option is just to lose as less reputation as you can with your choice. Rep will be hard for those who are not planning to play 24/7 while hunting for random encounters.. Also, you need about 20 random encounters in order to get the amount of reputation you earn from dailies..
