Great Content. Loved the tour. Hate how settlements are very wacky in vanilla building. Place Anywhere mods come in handy for this game. Gave me some inspiration for the next time I go to my Vault 88.

Second comment: yes, it's impossible to build from the Atrium to the Vault Water Pump. However, there are ways to connect the three secondary sectors by paths you can dig out of the cavern walls. That means that, since you can build into the other two sub-sectors, and then build via the connecting passages, you can still build around the Water Pump and have it connected to the main room.

It pisses my off when I type in no mods, and people using mods come up, other than that, great job man!

For those who still want to create an aestetically pleasing Vault 88 without using any mods, you can still do so to an extent. The tips I can give are 1. Don't forget that you can pick up random junk when exploring the wasteland. Duh. My point being made here is that before you immediately dump everything into the workshop with "store all junk" -look through your inventory for practical items that make you go "hmmm... this would be good for decorating..." or "a real person would like something like this in their room/office" and drop them into a pile on the floor before you dump the rest in the workshop. 2. Sometimes, leaving things like chairs, couches, or boxes completely straight can cause the environment to look unnatural. We accidently scoot things around when we oftenly use them, so adding some tilt may help. 3. WALL DECORATIONS! RUGS & MATS! On top of other things to fill holes that make your rooms look empty and dull. Houseplants, ashtrays, posters, even display cases with robot models, etc. can fix this. For an example where I use these last three talking points, I'll start by visualizing a nursery or any type of kids' room. Next time you're mindlessly wandering the wasteland, be sure to grab those toy cars, Jangles the Moon Monkeys, toy aliens, teddy bears, or any other kid-friendly items. Yes, unfortunately you'll have to let go of a few screws, steel, plastic, cloth, or other materials- but it is definitely worth it if your vault means anything to you. Find things appropriate for that specific room or prefab you're using. Medbay or Clinic would have lots of chems- good and bad- and blood packs, Stimpaks, and of course RadAways. If you can find a surgical tray, it'll make a nice touch on a metal cart or table within the room. Maybe you can find a scalpel or bonesaw to add to the set. Just random ideas here. Anyways, I hope this helped!

I spent probably close to 20 hours in Vault 88 build area. This is just some thoughts. I like the idea, but it is flawed. 1. As much as you would love to take over the entire main room to build in, the reality is there is always something in the way. Some rock obstruction, some raised section of ground. Something. And not being able to completely utilize the space is not something that is obvious until you are literally hours into a build. 2. As much as I love the lego type system of design in Fallout, the reality is no matter how perfect your design some piece is never going to cooperate. No matter what you do. What angle you approach it at or even what side. That perfect wall is never going to be perfect. And that annoys the absolute hell out of me. 3. As you are building you will discover that there is a order to building. And if you don't follow the order at some point something is going to go wrong in the design. Take the atrium ceiling as an example. I built this massive vault in the main open area. Got to the point where I was ready to enclose the atrium with a roof and what do I find? None of the roof atrium items would connect. Something in the inherent interior design was preventing the pieces connecting. To have a roof, I literally had to add another unused floor just so I could have a roof over the vault. And in so doing I came close to maxing out the size limit on the Vault. 4. Speaking of build, all those extra zone areas are a complete waste of space. You will never use them because it is hell trying to build a proper vault to use the space and because you build lots of useless tunnels just to reach another build area you can't use because you max out the build size. 5. Something else I've noticed when building setttlements. The more you build the worse the game runs. Seriously, if you want the game to run smoothly and not take forever to load your settlement zone, you need to minimize your builds. This is the PC version by the way. 6. Not a complaint, just an observation. I don't care how much steel, rubber, concrete, and glass you have it will not be enough. I probably burnt through +5000 steel, probably close to 500 rubber, a couple of hundred concrete, and a couple of hundred glass to build the basic vault. This is not enough raw resources in the build zones to pull this off. No matter what you do, eventually you are going to have to leave to gather more resources to complete your design. 7. Food production needs to be something other than growing plants. Sure, you have the plant tiles to build farmable areas within the vault itself, but the more logical approach is to plant crops outside the vault and have a doorway going to this area. A doorway which your NPCs will always leave open. Which opens you to attacks. Food production needs to take a more industrial approach than fundamental crop growing (underground no less). The Fallout series does have the game Fallout Shelter. Where you build and design a 2D vault, populate it, and protect it. I spent hours, if not days or weeks in that game before I finally just decided to call it quits because there was nothing really left to achieve. But with that said, the concept of Vault 88 could use a full blown game. You are trying to repurpose an incomplete vault with resources found in the game much like Vault 88. But the core goal here isn't Fallout 4. The core goal to achieve is to build a fully functional vault because the radiation outside is gradually getting worse and you need to protect yourself and the others who follow you into the vault. The game ends when you close the door, and seal the vault. The game then tells you what your odds of survival are based on a number of factors: population, entertainment, food production, water access, medical access, radiation exposure, defense, and raw resources and supplies. But half the game isn't just building the vault, it is finding people to populate the vault. You need to find people with key skill sets and who are compatible personality wise. For example, you pick a NPC to come to your vault as head of security and all they do is fleece the other vault dwellers for resources like the vault is his prison and he is the head prisoner. Or the doctor who worked for Vault Tec and is a key to many of the psychological tests in many of the vaults and wants to continue running such tests on this vault's inhabitants. Or the guy who claims to be a great food producer only to learn that he is also a cannibal and people keep coming up missing. The educator who is slowing turning into a ghoul. The cook who raises feral molerats who occasionally get out. Etc. Etc. You get the idea. Everybody who you can bring to the vault, has some personality quirk you have to overcome or it will end in disaster. And yes, you are the default Overseer. And maybe this is all happening because of some player induced nuclear explosion such as Megaton or Fallout 76. You are seeing the end result of recent nuclear explosions. But trying to build your vault puts you at odds with other factions. You need technology for the vault so you are in competition with BoS. You probably have to hit government facility which would put you at odds with the Enclave. You are taking resources from the locals so you act more like a raider than survivor. And the more you push the factions buttons, the more likely it is that somebody is going to attack your vault.

I can only build with atrium parts.I gave up trying to connect atrium and non-atrium parts.

Very well built. It looks like it's a part of the game. My vault is full of females apart from clem the ladies man. And it's used as an ammo factory..I also have an arena so any new comers can fight for their place in the vault. Very interesting how they fight, I make sure they are unarmed but I put melee weapons on the ground,Very rarely one will pick up a bat or knife and kill the opponent. One female I have has fought 5 times and won all the fights so she is top dog.

Right before he went on the weights I got a ad about lifting weights.

This is probably far too late a response, but when you said in the video that you didn't get anything from playing the spot nachine, you missed the alert that you gained a +1 bonus to your Luck, just like you'd gain +1 Strength from using the Weight Bench or +1 Agility from using the Pommel Horse. (Only one star bonus at a time.)

I love your work-in-progress room! I never even thought about something like that, very unique. This dlc gives you so much room, I get overwhelmed every time I try to build.

This dlc pissed me off so much. I had a hell of a time getting things to snap, and I was only about 1/2 done my atrium when the game said I maxed out on the things I could place.....

How were you able to put walls on either side of the atrium stairs? I keep trying to but nothing's working. the power in my vault only works in some places so I figured I fucking something up w the walls since the power only works in certain places. Thought that might be it

The only 2 ways to do that is by using place everywhere mod or by playing with the stairs's collision

Been looking at a lot of different builds of vaults from different youtubers i really like yours! I always wanted modders to get together and kind of create a mini game where you pick a vault that you grow up in and have to survive messed up experiments or raiders or enclave. I just think it would be really cool having a sort of war for a vault where you have to go door to door reclaiming your vault.

Can someone help me, I have the mod to re texture vault suits but it re textures every vault suit accept vault 88 suits I have it at the bottom of my load order but it still doesn't work and I know it's possible because I have seen other people with the rest textured vault suits and their vault 88 suits have been re textured apart from mine

Can I ask how you got the special room’s, such as the clinic, to fit underneath the atrium ceiling peace’s? I can never get it to clip in underneath it.

Hi, how did you provide power to the vault? How did you use the existing reactor and how did you provide power to everywhere including the reactor room?

I kinda cheated by gong through the ground and placed conduits. I don't remember if the reactor that is there was usable

What mod were you using to get the terminals?

I hate my vault 88, when I leave I always close the door. when I come back I try to open the door and the only thing that happens is the alarm goes off. I have to go out the cave and come back into the vault atleast 3 times before the door actually opens

That happen with me, What i did is pressed the button Then quit the game reloaded it, pressed it again and it worked fine after that

Cant figure out how you got the atrium ceiling but you have those rooms so close. Not possible.. the atrium prefab ends and atrium ends wont allow doors, windows and walls to be build where you have them and if you try to build the walls of the main entrance you then cant place the atrium ceilings on that. Are you using a mod to make your atrium entrance so compact? Mine is trying to force my atrium to be 5 spaces wide where yours is only 3..

The 'Commissary' Sign is just a fancy way of saying supply shop, a commissary is a place where workers/employees can buy supplies like water and snacks and whatnot

people can hate fallout 4 for many reasons, but the best thing it gave us was the settlement building....holy shit do i love it.

Nice vault man! Spent a lot of time making my vault as well, but after a while with the random attacks outside the walls, and settlers teleporting outside and getting stuck, I didnt bother anymore. A shame, since it is the best place to build by far :(

Which mod was used for placing things on the shelf? Was it the place everywhere mod?
