It's awesome on Series X. We have Ultra settings at 60fps in quality mode. I am baffled that people say they can't see a difference. Clearly just want to be negative about something or they can't see properly. People.act like this was going to be a remake or something.

It looks as with Skyrim the visual upgrades are minimal. It seems the meat of the upgrade adds FPS options , content and bug fixes. For me this is a mixed bag update.

There will be a lot of people mid game on consoles and most of us can't even get on to play it. Bethesda had a big chance here to potentially open up to a new audience and they have fucked it up. Nevermind the fact they have just broken 9 years of mods, all to get 60fps that we could already get on the series x.

For them to break 9 years worth of mods for this is criminal and the fact you could already run it at 60fps PC ultra settings on series x with a mod just makes this whole thing so much worse. Even by Bethesda standards. This is bad

​@@lotsathedetox The performance mode is equivalent to PC Medium settings, and runs at 60 fps. The equivalent to PC Ultra would be quality mode, and it runs at 30/40 fps.

Its a mess. Quality and performance Mode are the same on XSX, HDR is gone complete and you cant hear sounds and npcs talking if they are in your back. Very disapointing

They messed up the quality modes on Series consoles 😒 I expected at least higher texture, some kind of raytracing and 4k/60 fps. Never gonna buy something from Bethesda again.

I know it was mainly focused on performance, but I do wish we got a little more of a facelift.

Seems like some minor textrue scrubbing and framerate improvements were done and thats all

You got to go through the graphical settings in game. I was dealing with the same issue too. Once I switched it to performance the game looks amazing

Is it finally native 4k60 on the Series X? I hate having to use mods to get 4k60 and an unstable 4k60 at that.

So does the update force it on the internal ssd or can it still be played on the hdd’s like the assassins creed upgrades.

just so everyone knows, this update is mainly for minor changes, the creation club items we ae getting for free, and then higher resolution mode and 60fps mode on console, with ultrawide support on pc.

I’m curious to see the frame rate graphs. In performance mode everything feels like a smooth 60 fps. However in quality mode (performance off) the signal is interpreted as a 120 fps mode and my TV swaps from 60 fps to 120 fps HDR VRR. Curious if quality is uncapped, 40 fps mode or something.

Is there a new trophy/acheivement list for the game as in a fresh start or does it just continue off of the old gen versions

Slight improvements, it looks better in person, I'm playing it right now and the resolution boost and QoL improvements are nice, and smoother framerate but no HDR support and no more Auto HDR on xbox now that it's been updated

Framerate is significantly improved. The left side was stuttery and low FPS the whole time. The right side was sooo smooth in comparison. This isn't a remake/remaster, it's just updating the game to run better and at higher resolution with an optional performance mode for lower-end systems. Not going to look significantly different outside of game performance.

Yes to a point if you have more then one follower and tons of mods then it can crash however it does even then run much better it honestly seems that the older console's limitations caused it I ran in downtown Boston and it ran great.

Is this performance mode or quality mode ? Because 60 fps in quality mode are only possible on 1440p display and 4k resolution 30fps, but quality mode graphics settings set at maximum like on pc version and better than xbox One x versions . In performance mode, only difference just in fps ( 60fps vs 30fps )

@@TimeMasterOG Because you wouldn’t have even frame pacing at 40fps on a 60Hz screen. In other words, some frames would display for longer periods of time than others, resulting in a visible stutter. 120 is perfectly divisible by 40, while 60 is not.

What is quality mode running at on a series x? The patch notes say 30/40 but there is zero difference between the 2 modes

I'm about to replay it for the fifth time and I'm glad it's not just my console to blame for the lag and game crash whenever I enter Boston City. I think there's too much going on for it to handle. If they had done something about that, I would have been very grateful. There's nothing worse than sneaking up to a super mutant with a missile launcher, taking aim and zzzzzzzzztttt! Your game freezes at the point where you pulled the trigger!!!

what about the 2gb mod limit is there any news about that i hope thay will increase that to atleast 5gb

Correct also I’m in far harbour big improvement. Specially the shadows and correct lighting the ultra high settings is nice on the consoles sides for textures. But I do see ps5 had pop in loading like usual my pc and series x are fine

We can't be watching the same video. There is a huge difference. Choppy vs smooth, and the game went from low-medium settings to ultra PC equivalent. The old 4k mod is useless now and people loved that mod. Like, I am baffled people say they can't notice. Time to get your eyes checked.

Is there a way to get the Xbox one version on series x? It looks a little better when playing vanilla with the update, but the mods I was using break the game now, freezing, etc. I'd rather go back to the previous version that worked perfectly with the mods I was running.

The one things I noticed is that light sources are scattered and reflects a little bit better (I noticed the difference in my vault 88) The othet thing I noticed is the weather is a lot better sometimes, especially during sunsets where the sky would glow purple/yellow. Minor little things I also noticed is better performance (PC, 3070 Ti and R7 5700X, capped at 144 fps)

Convinced they did this so Fallout: London couldn't launch

i mean, it certainly doesn't look "next-gen" but the game running at 60 fps does make a huge difference when it comes to the gameplay imo i tried playing the game on ps4 last week and couldn't really get into it due to the choppy framerate and occasional crashes. this update at least makes it playable. it is no the witcher 3 but it is what it is.

So basically it's not "next gen", it's what they should have done 5 years ago... framerate/performance improvements, bug fixes and other minor stuff. There is no graphical enhancement such as the Wticher 3 real Next Gen update... Better than nothing I guess. Their marekting will never cease to amaze me! How they "sell" an idea and make people believe it's the actual product when it's not. Now they're better at making TV shows than Video Games lol.

I put my Series X in my bedroom where I have a 48 inch 1080p TV. I guess I won’t see the difference but at least the FPS got upgraded right. And I haven’t played Fallout 4 for so long I don’t remember anything and everything feels new even before this upgrade. Dunno if I should continue my game or start fresh. I just got the GoTY DLCs too which I haven’t played

Fallout London died for this, literally nothingburger as always from Bugthestda

I am playing it on the PS five the only difference is tiny bit of shadowing difference and 60 FPS we shouldn’t be surprised with what quality we get from Bethesda nowadays

Only difference ? Is 60 constant fps not a huge jump officialy especially for ps players ? Come on stop selling how smooth the game runs now you were expecting brand new graphics ? Come on be realistic only thing that matters was the performance which they improved by a mile

No Boston actually runs much better now.

I can see why they didn’t show any next gen footage before release, at least they improved the frame rate a bit

Are you playing the Xbox One version on your Series X ? this one runs enhanced at 4k/30. The original Xbox One runs at 1080/30. This is why we don´t see much of a difference.

Does anyone notice any drastic difference, other than the 60fps support?

How long ago was it that Bethesda announced the upgrade? Two years? And that's all? Just a 60 fps patch?

So they broke mods that already did everything they added and still couldn't bother to fix bugs or give a decent texture update... Nice, now I have to wait a few years for the modding community to fix everything they already fixed once. Just like Skyrim SE/LE

Looks 💯 percent identical and it already ran at 4k @60 on the series x with fps boost so this update was more for ps4 and 5 users

It ran 60fps 1080! Only with mods would it attempt to do 60fps with dynamic 4k! Witch was implemented pretty shitty! Screen tearing was too much to enjoy

I'm glad they fixed the lip sync issue during the dialogue!

Do you need start new game for that?

games almost ten years old, they could have at least given the dlc for free.

At 2:01 you can see the Vault-Tek logo pop in on the Van on the Next Gen version.

they messed up the texture on the vault door it shows the 200 year old one not the brand new one

This update killed the Auto HDR support, this absolutely sucks, essentially playing on an OLED display

Ps5 has bad sports with mods and it doesn't matter what is better ps5 and the xbox series x are the same

Not sure about the series s but on the x it works perfect even before the update

It looks good, i just dont understand why they swapped to a purple or magenta filter for the atomic bomb scene

I love the update. Made me want to fully restart the story and jump back in after 7 years of not playing it and I'm enjoying the hell out of it on my Series X

@@jamest6712 that kind of sucks cuz messing around with the load order is a pain in the ass and a chore in itself. There aren't any mods that auto load order your stuff . Puts me in the mindset of whether or not I should even update fallout 4 now until I see some really good mods.

Just a lighting fix but it feels like a big difference when you actually play especially at certain times of day
