Fallout 2d20 RPG - Core Rulebook Deep-Dive Review (Modiphius)

Yes, I'm aware that at the beginning of this video I say I'll take a somewhat different approach, and then proceed to go through the entire game in painstaking detail as per usual :) I could've edited that bit out, but I've left it in as a monument to my madness!
This is a long video for what is, ultimately, a very beefy game. This core rulebook covers a LOT of ground, and provides more crunch and player-facing rule sub-systems than most 2d20 titles. But for a property like Fallout, this level of detail feels right to me, and it's still got the 2d20 narrative elements and remains easier to learn than something like D&D.
For me, combined with the Settler's Guide and Wanderer's Guide (to be covered in future videos), Fallout 2d20 is my game of choice for post-apocalyptic mayhem. But in the weeks to come, we'll take a look at my other fave in this genre: Mutant Year Zero, which is less crunchy but still manages to capture the key elements of the genre, a fine line to tread which Free League is exceptionally good at treading with their games.
In any case, I hope this long and detailed look at Fallout 2d20 will be helpful for those of you interested in roleplaying in this rich world :) The extremely successful (and excellent) TV show has certainly driven a large uptick in sales for this game, which is a good thing IMO, as the game is well-made and very well supported.

Every little bit helps -- in my day job as a scientist, I make enough to pay the rent, but not much more! The stress of the job is killer, and RPGs and tabletop games are my escape. I guarantee every quid you send my way will be spent producing more and better content for you fine folks :)

For anyone having trouble finding the special dice and have Fate dice, just paint in one of the "-" signs in on each die, so that you have a 1 the (-) minus sign, "2" with a different color (-) minus sign, 2 "+" for the special symbols and 2 blanks, so they will match the challenge dice exactly. And you can still use them as Fate dice. The d20s are just normal d20s.
Thanks for the detailed reciew. Plans to present also twilight 2k 4e as a post apocalyptic game as well?
