    Thank you very much for fixing the technical problems Bjarne Stunning backdrop to the latest instalment of Bjarne's beautiful piece of the world as usual - its far better than the housing estate I got at the moment - your 572 sounds like it's preferring the cooler temps and your axe is still in one piece 😊 Thank you very much for making my Thursday 😊

    Thanks plays fine now. We found a Ponderosa that had the insides burnt out and was solid honey comb last year and was able to have a neighbor come out with his wife and move the queen and about 95% of the bees into a hive and transport them back to their house and they survived the move just perfectly.....of course we got all the honey comb and they helped us extract all the honey from it and we gave away a lot of Quart Jars last Christmas as gifts but we have enough natural honey and bees wax to last us quite a while now.

    Nicely done, thank you. The bees cracked me up, I've been in many nests and got many stings in the riggin. Quick question the one you drove below the pad; would it have worked to cut the uphill corner off and let it pull downhill?

  • @alanwatts9232
    @alanwatts9232 Жыл бұрын

    Thanks for another excellent video. As a hobby beekeeper you did well not to get stung. Bees dislike disturbance but they HATE petrol fumes. Most times if you give them space you should be fine. Perhaps you could put a light duty bee veil in your kit, hardly takes up any room, just to protect your face. Home made honey is the best.

  • @BjarneButler

    @BjarneButler

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes the hill crew get what we miss when bucking. Also heli jobs are only for high grade wood because of how expensive helicopters are. They would lose money on the smaller/ lower grade wood. But sometimes they bring in a smaller and cheaper helicopter for the small wood. Also depends on the transport costs and other things like stumpage, waste fee etc. I’m not an expert on that part of the logging industry

    You need an adapter “insert” for the stihl bars. I use the stihl light bars because I think they are the best bars on the market that are widely available in all saw shops here in the coast. I also think they have the best chain too. I’m not brand loyal, I’m “whatever is the best”loyal haha.

    Old school fallers used to axe away the bark so it didn’t blunt their hand crosscut saws. Modern fallers so they can see their cuts clearly in the rough bark and also to set wedges in firm wood. Sometimes to gain that extra few inches if cuts are just over bar length.
