I like it when you grab the cameras as you get a real sense of how tall the tree is before / as it falls. Can't please everyone.
Working Now! Thanks Love your vids man.
Love watching how you prep your cuts and how you explain why you do what you do with each tree. I've learned a bunch from watching and listening to your explanations. Thank you Bjarne
Thank you very much for fixing the technical problems Bjarne Stunning backdrop to the latest instalment of Bjarne's beautiful piece of the world as usual - its far better than the housing estate I got at the moment - your 572 sounds like it's preferring the cooler temps and your axe is still in one piece 😊 Thank you very much for making my Thursday 😊
Thanks Bjarne, because now MY wait is over and I’m enjoying it as I watch and type! 👍
Wow, I could feel the floor shake under my feet when those trees hit the ground. Your video work transports me to your site, and my hands are still vibrating from the chainsaw. Nice job, Jjarne.
"HOLY-MOLY" !! : BEES WOW that was close : another exciting video as always stay safe !! 👍👍
Bjarne, you, Sir, are the man the rest of us want(ed) to be. Always a treat to watch you work.

What a Gorgeous day! Nice work as always, thanks for posting.
Thanks brother I get to finally see this video and the waiting all day
I guess you cant get lost they marked the trial over kill I missed a few days so now I am watching the videos I missed sure is a nice view there and nice wood and for a change you are not on a cliff but looks like you have some bent trees there but for you that just makes it more fun lol great videos Bjame keep them coming and work safe
You control the camera, not the viewers You are still the number one Bjarne
❤ your videos hello from Nova Scotia been watching your videos for a few years now 😊
Falling rotten hemlocks is nerve racking , they are so unpredictable . My old Dad called those hollow trees flowerpots ,when he warned you “that area is full of flowerpots “ I knew exactly what he meant 👍🇨🇦
That tree you used to push away from the heli pad was horribly rotten. Lookout those bees will get ya. I have had to run like that before too.😂😂
Another well done video Thanks
Most badass guy on KZread bro stay safe‼️
Now it works, thanks bjarne great stuff
Awesome like always.
Another great video, thanks.
Ribbon guy loves his job😆👌
I like it when you pick up the camera up so we can follow the tree's down !... That's half the fun ...
Love watching your videos! One of my dreams to have a job like this! I work on a farm in quebec, I do some firewood logging in the winter, love it. But are trees are way smaller than yours hahahah! Keep living a good life godbless!
Mr Bjarne. my boy sawyer says hello... he's 4 😆 🤣 😂 he loves watching u cut trees. ❤ from pnw oregon
Thanks plays fine now. We found a Ponderosa that had the insides burnt out and was solid honey comb last year and was able to have a neighbor come out with his wife and move the queen and about 95% of the bees into a hive and transport them back to their house and they survived the move just perfectly.....of course we got all the honey comb and they helped us extract all the honey from it and we gave away a lot of Quart Jars last Christmas as gifts but we have enough natural honey and bees wax to last us quite a while now.

Wow that’s so cool. My mom is a big honey fan. She uses it for her daily tea
Nicely done, thank you. The bees cracked me up, I've been in many nests and got many stings in the riggin. Quick question the one you drove below the pad; would it have worked to cut the uphill corner off and let it pull downhill?
Thanks for another excellent video. As a hobby beekeeper you did well not to get stung. Bees dislike disturbance but they HATE petrol fumes. Most times if you give them space you should be fine. Perhaps you could put a light duty bee veil in your kit, hardly takes up any room, just to protect your face. Home made honey is the best.

Yeah I have been waiting for this to come back up..thank you for taking your time to share with us... Psst ...look at your title...lol
saw you sitting down on the job...LOL need to work harder....wish i could be there for just one day
Keep up the great work Bjarne, Your no nonsense straight up logging videos are what I enjoy! But definitely leave the camera on the ground when the tree goes over 😂. Just my opinion. Thanks again 👍
Your a lucky man bjarne beautiful view you have the best job in the world man 😎
Very nice videos What camera setup do you use
Videos are very good on 📺
Another awesome video Thanks Bjarne, Hey those pfanner pants you wear are they worth the high $, Do they make ones that aren't insulated? I always cut timber in old school jeans with hem cut off bottom but sucks in west washington coast weather in winter so wondering if the new synthetic pants are better? thanks man -RB
@elijahmcgregor9193
Жыл бұрын
Yes. To my knowledge pfanner doesn't make insulated pants. The reason they are hot is because of the cut resistant armor in the front.
@BjarneButler
Жыл бұрын
I also like the Phanner’s because the fabric stretches in the crotch . I like the zippered pockets and the compartments for knee pads
I feel a bit spoiled with all my rigging equipment now, there's no way I woulda touched that sketchy leaner without bullropes and anchor points to keep me from getting potentially crushed. Respect, you fellers get into some seriously sketchy scenarios, I would have been bricking it. I think I'll stick to arboriculture, that looked wicked sketch
Enjoy your vids ! How many chains do you use a day ? Or do you sharpen and keep using the same one?
@BjarneButler

Yes I use the same chain and use a round file
Yay
I spent 20 years logging in Oregon. I enjoy living vicariously with you. 60s and 70s 35:55 we were paid by production it appears your paid by the day? I guess that’s more common these days.
Like TAZ said below thank you for fixing the video. Always look forward to your next vid. Where are you all working? State, Province, region?

Bjarne when you are measuring the end of a tree what are you checking? Does it have anything to do with the age of the tree? Enjoy watching you and the scenery is awesome. Watch out for those killer 🐝. 👍👍👍

Hey Bjorne’ what is the all around best saw out there?
Finally working yay 😀.
Hey Bjarne Just out of curiosity: how sharp do you keep your axe?
👍👍
Hello Question what chain to use for hard wood. And what chain to use on pine wood. Also the different between the two chains Enjoyed your post.
@BjarneButler

I use the same chain for everything. It’s all in the filing(rakers)
For a 70cc saw that 572 rips.
Since you only buck logs to get them to liftable weight, when do the smaller ones get bucked and how is the brush/tops removed before transport to the mill?
@taztaz6539
Жыл бұрын
When the logging crew go in they top the little trees and then heli them out
@BjarneButler
Жыл бұрын
Yes the hill crew get what we miss when bucking. Also heli jobs are only for high grade wood because of how expensive helicopters are. They would lose money on the smaller/ lower grade wood. But sometimes they bring in a smaller and cheaper helicopter for the small wood. Also depends on the transport costs and other things like stumpage, waste fee etc. I’m not an expert on that part of the logging industry
Where is your ported 390XP at ? I hate the new saws . They just fill and sound gutless. I’m just old school a 394xp fills just right . I stil have 3 of them all original all still run perfect .

Hello Do you tune your saws. I have not seen one of your saw go dead yet. They stay running. Just asking were you set you low needle and high screw at. Enjoy your post.
@BjarneButler

I run the new saws that have auto-tune. When I used to run the 390’s I would turn the high speed screw up a bit so I could get higher rpm’s
I'm enjoying the video. What is your daily wage?
Bjarne, What chainsaw pants are you running? I've been in a pair of Clogger Defender 360's for ~ a year now, and, while they are super lightweight and breathable, they really haven't held up. I think they're intended more for arborist work. Yours look comparatively rip free!

Are you going to try out Donny Walker's new light bar?
@BjarneButler

is there an explanation to why you`re using a styl bar on a husqvarna powersaw, thught they were not compatable.
@BjarneButler
8 ай бұрын
You need an adapter “insert” for the stihl bars. I use the stihl light bars because I think they are the best bars on the market that are widely available in all saw shops here in the coast. I also think they have the best chain too. I’m not brand loyal, I’m “whatever is the best”loyal haha.

Sitting down on the job, BB? :D Edit; Now that you have an editor BB, grab a 2nd camera and mount it to your helmet. You'll be able to grab both shots of the fall then :) The editor could do some funky stuff with 2 shots :)

I’ve noticed that some loggers shave the bark. Why is that?
@BjarneButler
Жыл бұрын
So the dogs stick in better and so you can wedge farther into the tree
@neild7971
Жыл бұрын
Old school fallers used to axe away the bark so it didn’t blunt their hand crosscut saws. Modern fallers so they can see their cuts clearly in the rough bark and also to set wedges in firm wood. Sometimes to gain that extra few inches if cuts are just over bar length.

eh ? sittin' down on the job Eh!!! EWWWWWW ! I hate bees ....why don't you carry "BeeKill" aerosol can, not very heavy, and squirts a 12-14 FOOT stream kills 'em DEAD !...I fell for years and was never without it..... LOL fun stuff ....OnWard.....
