To think that she was 19 and he 37 when the movie was filmed is incredible, she looks older in the movie cause she is acting so mature and have a soul of an older person, that's a thing you can listen in her songs. Great music and movie, sad ending though. Too watch two persons, made for each other, separate apart by fear and the difficulties of life, is heartbreaking

The story is extremely heartbreaking. Which is why I love it. It really stresses the difficulties of life. Life isn't all shits and giggles. Life and relationships are beautiful things, but every rose has it's thorn.

I don't think it was a sad ending at all, actually. Hopeful? Refreshing? Yes. Sad? Nah. I loved that it didn't end all cliche with them getting together. Shows that there are different kinds of love and they deserve to have their stories told, too. They weren't made for each other in a romantic sense. But they were meant to be in each other's lives. Beautiful.

One day I was looking through baby pictures when I realized that there were none of me. In fact there’s a whole book of cute photos of my big sister. I started to feel super down and it soon got worse. My sister and dad have a special song that they play a lot in the car, over and over again...it’s called Chasing Cars. Of course I love that song, but I just wished I had something like that with dad. Then, one day I asked my father if we had a “special song” or something like that, his response was something simple like, “I’m not sure” or “maybe...” Fast forward a couple of weeks, my dad comes rushing towards me yelling for me to listen to this song. He said when I was a baby he’d hold me up and dance with me to Falling Slowly...💕 I’m still a little depressed I guess, but for my birthday I got the best gift I could ever ask for. A baby book! Filled with amazing pictures downloaded from the computer of my tooth-less smile... I know nobody will read this, but if you do have a great day, my friend ❤️

The fact that its been 12 years since this movie was released and its still a hidden gem to most is just criminal. One of the best movies ever made. There is no finer film that utilises song to express the broken souls and unspoken affection of two individuals. To anyone who's stumbled upon this by accident do yourself a favour and lose yourself in this film. Or if you've got enough time watch this back to back along with Lost In Translation and Before Sunset. It'll change your life.

I halfheartedly watched this movie back in 2013..and now it is 2022.. Two nights ago i watched the movie without double speeds and skips .. The dynamics of the story .. is simply amazing .. The guy who stayed with them while recording .. i so love how he smiled while he listened to their songs ..he even called them " bunch of oddballs" ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Everything about this song breaks my heart. The lyrics, the music, the voices, the harmony. Its PERFECT.

I just watched this gem and expected an average movie but my god was I blown away. Such an incredibly bittersweet movie that had me hooked from the first scene, and each song was so incredibly put together. It's one of those rare movies I consider as close to perfect as it gets to the point I'd give it 10/10

I closed my eyes on this song and I've never been happier (: this used to be my favorite song. last year on Easter,I went to walmart with my dad and was listening to this song. I wanted to wake his family and him up for a breakfast surprise. I played this song over and over again when I was with him because it was my favorite song. He is no longer here with me now. :'( this is the first time I listened to this song since last Easter. I played it, closed my eyes, and thought of him. It was the happiest I've ever been since then.it brings me back to that day.

So happy I found this song. I’ve known this tune since I was a small child and I’ve hummed it all throughout my life. I don’t ever remember listening to it when I was small but I’m 18 now and this song speaks to my soul the most more than any song I’ve listened to and I couldn’t be more happy :)

I remember hearing this song in London in 2014. I've heard this song dozens of times before, but it came as a totally different song as I walked through the streets in London... This song has been playing in my head for the whole day, so I come and listen to it. It is true, the song carries memories and stories, it is indeed an unspeakable experience to feel the weight of a song once again many years later.

I just rediscovered this song after 7 or 8 years. my parents would play this in the car anytime we went anywhere and my memories are mostly triggered by sounds. Nobody cares or will read this but I have very few memories from being young even though I'm a teen. There was a traumatic event that happened to me and my family when I was 9 and that sort of is my marker for all my memories and blocked everything before that out so I have little to no memories of when my life was genuinely good and happy. This and a few other songs bring me back to that time and it's always a little sad but I am always grateful for them. this is such a beautiful song and I love it. Thank you for sharing this.
