the beauty of music, is if its done right, the message can be related to other things then just the writers intention, you can take this song and place it over any mental illness

With hypochondria your mind is basically a prison telling you something is wrong with you when you are completely fine it’s a struggle between giving in to the thought that something is wrong with you or to keep fighting back with you’re completely fine it makes you paranoid like severely you wanna choose a side but you can’t because your brain is sending out the wrong signals

I caught that. Well at first I was like Harley Quinn! But realized he does use culture in his videos at times. But like he’s “trapped” imprisoning himself by the voices. The door is closed in the beginning but open at the end. I wonder if at the end where the doors open, but he’s still in the cell, that it’s a metaphor for he can escape but the voices or himself keeps him imprisoned within his own mind? I’ve realized with Ronnie, there is meaning behind many things in his videos, which is honestly refreshing. He’s extremely intelligent and kind of genius with his music and how he expresses himself through a video

Ronnie has stated that this song is about health anxiety (colloquially known as hypochondria). The thing about his lyrics and music is that many people from many backgrounds and situations can related. I don't have health anxiety. But I do have anxiety, depression, and PTSD. And I related to this song from a completely different perspective. And I love that about music. It truly is universal. Also, I've haven't seen a reactor notice that the cell door is shut in the beginning of the video but open at the end.

The one thing I noticed on the song is he keeps checking his pulse. I think that that is a very important message. I really love the Easter eggs in this song. The zombie on the cell phone. The lights in the sky before he gets hit by the car. The license plate on the car. There may be more, but I probably miss them.

I have seen this reaction! It was from Ronnie reacting to you. I remember the South Korea TikTok information. It’s hypochondria, but I would not have figured that out but I heard him say it. Then when you watch u see him check his pulse 3 times. Have you done Zombified? If not you’d like it. It was after Popular Monster and before Voices in my head.

@@ChanelStuff he said at first he did all of them, then seemed to think about it a minute and said all but maybe one (or something similar). It is probably still on his Twitch. I think it was the first Twitch he did after a fairly long break.

Definitely MGK imo...listen to the lyrics and look at what he's wearing. Plus ronnie is friends with Corey Taylor. MGK was pretty disrespectful to Slipknot. I've watched his twitch streams where reactors have questioned it and he never confirms or denies it. If it wasn't about him I think he would have said so by now and explained it 🤷‍♀️ 🤔

Popular monster will always be my favourite. When I discovered the song I had just lost my dad a month before so I had this deep connection to the song in regards to how I struggled with my mental health even before losing my dad and how it nose dived even more after. I will forever have that connection to that song and Ronnie but this is definitely my 2nd on the list 👌🥺

Can't find my comment to edit, so reposting: I don't see stupid dances/etc on TikTok, I've set up my algorithm with likes and views to show me the COOL side of TikTok US, including lots of GenX content, MH content, Spirituality, and cool ass cosplayers. Oh, and CelinaSpookyBoo and KallMeKris and TikTok'ers like them. MH hits men worse than women. They're often raised to be "strong", and taught that they can't show their inner emotions. This creates an absolute vortex of MH issues inside, when they feel that sharing their troubles is wrong. Remember - all humanity has emotions. To bottle up those feelings is part of why MH is such a major issue today. Too many people refuse to talk about it, instead taking the "I don't wanna talk about it" route Ronnie ends this song with.
