Fall Recipes - Continued!!! Pie, Two Soups, Hot Chocolate Mix
HOT CHOCOLATE MIX
1 cup cocoa
2 cups powdered sugar
2 cups powdered milk
(We use about 1/4 cup of this per small mug of hot water. But you could do more of the mixture per water if you like it stronger and sweeter!)
PUMPKIN PIE
1 can pumpkin puree
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 eggs
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
2 Tbsp brown sugar
Mix all the ingredients together and put in a pie shell. (Papa likes Pillsbury!) Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes. Then change temp to 350 for 40 minutes until knife comes out clean.
DUTCH SOUP
2 pounds stew beef (or other meat of your choice)
Boil in 4 cups water with one package of Knorrs vegetable mix OR use 8 cups water and TWO Knorrs vegetable soup mix if you want more soup.
If you use one package of the soup mix, use 1 beef bullion cube.
If you use two packages of the soup mix, use 2 beef bullion cubes.
(I cooked this first part in the pressure cooker for 20 minutes, high pressure.)
Meat balls…
1 pound ground beef
1 tsp salt
Fresh parsley
1/4 tsp nutmeg
Put meatballs into the soup and let them cook as well as 2-3 carrots chopped up.
(We cooked this all together in the pressure cooker for 10 minutes, high pressure.)
Serve over egg noodles. We also added some cooked potato chunks to leftovers and that was a big hit!
ITALIAN SOUP
1 pound bacon
2-3 pounds sausage
1 small onion
1 Tbsp minced garlic
4 cups chicken broth
2 cups water
radishes
Heavy whipping cream
Kale, chopped
Cook bacon. Remove from pan and cook sausage. Remove from pan and cook onion and garlic in the remaining grease. Add broth, water, and radishes. Cook on a low boil for 15-20 minutes or until radishes are soft. Return meat to the pot, stir in cream, and add kale.
Hope you guys enjoy these recipes as much as we enjoyed making them together!

Your Dad is fantastic & he’s making me wonder if I should try to make a pumpkin pie too! We don’t have those in the UK. Also when your Dad said “Alexa 10 minutes” my echo dot said “Setting 10 minutes” that’s so funny, she’s never repeated anything from a KZread video before!
Micah is so focused - I think he will love to cook. And he loves his grandpa 💜

So sorry about your parents. I know I am blessed to have them.
I love Micah as Grandpa’s cooking buddy!Warms my heart. As soon as my granddaughter could sit next to me in my kitchen we started “The Krislyn and Grandma’s Cooking Show”.We faced the brick wall sitting at the island cooking. We pretended we had an audience just like Rachel Ray.As she and my grandson Christopher turned 9or so,he spoke up and said,”I want on the show!(he was so serious)😂He then became my baking partner.🥰They are now 14 and 15 and have a real gift in both areas. And they still come over to do our show.😍❣️🙌🏼🙌🏼
Looks like someone needs his own cooking youtube channel 🙂 Sarah your dad is great!

I love that Micah is your Dad's sous chef! He really seems to enjoy cooking.
Growing up my dad was always cooking in the kitchen , he taught me so much , I lost him when I was 14 years old , I’m 59 now and watching your dad has brought all my fond memories flooding back xxxx please give him a hug from me xxx 😍😘🥰😍😘🥰😍😘🥰
I love your Dad and Mom. Too cute.
When my 5 children where teenagers they had massive appetites and big meat eaters I was a single mum I worked I think back how did I afford that lol love watching your dad cook
You can tell that your dad is very passionate about cooking. That’s a major blessing. Priceless moments 💕
Your dad is an amazing man. I lost mine years ago so appreciate every day you have him
"This is mine, get your own" lol🤣
Love your dad! He's so fun & just draws me in every time he's on here!!
Because I'm disabled and restricted to bed I fill many hours of each day. Your channel is, by far, my favorite. I especially enjoy the way you allow your children to be involved in cooking. No matter where life takes them, they will be able to cook these family meals, and share much loved stories of time spent with your parents. Sarah, your dad epitomizes how a true grandparent shares his life stories. Due to a profound injury my mom spent a month with my brother in a large Grand Rapids hospital. Mom got to know many families in the family room. Mom came home with many recipes like your dads. It's been well over 50 years but they all came flashing back listening to your dad. One of my favorite ways to enjoy Vernon's is to add a scoop of rich vanilla ice cream to a glass. Yummo!!
For real your dad should have his own cooking show!! Sooo entertaining and informative! Love watching him.
I could watch your dad cook for hours. He's a natural in front of the camera, and the food looks amazing!
Love ❤️ Sarah’s dad! He needs his own channel!
Your dad is absolutely delightful.. What spirit he has.. Lovely to watch. And your children are just beautiful 💕
Ive had a very stressful week and the videos with your dad in them....made me laugh and destress... i just love your family so much...thank you all for just being yourselves...
It looks like you've got a great sous chef in training! I love seeing the support and love your parents so evidently portray.
I love watching videos when your parents visit! Your dad is hilarious. Micah's expressions are priceless, especially the one he makes when your dad tosses the extra salt on the counter. I always look forward to watching your sweet family. You are so blessed!
I enjoyed your Dad in sharing these soup recipes. I love good soup in the winter time. Beautiful family. Thanks for sharing.
Your dad is such a hoot! I could watch him cook all day! What no bacon grease??? Thats a southern staple! Brings back memories of my grandmother's cooking!

I love watching your dad and mom....I lost my dad a few years back to cancer and watching your daddy makes me so happy - thank you for sharing your family ❤️

I really enjoyed your mom & dad...My father has passed and your dad was like a hug. My dad lived in Fl too and only used Tabasco sauce as well. I really just enjoyed the family interaction. It allowed me to go down memory lane. Thank you!🥰
I have a Pumkpin Dump Cake that calls for almost the exact same filling recipe. It is delicious. PUMPKIN DUMP CAKE 1 spice, yellow, white or butter pecan cake mix. We prefer the spice cake but they all are good. 15 oz can pumpkin 2 eggs 1 can sweetened condensed milk 1/4 cup brown sugar 1.5 tsp pumpkin pie spice 1 stick cubed butter Grease a 9x13 pan. In a bowl mix the pumpkin, eggs, milk, sugar And pumpkin pie spice. Pour into the pan. Sprinkle the dry cake mix on top the filling. Top with the cubed butter. Bake at 375 for 45 to 55 minutes. You can add 1 cup of chopped nuts but add them half way thru the cooking. Otherwise they get too brown and are bitter. Serve warm.

Sorry to be a downer but my family could seriously use all the prayers and well wishes we could possibly get right now. The best lady in the world, my aunt was in a very bad accident and is currently on life support. I believe in the power of prayer! I've reached out to everyone I know personally and it just doesn't feel like enough. We cant lose her so if you could take a minute to pray for her, my family would appreciate it more than you know! -Mandy

Amazing!! I'm excited to try some of these recipes!! Dog tip: teach nessa not to go into the kitchen. It's been the best decision I've ever made with my dogs. No tripping over dogs, dropping hot food on them, or them eating scraps that are dangerous for them. Not to mention, no hair in my kitchen around the food 😄
