WHAT IN THE SOUL PUNK IS HAPPENING ON THIS TRACK? It's like Earth Wind and Fire had a love child with Soul Punk and I'm so here for it! Holy shit, I'm so thankful for this song bc I live in regret everyday knowing I didn't get to see Soul Punk live. Hopefully hearing this song live will remedy that ache a little bit. ;) Also, this song is such a mood. It's so fun and bouncy with just a bit of that crushing realism underneath it all that makes this song so perfectly real (very "Dance Miserable"). I can't wait to blast this cuz it's awesome. :))

this song definetely has a special place in me. it has popping bright sound (like 'dancing in september') but the lyrics are incredibly nostalgic, kinda lonely and sad. new FOB album seems keep on mentioning serotonin and that is rlly smthng i relate to as someone who lacks it and suffers from the effects mentally. Two years ago I had to face the deaths of my grandparents, and a very close friend who was like a brother to me, after all these months of therapy i'm starting to see the colours again in a world that was absolutely grim, i'm really glad FOB released this, matching my feelings and making me feel even more satisfied with myself

so far the best track of the album, imo... the jive is cool

FOB should make a music video to What A Time To Be Alive that's like, exactly like one of those dance workouts from during lockdown. Slowly heighten the contrast with the dance workout so you figure out when it is. Snapshots that flow into each other. Kids running in the background, pan to random kicked-out cousin staying in the garage failing to medidate, pan to husband delivery driving and scrubbing his hands every time he gets back in the car who touches a pic of his dad in the car, pan to dad in the hospital videocalling with mom, pan to nurse getting home and puts on the workout while she eats food delivery. But the nurse gets home, and home, and home, and it's snippets of different workouts until we're in present day. And the apocolypse is still going.

This album sounds like a mix of classic FOB and Patrick’s solo album and it’s Awesome!

The genius of this song is you don't know whether to celebrate the high points of the past because they happened, or sit in sorrow and pity because 2020 took so much away from us.
