    People don't talk about how incredibly talented Joe and Andy are enough. I mean, don't get me wrong, Patrick and Pete are super talented, and I know that. But no one ever talks about Joe and Andy. I feel like if you love a band you shouldn't pick favorites.

    Funny story about that. My family and I were sitting up front and when he said that line, my children and I all did the "lick, lick salute" from the video and it made Patrick chuckle. EVERYONE! Andy is in a glass case because drums tend to drown a lot of the guitars/bass/vocals out. The glass house thing is to contain the noise of the drums so patrick, pete, and joe's mics don't pick up the drums. Thus making more clarity in the recording. This is needed especially in a live broadcast. Don't worry andy's drums are mic'd. FALL OUT BOY FOREVER :D

    I'm noticing more - more-so nowadays, post hiatus - how little Pete bothers to accurately play his songs live. The bass in this has none of the subletly's of the recording, the open A as the 8th note in the verse, the hammer-ons in the bridge... Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes is the worst example. I saw that live back in '09, he played it nearly perfectly while strumming across the bridge, it was spectacular - and nowadays he just plays mess in the verse and bridge, no fills or anything. It's completely different to the recording, he just doesn't bother. Kindof disappointing as he inspired me to pick up learning bass in the first place.

  • @platexproductions

    @platexproductions

    Жыл бұрын

    @@kleinkaufman8940 I wish you could have seen him play before the hiatus. He was messy as hell, but he was able to do insane movements with his left hand muting strings and strumming across the neck, and making it look cool doing so. He used to do subtle up-slides on the ends of notes that could sound like sliding down... he's not the dumbass you think. The whole thing was done with a casual punk carelessness, which stood out against the endless ranks of boring insecure losers stood with one foot on the speaker, palm glued to the bridge etc that we had at the time. Not to mention, screaming isn't shouting. He was the vocalist in a metal band before Fall Out Boy. Why would the 8th note being the open string have anything to do with palm muting? :L

  • @platexproductions

    @platexproductions

    Жыл бұрын

    @@kleinkaufman8940 "he just slides his hand without even strumming so there's no sound" Between this and the palm muting comment, I'm convinced you don't actually play bass.
