I have used Rt233 many times. Camped at Caledonia St Park as a Boy Scout @ 1966. Always wanted to play the Golf course there. Been through there many times on Rt 30.In Mt Aldo there was a State Hospital A friend of my parents worked there in the 40s. Rt 30 is a very scenic highway going west from Gettysburg. Climbing Sideling Hill, what most State Roads were like before Interstates.

Just love your adventures. A gift from God. I have a number of ancestors in Pennsylvania in Luzerne county. Spent some time there researching.

I love driving down country roads and see the beautiful fall foliage.

I had alot of great memories at Tuscarora State Park, the lake. My grandmother whom grew up in Morea, off of Burma Road, used to take the whole family for picnics and swimming there when I was very young. Beautiful sceneries, Pa is such a beautiful state to live in. We have so many state parks, places to enjoy. Just cruising the back roads are amazing. Thanks for the journey. Brought back awesome memories of family outings and my grandmother who I miss terribly.

Now this was a lo ely cruise through some very scenic scapes. Ground cover surrounding the Iron Furnace at Caledonia S Park was the bomb. Then, you went on to your last stop, and you wouldn't believe it, but I love Gazebos, the bigger the better. Just a question...are any of those trees not colour changing evergreen? That green inter mixed with red and gold is just a perfect drop through your windscreen...this route is the best so far.

It's sold at Cabelas or Bass pro shops, brand is called Red Head.

It's pronounced "PURRIE county".

Our mountains in PA aren't very awe inspiring compared to VA and NC and of course CO and WA, but the countryside is beautiful. I always feel a bit melancholy when the leaves change, knowing that winter is around the corner. The only good part is that spring eventually comes. That was a beautiful ride.
