Fall Bass Fishing: Trick To Target Offshore And Suspended Bass!
Спорт
Come along as we smash big bass offshore! We're targeting Spotted Bass and Largemouth suspending around offshore structure and the bite is wide open! Tim catches them on everything from a crankbait, to a dropshot, to a topwater on this wide open bite!
Suspended bass are the final frontier of bass fishing. Targeting these open water creatures is extremely difficult and until recently, required incredible work, timing, and a little luck. The advancements in forward facing sonar have opened the door further but it still requires finely honed skills to catch these fish consistently.
Below you'll find links to the exact baits and equipment Tim used to catch these fish. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

beautiful day on the water, Tim! It’s very similar fishing like Lanier. 👍👍
Headed out to fish this morning, having a coffee and some breakfast watching a Tactical Bassin video before heading out! It’s 32 degrees outside haha. Let’s goooo tight lines boyz!!!

Tim, Spots are the wild child of bass and can be so predictable and so unpredictable. This is a great time of year to fish for them and I really enjoyed being able to watch you smash them. Thanks Tim.

That is such a badass technique, crankin an hitting the tops of the trees! Frank Scalish did a deep dive on this technique on Bass Talk Live, so freakin cool!! One day I’ll have a boat an be able to do all this stuff!!
I have never seen spots that big. Great video.
Great video so far. I have to watch it in sections, as I am at work. Still, great content, definitely worth the wait. Peace.

Hey one thought: for your on the water videos could you try showing clips from the chart to show what you saw that drew you there? Hard to do sometimes without blowing up spots but if you're able that would be interesting.

I would like to see more of your electronics when describing what you're fishing. I know you've done so in the past, but would actually like to see more of your settings, how you use them to find spots, etc. You pulled up to a spot today and mentioned never fishing there. What mapping/electronics did you use (if not just gut or visual on your own) to pick this area?
Great video

Tim, you and Matt have gotten much better about mentioning when you are fishing Chickamaugua. What lake is this for reference? Thank you
Just got off of lake Hamilton for a week testing out all new electronics. Wish i could post pictures here. Four garmin gpsmaps, new heading sensor, livescope on a seperate pole.. powered by dedicated lifepo4 battery. Livescope box powered by a seperate 20v lithium battery. All this on a sleeper boat. Stare at Sideview mark spots, turn around spotlock, livescope, cast right on top of em first cast everytime. Got bit on nearly every brush pile, ditch, and rockpile. Couldn't be happier with fall fishing right now.
Excellent
Those are huge spots !
Thank you Tim. Going to your old Stopping grounds.BULLARDS BAR Thursday morning...

Tim: quick question on the choice of spoon vs deracoup? can you maybe talk about differences and the why behind the choice?

I usually have both rigged up. I typically cast and retrieve the dercup and vertically fish the spoon.
Why to stick em papa! Great job Tim.I had my pb on the tactical 210, and the fish jumped at the boat! I was a foot from the net she was was 7.5,0to 8 all day! Just changed to 1.0 st 36.I hope I can keep em pinned better.

Do you ever go out without a sonar, research topography maps, and try to find them the old fashioned way?
Hey Tim, Ive recently picked up a Alderbaron BFS XG and was wondering about line selection. Is braid to leader still preferable? Im currently setup with 10 LBS braid to 6 LBS fluorocarbon leader mostly for small paddle tail swimbaits on a Okoshira Screwhead or an underspin. I'm on a smallmouth fishery in the Pacific Northwest. THANKS

This video is educational in the sense that tim is explaining the behavior of the fish while watching them on livescope. We need more of this instead of the, movement of people screaming that they hate livescope and how its cheating

Tim, I know you and Matt always preach about the G Loomis 906cbr as the go to rod for crankbait fishing. I listened and have decided that it will be my next purchase but they seem to always on back order. Then now I see that you are using a St Croix to deep crank in this video. How does it compare to the G Loomis? Just wondering about that St Croix because you got me now seconding guessing my decision. Please help. Thanks.

Both are great rods. That 906 has been our standard for a very long time and it's an incredibly reliable crankbait rod. That said, we are always on the search so our information can be as accurate as possible. Both are great but we have a ton more time on the 906, there is a reason it's sold out most of the time.
Not sure if y’all throw this but in NC a war eagle 1/4 Shakey head and a zoom green pumpkin green trick worm is money for spots catch a lot of big ones to

Also just went to Florida for family vacation and we took a day for morning guided trip on Lake Toho and ripped some lips. Caught around 40-50 in 2.5hrs on grass lines with live shiners. First time I have ever used live bait to catch bass and the biggest shiners I’ve ever seen 😂😂
❤
Do you go to the spots where are you fish Before and use live scope now see what you were missing
How come I still catch 1 lbers all the time with a 5.25 big EZ? Is this where hook size and placement within the body of the bait makes the difference? I use a 4/0 for the 5.25.

@@FreedomFishing I love my Pats . I have 2. 0ne is an old school wooden they don't make anymore, and I have a 7.75 in just measured it composite crank down. The crank down dives to 5 ft probably and my wooden one is basically a tighter, better made Slammer X2. I've been pond hoping at night throwing the tactical 210 and a 7.5 in wooden 3 PCs pat's. The Pat's has been the ticket mainly because I've been fishing culverts and small inlets. The Tactical 210 is also an amazing bait, but it's bigger, louder, and heavier which for my situation lends it to windier, prefrontal, rainy conditions, or over deeper water. Pats perch is a New England Slayer. It's hard to get, tons of hype, and the Crank down in New England produces huge prespawn fish every year up here. You can go on my Facebook or my buddy Mike Salvidios Facebook and see plenty of Pats perch picks. He's got an 8.7oz in central MA and that's damn good considering were iced in from Dec till April.
How long do you normally spend on no bites before you switch to a new lure? Also that looks like an amazing day to be on the water
