Why this post caught my attention ... a RM (mate of yours) of the Falklands War was my Family Liasion Officer when my son was killed. Op TELIC on 21-03-2003. Broke my heart. He was magnificent in all his duties for years to come, an honourable man to be trusted. Eased my grief. Cannot throw his name out here, but Ian R. My son was a RM too, from Cape Town RSA ❤️

I remember as a kid watching this war unravel on TV. What a sad event overall for all. I remember the exocet missles hitting the Sheffield. Terrible.

Sad for many, but as a kid I felt only pride that our lads had defeated the invaders and liberated the islanders from tyranny. It was clearly a just war, and the good guys won. There haven't been too many of those since.

I couldn’t agree more. I believe we could definitely accomplish just as much as we did in the Falklands if not more so if we were actually allowed to do what is right today and help Ukraine fight for his freedom and democracy. Even though it is not our territory, it is probably just as important that we do this today which is so close as we did to protect our own territory of the Falklands thousands of miles away.

Remember it well and watching it daily… The cost cutting cheap ships and poor quality soldiers boots ect, made battles harder than they should have been, and loss on life on ships …

There is plenty of pattern '58 gear still available. I would have thought it better to have the guys wear this than modern Army Cammo Bergan's as the effect would be so much more dramatic. No weight needed, just padding, then how good would that rear facing pic with the Union Jack would have looked. Respect to you all gentlemen and thank you.

The first guy was issues an M16? I thought the SAS only got those at the time

I was a Royal at that time but didn’t go down, my oppo who I trained with me at CTCRM PK Wilson was mentioned in dispatches. All the British service involved in this just war were hero’s, right down to the Chinese laundry on board ship. Unfortunately this is a war that’s being lost as time goes by.

En otro contexto muy semejante, claro guardando las proporciones, es lo que le está pasando a Putin ahora. Вокруг города сосредоточено большое количество танков ВСУ, в самом городе очень много иностранных наёмников, но самое важное , что солдаты ВСУ переодеты в форму Армии России и на руке и ноге у них повязаны белые ленточки, как это есть у русских солдат. Но, говорят все на жутком Украинском. Всё это похоже на то, что эти нацисты замышляют жуткую провокацию. Я не исключаю, что они и на свою технику могут нанести тактические знаки "Z" или "V", как нанесено на технике Армии России. Предположительно, украинские власти готовят Одессе кровавую бойню - когда озверевшие нацики и наёмники в форме Русской Армии будут массово расстреливать, взрывать, грабить, бомбить, сжигать Одессу вместе с мирными жителями - чтобы заснять и показать всему миру "кровавые зверства русских оккупантов". Там не забыли дом профсоюзов, и знают, что одесситы душой за правду. Русских войск здесь и в помине нет. Одесса находится под полным контролем ВСУ и ТерОбороны. Просьба максимальный репост, чтобы все узнали о возможном преступлении, которое готовят нацисты против одесситов.

Los argentinos nunca tuvieron soberanía allí, hasta los españoles tuvieron soberanía allí, pero no los argentinos... lo que hicieron los argentinos fué siempre reemplazar la bandera británica allí presente por la bandera argentina, y todas las veces que Argentina hizo eso en cuestión de días los británicos zarparon en misión especial de sacar la bandera argentina y reponer la bandera británica, poner tu bandera para representar soberanía sólo basta para ti mismo, porque ningún estado te va a reconocer eso como "tener soberanía"... es el equivalente a que yo vaya a tu casa, abra tu refrigerador y le coloque mi nombre a tus yogurts para representar propiedad, yo tranquilamente me voy a comer el yogurt de igual manera...
