Falken Wildpeak A/T4W in Snow, Rain, and Towing an Enclosed Trailer - The Performance is Awesome!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

These are everything you'd expect from a Falken tire. I'm loving them. More updates coming. I only have a few thousand miles so far but I wanted to update you on how they're handling terrible weather. #tires #offroad #trucks

    Good video. I love my AT3s but feel like they are wearing a bit faster than I'd like. Time will tell but when it's time to replace them, the new AT4 is top on my list. My experience with the AT3s in the snow is the same as yours, one of the if not the best ATs in the snow.

    Good review..thanks. My AT3's are coming to their end and I ordered the AT4's...just don't have my 37 12.5x20 size as of yet. Hopefully in about 1.5-2 months or I will have to get something else.

    just got the at4w on my subaru and will be headed up to the mountains today to try them out. looking forward to the stronger sidewalls since ive punctured a few here on these Colorado trails. These weigh about 3 lbs more than the at3w (in my size) so we will see if I feel the difference. update - went from 25mgp with the blizzaks to 22 with these. tires have been amazing, but they do pick up a lot of rocks in the tread

    It's a heavier tire but it's also harder material which equates to better mpg vs softer material my guess its Close.mpg

    @noctilucent7396 yep! and as an update , Tires worked incredibly well in a foot of snow. They did amazing in mud but have not taken them on trail yet. I am averaging .5 MPG higher with these than with my Blizzak snow tires. good buy for sure!

    I've got Falken WP M/Ts in a 33" (LT285/70R17) @ 61.3#/ea on my Jeep Gladiator. Looking to move up to a 35x11.50R17, but wanting to hold down the noise & the MPGs. At Discount Tire, these A/T4s are $314.00 /ea @ 68.5#/ea. TOYO AT3s are an option at only 63#, but $368/ea. --- Feedback?

    Go skinnier like 255, tall skinny is better for offroad anyway and drastically helps save on weight. Wide fat tires absolutely murder MPG etc.

    @@noctilucent7396 - That’s silly! For the size tire that i desired i selected Toyo AT3s (not a soft compound tire in E load) saved approximately 14 pounds per tire compared to the Wildpeak 4s. That’s a significant increase in rolling mass and its undesirable effects (poor fuel economy, sluggish acceleration, poor handling, poor braking etc, increased wear and tear on suspension, etc…)! A harder tire compound does NOT negate the effects of increased tire WEIGHT! Where did you find that erroneous information (which incidentally contradicts a century of proven science).

  • @noctilucent7396

    @noctilucent7396

    @Bacnow The harder rubber compounds help negate potential loss of mpg by reducing the amount of energy loss as heat during tire deformation. When a tire rolls its tread and sidewalls flex, causing energy to be converted into heat. This energy loss results in lower fuel efficiency. A harder rubber compound resist flexing more effectively. Minimizing the amount of energy loss and thus.... helps maintain better fuel efficiency.

    @@noctilucent7396 - Most all terrain tires (which are typically load range E) sport a harder compound! A harder compound in a tire COULD grant you a very slight increase in MPG that may not even be noticeable for the average driver! An increase in weight (rolling mass) WILL result in a noticeable decrease in fuel economy, acceleration, braking performance, handling, etc… You should probably do some additional research (to discover what most of us have through experience) before spouting that nonsense!
