Several years ago my dad got me a falconry experience as a birthday present. In the first 10 minutes, before we'd seen any birds, the falconry guy had shown us a slideshow talk that included the falcon sex hats and explained how they were used. It was a weird way to start the day.

For those curious, the reason for the falcon hats is because falconry requires raising the falcons from birth, so they imprint on humans, meaning they don’t have any interest in other falcons. So it is actually necessary, at least until they find a way to do it without the need for direct human involvement.

The one time my message is read live and it ended up with falcon sex hat. God, I love these guys
