Falco - Rock Me Amadeus (12 Extended Version Dance)
• Falco - Rock Me Amadeu...
Hi Travis and Suzi! This is Part 1 of a two-part series I’m calling “Amadeus.” Part 1 is the song “Rock Me Amadeus” by Falco, and Part 2 is the music of Mozart that I believe inspired Falco and on which I think his song is constructed. I won’t spoil Part 2, but pay close attention to the synth riff in this song as it is the inversion or upside down version of what you’ll hear in the strings in Mozart’s music featured in Part 2. Also, the tempo is close to that of the Mozart work, and the key is in “A” minor, which is the relative minor of “C” major that Mozart’s piece is in. I love that this video uses the vinyl LP. I gotta tell you guys - I have a real thing for vinyl. You know what I mean? C’mon, you know what I mean… April 29, 2023 at

There were a few months in 1986 that you absolutely could not get away from this song. Heavy rotation on the radio and MTV.

I remember
I was in junior high when this came out and it was everywhere. I don't think I ever saw the movie but the video and song you could not get away from. I feel lucky to have come of age in a time when pop music was actually good and interesting.
Haven't heard this version in ages. Thank you!
Wow a 80 ‘s song a big song for me in high school
Was hoping you'd be doing the official video. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, one of if not the greatest composure of all time. If you have not seen the movie "Amadeus", please do. It is outstanding with the music, drama, humor, and history. There was both German and English versions of this, but even in the US the German was much more popular.
*SUPER....💥💫🤟*
damn, I used to hear this song all the time, I had forgotten it existed, now I suggest Murray Head's "One night in Bangkok"
The Greatest Austrian Superstar ever !!!! Worldwide Megahit in the Charts !!!!
Please the original version and original video. Falco was an Artist !
My favorite version!
😂 he sent you the long version good you deserve to hear all of it
I love this song ❤
Falco was awesome. I was a total 80’s underground dance club kid. Started sneaking in aged 14 in 1983…through 1988 I clubbed and it was awesome. Sadly Falco the singer died aged 42 in a car accident.
'1985 Austrian rock singer Falco, records Rock Me Amadeus Amadeus Amadeus Amadeus...' One of my favorite 12" with the great B-side 'Urban Tropical'.
Oh wow I definitely had a flashback🤪 the fair in the 80s was the place to be 😁
Nice reaction video, i enjoy watching it 👍
I love the informative narration outlining the years in Mozart's early life. Apparently when 5 he composed a 5 part fugue, a complex musical piece for a small child.
Guy you do the Best reaction video out there.
FAIRDINKUM! I'd love to get on the turps with you two. I reckon it's be a RIOT. You both make the music so much fun. Love ya's!
Great ! 👍🏻🙂
This 12" version is OK for a club or if you want to hear just a beat, but I prefer the lyrics (even if it isn't in english) and energy of the original. I've been told there is an english version, though I've never heard it. Should check out the video.
Dr. Zaius Dr. Zaius!!

Out around the same time and along the same odd lines as this, you gotta watch Paco doing Puttin’ on the Ritz.
I was in Germany when this came out.
😂😂 Falco nice one. "Vienna Calling" should be next XD
Falco was the first white Rapper worldwide. In the United States, where the original version of “Der Kommissar” barely dented the Hot 100. 1982 the song was played particularly often in New York clubs by hip-hop DJ Afrika Bambaataa. Falco would accomplish the same historic feat four years later, when “Rock Me Amadeus,” a German-language tribute to that other famous Austrian, shot all the way to #1 on the Billboard pop charts in the spring of 1986. And what exactly was Falco’s history-making achievement? Well, not only did “Rock Me Amadeus” make him the first Austrian to top the U.S. pop charts, but it also earned Falco the unlikely distinction of scoring the first American #1 pop hit by a male rap artist. Yes, that’s right-it wasn’t Doug E. Fresh or Kool Moe Dee or Kurtis Blow or Run-D.M.C. but an Austrian in a powdered wig who first brought hip hop-of a sort-to the top of the pops. And also his is song "Rock Me Amadeus" was the only German-language song to top the US Billboard charts until today.

Der Kommissar was an ok song but I hated this. LOL
I always have this Maxi single in my discotheque, bought there are 38 years ago.
AFAIK the first Rap record to reach #1 in the US and UK. Austrian Hip hop from the early 80s.
How did you find out that I still hear that?
Play his best song DER KOMMISSAR 1982.
❤
Do you plan on watching the movie Amadeus from 1984? It is phenomenal….. long but oh so good. It stars Tom Hulce and he’s so very good. His laugh in this will kill you. So worth a watch.
Discomemories 😊🇸🇪
❤(😍😍)❣️
zynjams here, good one Brian
Oh no! Lol
🎉😊
Mozart was different because his music appealed to both the upper class / royalty and to the common people at the same time.
This the Canadian version of
Hey beautiful Wolf hunterz how about a reaction about falcos best song: out of the dark? You should hear this great track
Falko mit "Amadeus" , Nr:. 1 / USA
Sore neck? Headbanging? You need Savage Seas (Retribution) by GRIP Inc. it's Dave Lombardo (Slayer's 1st drummer) and the band he made after leaving Slayer. Hostage to Heaven is another great by them. Whole 1st album is bangers, but you have to mash for yourself. The Wolf HunterZ
Unmatched and ahead of its time. In the words of Captain Kirk and First officer Spock: Space, the final frontier These are the voyages of the Starship Falco Its five year mission To explore strange new worlds To seek out new life And new civilizations To boldly go where no singer has gone before.
I liked the original, when it was new. But I never get these ”Extended dance mixes”. Nothing gained. 🎉

You bought an extra record "kaching". I got about 250 45's from the 80's and not one 12 inch among them. Waste of money.
I don`t like this version, but like the original, Falco had great music!
the ORIGINAL PLEASE
The 80s was full of great music, this ain't it.
As soon as reactors talk OVER the music, I'm gone.
Crikey, I hated this song. But I gave you a like anyway.
I think Brian steered you wrong. you should have just listened to the single release. This mix kind a sucks
Music video is so much better than this mix
That's not even the real version. It's just a remix. Stop acting like dorks.
