Faktabaari Forum is the prime forum to support Faktabaari’s mission to serve fact-based public debate and digital information literacy development. This special year we celebrate Faktabaari’s 10 years anniversary and inform our friends on EDMO NORDIS second phase. We need the independent networks to defend democracy and information integrity during the historical 2024 election year.
Our event focus remains on AI and social media - we STOP, THINK and CHECK what has worked and could work in practice for informed citizens in democracies especially in Finland, Nordics and Europe, with comparison to US developments with somewhat different regulatory environment.
We kick-start with a keynote from our US quest from the Center for an Informed Public Co-Founder Jevin West, and then hear greetings from our NORDIS colleagues and EDMO partners in view of 2024 European and US elections integrity and beyond. For the anniversary we also share some highlights from the 10 elections Faktabaari has covered as a laboratory for Digital Information Literacy and modern fact-checking in Finland and beyond. Faktabaari has organized Fora on International Fact-Checking Day since 2015.
