Hi! it's me, this video is a couple months old but since then I've actually tried out the real Katos and they are actually different from these fake ones. from what I can tell, they are slightly wider. Despite this they still do rub a little on my face but not as much as these fake ones.

My biggest concern with fake sunglasses is that they may not offer UV protection. This can really damage your eyes (you also wouldn't look directly at the sun without protection)
@Mirkkko

They are all made out of Polycarbonate. It is the cheapest material out there and offers UV protection. Sounds weird, but finding sunglasses without UV protection is really difficult.

May come as a surprise but even plain glass blocks UV. It's a well known problem in optical science when you actually want to detect UV that you have to get UV transparent glass. I would be more concerned about impact resistance.

The face rub is common issue between caucasian and Asian facial structure. Oakley snow goggles offer Asian fit (less curved and flatter). Seems like they should for the Kato as well. (I know these are knock-offs, but assuming they copied Kato pretty directly).

I've got the sutros and I love them, at really high speed a lot of wind does come under the glasses around the nose (>65-70kmh), which is a bit concerning when flying downhill. I do wonder if these glasses fix the problem. Can you please share a link to the glasses on Ali?

yes, yours came out more yellow. I am looking at my 24k prizm flak 2, at the end sharp tip of the lens, small part is more of yellow while the rest are strong gold. And if i look from inside, those yellow part are more of purple tint while the gold are more of brown tint. Regardless, i still think this is one good fake. How is it so far? I heard even the ori gas problem of detaching lens from frame. Do you have that problem with this?

Optical clarity? Distortion? Impact resistance? I have one question for ya; how much would you pay to get an eye back if you'd lose one? Probably more than the price of the real thing. I'm a mountain biker and a pair of Oakley saved my left eye. Best 200$ spent ever.
@dainiusvysniauskas2049

I'd say it offers same amount of impact protection as the real thing. Polycarbonate is relatively simple, cheap and hella durable material. Lens of the fake glasses seem to be at least 2mm thick, so it will definitely protect eyes from bugs or dust.

@@JeanFrancoisDesrosiers In the name Polycarbonate, you have your answer right there: Poly - carbonate. Many particles of carbon, which are the weak link in most lenses. Oakley heats up the polycarbonate by pressure, which separates the elements, and gets rid of impurities which are the issue for impact resistance. Some metal frames and accessories are now made in China or Italy for Oakley, but lenses are still made in California, so definitely not made at the same location. On top of that, the actual beads used to create the base color for the lenses is different, Oakley has it's own proprietary beads blend, and the iridium, or mirror, coating on the lense is not just for style, it actually balances the contrast to what is needed. the way it is applied to the lense does not add a layer which reduce optical clarity. But I understand if someone doesn't feel like spending that amount on sunglasses really. To each his own, and the odds of someone shattering his glasses are quite low. But, I'm biased. Oakley glasses saved my life in a freak MTB accident, so I'm sold for life XD
