Wow! That sounds fun!
Finally! A true step by step on a realistic waffle cone and how to make the ice cream. I am so going to make some of these for my Christmas Candyland and Sweet Treats tree. Thank you sooo much!!! You make these look easy - hoping I can achieve as good looking of a cone as you did. Love how you did the impression of the squares, so waffly-good!

This is beautiful! Does the cone and scoop dry hard enough to be a pretend ice cream cone for imaginary play for littles? Swap colors etc.
@CassieSmallwood

It dries hard. I think it would work for imaginary play for kids, but I'm no expert on kids 😁
It's so cute! Does spackle need to be sealed?
@CassieSmallwood

No it doesn't. Thank you 😊
Love this and Im only at the waffle cone, lol! I watched the waffle tutorial as well, but havent tried it yet bc Im not gonna lie, resin intimidates me O_o Lol! I bought some, but just ehhhhh, keep putting it off bc Im afraid and Im sure once I use it, Ill be thinking OMG why did I wait so long?! Lol! Thanks for this though!

Resin is fun but it can be finicky. I've used it to make really cool countertops in my house as well as fake baking with it.
Hi, I’m just curious, how long do you let the spackle dry? And do you find the bottom gets dry even though you’re sending it inside the cone while it’s still wet and soft? Love the look of this technique, using it to make props for a play!
@CassieSmallwood

It will take a few days at least but also depends on temperature and humidity. The bottom dried fine. It would take much longer for the bottom to dry if it was pushed all the way down into the cone but because I put the tissue paper in first, it dries more quickly.
Your videos are genius. I have a question about air-dry foam clay. After air-dry foam clay dries, is it supposed to feel spongy...like rubber? Curious only. Thank you in advance. I appreciate you for sharing your crafts with us.
@CassieSmallwood
11 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yes, it stays spongy feeling. Usually after quite some time the spongy feeling will go away and it will harden completely but it will still be very lightweight.

@@CassieSmallwood Thank you Cassie for your quick reply. I truly appreciate you sharing.
Can you use model magic clay also?
@CassieSmallwood
Жыл бұрын
For the cone? Yes. I'm not a fan of Model Magic but it's similar to the foam clay I used.
Did you redo the one you did on camera or was the end shot another one you made? I ask because the ice cream looks completely different. Your projects are always amazing!.
@CassieSmallwood
Жыл бұрын
No, it's the same one. I added a few more chocolate chunks to the outside which I didn't get on camera. What about it looks different?

@CassieSmallwood

@@debbymccormack6525 that's weird. Maybe the lighting or camera angle. The end result was filmed a different day after it dried.

OMG!!!!! My friend who does dry wall KEEPS telling me to come and grab a big bag of that same dry wall joint compound bc he said its MUCH better than spackle...but I dont think JUST that with water would give me the same spackle consistency and I have not seen anyone use it yet til you just brought it out! Have you TRIED using the dry wall compound/joint compound WITHOUT the spackle and with JUST water?? Im dying to know what it does! I just didnt want to grab a huge bag just find its not usable for fake food! Maybe Ill just take a gallon sz bag from him, lol!

Also, have you ever tried Plaster of paris in spackle?? I use Plaster of paris with my acrylic paint to make a chalk paint
@CassieSmallwood

Joint compound with water is very different from lightweight spackling. I don't think you can interchange the two. I use the joint compound as powdered sugar too.
