Bernadette, wow, I remember seeing her in a certain deli in NYC back in the 60"s She knew the guy I was with Ronnie Miestrich) She doesn't look much different then way back then, how does she do it? And her talent keeps reinventing itself. What a heartfelt performence. She is so beautiful forever!!

So pretty. Linda sang this so beautifully as a young woman. Bernadette sings it from the point of view as a woman in her 40's or 50's. Both beautiful interpretations.

When I think I never want to sing again I listen to this song. Though sad it brings out something positive in me. Yes, we have been hurt in life but most of us will go on; not just surviving but THRIVING. Her voice helps me bring out the best in my own. A singer has to go down to a deep place sometimes to truely be expressive. Thank you Bernadette for sharing your talent and willingness to be venerable while expressing it.

Ok her voice and looks are exquisite, she has a great song that is perfect on its face, so to speak, but she decides to bring out the emotional content under the surface. A lot of artists would then distort the basic musical integrity of the song in pursuit of emotional gravity, twisting it out of shape at the expense of the musicality. That she executes her performance to include both is the artistry at work here. She has revealed depths of feeling while, if anything enhancing the musical virtues of the song. This is supreme discipline and control of every faculty.

Bernadette is so mesmerizing, she doesn't need to be inspired by anyone. She is perfect all on her own. The first time I heard this song was by Linda and I thought no one could top her, I was wrong. Being first doesn't always mean best. Bernadette's voice is hauntingly and soulfully beautiful.

I've heard many artists cover this song and almost all of them are moving performances but this one is amazing in a special way. Emotion simply pours out of her as she sings and shows the song to it's true potential. Bernadette exercises one of the most finely senses of timing by any artist. She never rushes a single note, never fails in her phrasing she simply sings this song in the best possible way. She brings the listener to an emotional epiphany that few artists could achieve.

Faithless love like a river flows Raindrops falling on a broken rose Down in some valley where nobody goes And the night blows in like the cold dark wind Faithless love like a river flows Faithless love where did I go wrong Was it telling stories in a heartbreak song Where nobody's right and nobody was wrong Faithless love will find you And the misery entwine you Faithless love where did I go wrong Well I guess I'm standing in the hall of broken dreams That's the way it sometimes goes Whenever a new love never turns out like it seems I guess the feeling comes and goes Faithless love like a river flows Like raindrops falling on a broken rose Down in some valley where nobody goes Faithless love has found me Thrown its chilly arms around me Faithless love like a river flows JD Souther

It's pretty pointless to try to pick Bernadette's best. There are so many. But I remember seeing her do this one in concert and it was absolutely amazing. So haunting and ethereal and just so beautiful it sounded like something from another world.I would swear no one in the audience breathed for the whole six minutes. By all rights, we should all be dead now.

I've listened to the Glen Campbell version of this song for too many years to count, and enjoyed it very much. Also, I'm a pretty decent singer myself that lost the feeling in my left hand years ago, so I can't sing it while I play the guitar anymore. Circumstances being what they are, I started singing it with a karaoke backing. It's honestly a tough one to do well, which is why Bernadette's performance of it is so amazing. This is my first viewing her doing it, and it certainly won'y bey last. WOW...! She really understood the song, and provided an amazing arrangement to match. Wow! What a truly gifted lady and equally outstanding performance! And, I'm feeling pretty lucky for finding it, because now I'll be able to enjoy it forever.

first: great illustration of why women's voices are better then men's. shes singing all around her break mixing in any amount of head tones she wants, all for maximum emotional effect, and making it sound exquisite. even a master like Mel Torme cant achieve the same effect cause mens voices dont have that beautiful ring second: example of why theater artists are the best. this song is nice when sung by great singers like Linda Ronstadt and Glen Campbell, but she makes it a Masterpiece
