I never really listened to this song much, but it really hits home this yr. like another person said,it will hit everyone differently this yr. I notice a definite chill as I drove thru town the other day..There was no decoration in no windows,of any businesses, no lights anywhere..I really get it..Such a sad time as many business are just hanging by a thread or gone..We have never experienced anything of this nature...I pray that 2021 ,hopefully will be a better yr.

Christmas is going to be so sad this year cause all the loved ones that passed away of covid and it is just going to match this song cause where is the laughter and the world is changing it matches this song

I feel your pain. As I'm getting older the Christmas spirit...it just isn't there anymore no matter how much I try and hold onto it. At the beginning of December everything was fine, I was playing Christmas music, watching Christmas specials, and begging my parents to start decorating and to get the Christmas tree but... The time's have changed. I don't believe in my Elf on The Shelf anymore. My belief in Santa Claus, The Tooth Fairy, The Sandman, The Easter Bunny, Jack Frost... It's getting smaller by the day. I want to grow up and be mature but... I want to hold onto my childhood dreams as well. The thrill of waking up Christmas morning to presents. Searching through all the goodies in my Easter Basket. Putting my tooth under my pillow and waking up to money. Going to sleep and dreaming about my idols. And waking up for school to hear it's been canceled due to snow. I want to hold on but... I just don't think I can anymore. Everyone in my grade except my friends tell me "Oh Santa's not real. My parents told me." or " I woke up to my parents taking my tooth and then they sat down and told me the truth. How they aren't real." But... Maybe Santa and Jack Frost can change that with a white Christmas and Presents. I've already lost by belief in The Tooth Fairy. She hasn't come to collect the last few teeth I've lost... I just hope you can hold on. I know I'm desperately trying to but... as the song says... Time's are changing.

Christmas isn't what it used to be. I used to not be able to sleep on Christmas night, excited for Santa to come. I used to wake up throughout the night, pacing my room until I was allowed to rush downstairs as fast I could to see what Santa has brought. Now, its so different... I miss you Christmas

In my humble opinion, for whatever it is worth, this song always brings a tear to my face. The Christmases past that I knew are no longer there. As time goes by, I have lost loved ones due to illness, age, or accidental moments in life. When I was a kid, I used to enjoy these days leading up to the Holidays at the end of year. Incredibly enough, times change, people change, even our loved ones that used to make part of our memories are all gone. Life goes on. And to think, that one day, maybe just maybe, our children, maybe even grandchildren, will go through the same thoughts we are going through right now. Imagine that. I would like to say a saying that I heard through a documentary about a rock band and one of its members said that stuck in my head forever to sum it up. "The only thing that I am learning right now is that life flies by very fast. Before your know it, it's all over. And to think that not too long ago it just begun." Great quote. A lesson in life in itself.

Hah, the billions of this Earth's inhabitants who don't celebrate Christmas might not care about Christmas' vanishing act. Although the holiday, at least in the States, has become much secularized as of late.

Christmas isn't about presents it's about love kindness and laughter being with your family members some friends celebrating together celebrating what Christmas is if you do that then that is the perfect Christmas.

I miss the way Christmas was when I was a kid. My whole family was together, me, my mom, my grandma, and all 5 of my older siblings. My youngest older sister and brother and I used to argue over who got to open their presents first, and mom often let me since I'm the baby 😜 But now my siblings are all grown up, and my oldest one has a kid of her own, two live in another state, and the other two don't really talk to us anymore. So for the past few years it's just been me, my grandma and mom and it feels so empty 😢

You know as a kid there was nothing that could compare to the magic of Christmas. Then as an adult you think that same experience isn’t the same any more but Christmas isn’t just about that big fat man and what he leaves under your tree. It’s about being with the ones that make you smile all year round, your family, your friends. If you’ve that every 25th of December then the magic of Christmas never dies ❤️❤️❤️

I can relate to this song so much.. As I have gotten older Christmas is not the same anymore.. My parents are in a tight money situation I can only get 3 presents and we are only getting presents for my mother, father, me, my sister, and brother... No other family. It's September and my mom already got our three presents. I wish Christmas was like when I was 5 and lived with my parents siblings grandparents and MANY cats. our grandma cooked like it was thanksgiving 🙏🙇🎉. We'd have a HUGE Christmas tree. Our stockings would be stuffed. We'd all have at least 15 presents. We had so much money. But now it's all gone. Christmas is just about as dead as St.Nickolas is 🙏🙌👏🙏🙇

Fun fact: the song was co-written by Mariah Carey in 2000 . And also Mariah first recorded it. But cuz of legal cases with her ex husband tommy mottola they had to pass it. So they send it to faith Hill and she re-recorded. I knew when I listened to this song it was by Mariah carey. The lyrics looks very similar to her song miss you most at Christmas time

A month after

Christmas has always been my favorite time of year. My entire family gathered at my house for dinner, presents, stories and laughter. I would sit on the couch by the tree for hours just listening to my grandfather tell stories about his life, anywhere from his time in the Navy to the many roadtrips he took through out his 88 years. However, this year I don't know how I'll enjoy Christmas with his passing. He was the one that kept the family together. Even though each of my cousins had families of their own, they packed them up and made the trip out to see us. They have already stated they will all be spending Christmas individually.

I dealt with the same thing when I was in eight grade buddy, sorry. I know it's rough. I'm the youngest cousin out of 13. I'm a junior in high school now. Christmas is about loving the people you do have and remembering the times you had with them and the people who are no longer there. Stay strong though, peace

I lost my Mom in 2019. Christmas hasn't felt the same at all. I've actually had a very hard time putting any effort in this year. But I and my family really tried even though we didn't feel it. At the very least, because we know that's what she wants for us. This song makes me feel better that we did.

as a child I hated Christmas after about 4 we didn't have presents,just a tree.so I always had a great Christmas for my kids.this year will be my first without my middle son who took his own life 7 months ago I dread it so much ,he was 34 and single so he stayed ever Christmas Eve night and his stocking is here still .now Christmas has eluded me again this year.but this somg is beautiful because it is a feeling inside

Getting older and seeing family pass and part ways makes Christmas feel a lifetime away. This is one of the few songs that can still warm my heart.

This song perfectly encapsulates the feeling of helplessness, due to the loss of happiness. Whether we realize this physically, or mentality due to our memories reminding us how much things have changed. We must believe and understand, better memories can be made with the right people, who care for us!

This song is literally my life. It reflects everything. And now I listened to the whole song. It saved me. I think I might find Christmas. Again. December 25th 2019. 2:32 am. Merry Christmas.

As you get older your views of christmas change. Dont get me wrong i miss being a kid and waking up to see what santa brought me. But now as a mother of two beautiful wonderful terrors, seeing the look of awe on their faces means the world to me. Also since my mother battled her cancers and is now in remission it really makes you take a step back and realize that you are super lucky to have loved ones still around to share the joy, warmth, and love with. Honestly im glad Christmas has changed for me, because my christmas mornings mean SO much more to me now. Merry Christmas everyone.

I watched "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas" movie when I was young and now I watched it with my 3yr old daughter.

I could listen to this all day over and over again. That's how much I love this song!!!!! This song reminds me of my grandma. This is the first ever Christmas that I won't have my grandma. She passed away about 2 months ago. She's in my ❤️. I just won't know how well I will do without my grandma here with me this year. I love you so much grandma. I love you for everything you did for me. You mean a lot to me.

After all that has happened to me this year, I can't wait till Christmas. It's the time of year where all my stress goes away and I feel joy and happiness.

I love the Christmas season and I absolutely love this song. The reason why this song is so great is because of the meaning behind it, and yes I listen to Christmas songs in October and I am not ashamed. It saddens me that so many people now days are becoming anti Christmas and hate Christmas when it comes around. They always claim oh Christmas is to worldly and everyone only cares about gifts and materialistic things. The reason I love this song is because it explains that Christmas is what you make of it, it is a time where people come together and have love and kindness for one another. Have you ever noticed how people are a lot nicer to people at Christmas time? it is for those reasons that I love this holiday so much. I always tell people that the gifts are not about receiving but about giving and if you remember that then their is no reason to think Christmas is just materialistic. I have young kids and of course when they think of Christmas they think of toys and presents because that is the way kids are they don't understand the true meaning of this holiday and so my husband and I try to instill in them each year to try and teach them that yeah you get gifts and people give gifts to others and it is because this holiday is all about giving and showing that selflessness and compassion towards others. I am saddened that people have lost the spirit of Christmas in this world we live in now.

I miss the feeling of Christmas, the comfort, the joy, the love.... my grandma misses it because she feels it's nothing more than marketing and consumerism. And to my displeasure she was right. And every year Christmas becomes less and less from what I remember. I just want people to not give up on life and the holidays all because of how life has changed today. I love Christmas music, but I will still believe in Santa Claus. I love opening presents and putting up the decorations every year. I was asked to sing this song at a funeral vigil service for a young man who loved the Christmas Season.. he went to heaven to be with his loving mother who was his best friend.. I have been listening and tears have fallen down my cheeks as I sing along.. What a lovely song.. so heartfelt.. the meaning is so touching… I pray I can do this song justice… 🙏

I always felt bad for the Grinch. His movie is one of the best Christmas movies and taught us that nobody should be alone on Christmas.

I heard this song playing last year, three days after my mom passed away. And now I will forever associate this song with her. The song is beautiful and has a message of Hope. I read the comment made by a gentleman who had lost his wife and is hopeful to find Christmas again. I feel the same way! Peace, love, and hope to all of us who have had a loss of magnitude🙏

This song breaks my heart. I cry almost every time I listen to it, but I keep coming back. It's because even though I just turned 16, things aren't the same anymore. I'm a much bigger fan of Mariah than Faith but she should be at least thankful for writing this beautiful song.

I rewatch this movie last night and NEVER in my life did I ever think I'd relate to this song as much as I did so this year. I genuinely miss how Christmas used to be and I hope one day it can be that magical thing again with adults and kids alike

I read so many sad comments below that my heart feels heavy for all of those who have suffered any kind of personal loss. Each of us has experienced the highs and lows of life, but we all know we need to press on and not let the low to dictate who we are. Find a way inside of you to rise above your grief and know that even if you don’t believe it you are loved by our Lord.

I just got tested positive for covid 19. Two days before Christmas. I won't be having a Christmas with my family or anyone I love. When this song came on I instantly balled my eyes out. I'm so sad and feel for everyone that has tested positive throughout the entire pandemic.

I think all adults resonate with this song life’s so hard so many bills and responsibilities I’m not the little happy girl I used to be. 💔💔💔 Christmas has never been the same.
