That doesn't make much sense tbh. Now looking back at this, Acnologia is very inconsistent in power. The anime story we got from Acnologia he was savagely killing dragons in his human form with utter ease. But he's having trouble with Igneel who's less than 50% of prime power. Igneel can be very strong but Acno existed when Igneel was in his prime and he was still kill Dragon King. Igneel and them ran from Acno along with Ignia and the rest of Dragon gods. Doesn't make sense why he somewhat struggle you could say he was playing with Igneel here but idk.

@@Theonefrombeyon To be honest, if he really stronger than Igneel... He not need to rip Igneel soul and make him go into hiding in Natsu body. Beside I think, Igneel is miscalculated about his own plan and cause his demise. Because when he inside Natsu body and gather enough Ethernano to defeat Acnologia, Acnologia have 400 years to improve himself. At least, because Igneel rip his arm... He cant block Natsu attack in the final battle when he is immobilized by Fairy Sphere.

Which trapped him(SOMEHOW) but it's obv that eos Pre RoT Acnologia is much stronger than the Acno that fought igneel. Which is true bc Erza said he got much stronger when she saw him. Maybe igneel was near Dragon Gods lvl.

@@Theonefrombeyon Actually Acnologia can still move a bit and try to block Natsu punch. But he forget, his left arm is already ripped by Igneel. So when he realized that, he just kind of resign to his fate. Beside, if Acno not act arrogant and split his body into two, I dont think all the Dragon Slayer can beat or kill him. So his defeat and death is caused by his own fault.

i liked acnologia not talking to fairy tail members, added a whole element of power and fear to the character

Makes you wonder how strong Igneel was at his prime when half dead and a little bit of his original strength he managed to damage Acnologia to such extend, not to mention he was more or less dominating the fight.

​​@@sehun2193 it's said that Dragons went into war against each other that was explained by the Jade Dragon below the Arena in the Tartaros arc. Which means, most dragons are already dead including the stronger ones. The Dragons Acnologia killed are those who went in hiding either because they're weak, or severely injured.

Man, Fairy Tail would have been such a legendary anime if it really had better fight scenes instead of powerpoint presentations and if the ending wasn't rushed. That last arc would have been so good had they just given it time for build up, power scaling and fight animations. Hopefully the 100yr quest will be given justice this time.

I remember when i read this first in the manga... as many critics it might have, i still enjoy fairy tail quite a lot. I understand those critics and i think they are right, fairy tail suffers from many many cliches, relays too much in the power of friendship and many other aspects.... But i think what attracts people its the concept, and that in the end is a shonen, you want to see cool powers, flashy fights... If i want to see a deeper and better story, there are plenty of other shows ive watched and that i could watch, but there is a time for everything, and sometimes you just want to relax and watch a show whithout giving such an importance to the plot. Its like having a burger, obviously a homemade beef burger is much superior to mcdonalds, nutritionaly and in quality, but cant deny that sometimes, you just want mcdonalds, eventhough its not as good as the other, but theres... something, that makes it enjoyable. Having said that, to clarify that fairy tail has a shitty plot, plain characters and an endless list of flaws... Its one manga i really have a soft spot in my heart for, as i said, conceptwise its one of my favourites (the elementary dragons, the dragonslayers, erza, the demons, acnologia itself, techniques as Grand chariot(that just have a badass name).... they all are just cool). Acnologia (as bad as a character as it is), its probbably in my top 3 anime villains (design wise, its just badass), and eileen probbably in the top 10.... I remember when his human form was first revealed in the manga i shit my pants off, such a good moment. The appearance of igneel was such a long awaited moment, and when it finally happened it was like fuck yeah, acnologia vs igneel and so... You might have liked or not the end result of the confrontation, but at least we did get the moment. And after this long ass text, whats my point? oh my god i remember when i saw this airing thought it was bad , but after rewatching this, some years later, holy shit its even worse than i remembered. This moment could have been awesome animated (as i said, forget plot, story... just focus on the two main dragons on the series beating the shit out of each other), in the manga it was just such an strong moment *(Gotta give props to Hiro Mashima, He might write really bad, but he has a such a good drawing and capability to draw such cool concepts and designs, even now edens zero is a delight to read, the drawing is really good and the fights are really cool too, eventhough the story is a bit better, it still carries many flaws that just come with Hiro, he just doesnt write that well (all this apart from the overly sexualized drawings, that he just puts in like.... they werent necessary. guess if he still does it its because he enjoys it, wouldnt do it myself) * and in the anime its just PNGs flying over a overshadowed backgroung... My god you have to try and be cheap to do something so bad.... And this goes for most of the series after the tournament arc after tenroujima (natsu and gajeel vs sting and rogue was probbably one of, if not the best fight in the series up to that point, sadly the last one "decently" animated, not spectacular, but really enjoyable). I hope one day fairy tail gets a remake with proper animation, but with the bad name the series has made, i doubt it, and its a pity, because i think that fairy tail is one of those series, that well directed and animated, has a fucking lot of visual potential. It has been made with other series, just look at kimetsu no yaiba (ive read the manga, admit the story is nothing out of this world, in fact, its quite similar to faily tail, has many of the same flaws), a normal series can be elevated with good animation that brings out its potential, to what i think its a must watch for any anime fan by today. Kimetsu right now is a mandatory watch, even if you are not the biggest fan of the shonen genre. Its a similar case, weak story, cool concepts(the pilars and the demons, with the upper and lower moon rankings...) Fairy tail is a series that visually, has the potential to be freaking amazing. So its better to keep dreaming. I wrote all of this because i just read the lates manga chapter of the 100 years quest and man, it is enjoyable, not the best manga ive read, but something to look forward to every two or three weeks. Ignia vs Selene has been a fight that gave me a nostalgic vibe, and just made me want to revisit igneel vs acno, but sadly this has made me remember why i even dropped the anime before the alvarez arc (and for the fragments i watched on youtube, it didnt improve, just got worse....im speaking about animation, i read it in the manga when it was still being published). What a waste, the Alvarez arc reminds me of the thousand year blood war arc from bleach (TYBW is better, but you get the point), bad arc, but with some of the coolest and hypest moments of the series, that animated, could even be highlights. Thats why im so looking forward to finally having the adaptation of the TYBW of bleach, after so many years, i just pray they dont mess up and give us the fans the anime weve been asking for so much time. For the anime adaptation of the 100 years quest of FT, im not so optimistic, i prefer to keep my expectations low so i dont get dissapointed, sad, but real. Holy shit what i bible i wrote, but i dont know, i just wanted to express my opinion, even if no one is going to read it, just needed to leave it out there and spit it out. For anyone that has got to the end, thanks a lot

I agree, and its the reason why I'm glad I watched fairy tail in 2009 and not today. At the moment I'm more really only into stories with good plot and depth. Fairy tail was my first anime and I enjoyed it a really good time, and it's just funny to me because even tho I'm right now more into animes like Attack on titan, one piece or FMA with great plot. I definitely enjoyed watching fairytail more than those, I don't think theres any anime except for DBS that I enjoyed more than fairy tail. I swear One piece and Attack on titan really changed my taste in terms of plot and storytelling. But that said I still think fairytail is a good anime for beginners or casuals, since it pretty much has everything except for the plot.

@Roman99 Neo You're right but Acno was still physically stronger and had more magic power than Igneel also. It's just this fight is weird overall. I feel this version of Acno isn't the same version as the eos pre ravines of time acno(Author changed his character/power). This Acno didn't absorb any of igneels attack or use any attacks that he used at the Eos.

Acnologia isn’t IMMUNE TO MAGIC A lot of people complain about stuff that happens in Fairytail that isn’t actually happening, like complaining that there is just random BS out of nowhere when the “random BS” they talk about is explained in the series Acnologia is an arcane dragon, meaning he has no ONE element of magic, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be hurt by dragon slayer magic He’s a dragon, and can be hurt and even killed by dragon slayer magic, but since he’s the arcane dragon, he’s immune to every magical element As humans, Dragon Slayers are immune to the element of magic that they control, like Natsu is immune to fire, Sting is immune to white magic, Wendy is immune to sky magic, and they can consume the magical element that they control for extra power, but as a dragon, they’re immune to ALL forms of magic except for Dragon Slayer magic A fire dragon can still be hurt by fire dragon slayer magic, a sky dragon can still be hurt by sky dragon slayer magic, an iron dragon can still be hurt by iron dragon slayer magic and an arcane dragon can still be hurt by arcane dragon slayer magic A common misconception that shouldn’t even exist

@@logeyperogi1805 That is true, there is a reason why Natsu attacks and the others couldn’t affect acnologia due to superior endurance so they needed a high amount of dragon slayer magic in order to finish acnologia. Also Natsu can absorb dragon slayer magic or rather obtain like he did with laxus, but he cannot get like god slayer magic with the exception of fire god slayer magic. In 100 years quest, natsu dragon seed has further proved what you said, with the ignia flame plus his dragon slayer magic, he could injured if not defeat aldoron and mercphobia, what people misunderstand from “slayers” in fairytail is how compatible they are to their prey example: dragons slayers are stronger against dragons then against demons proven in the tartaros arc.

Even though it was pyrric hit and he ultimately died in process no one has ever or will damage Acnologia to permanently cripple him by tearing off his arm for good. I never though Igneel decision to cut off Acnologia arm becomes a problem in the future.

@Roman99 Neo That's not true he can absorb all type of magic thats physical. Universe one was used on the ground and not particularly physical if that makes sense. Plus there's time where he don't just absorb shit overall, he dodged jellal attacks then absorbed the last one. He didn't absorb any of the ds attacks either but was unaffected by them. He got attacked by Irene attacks knew she was a enchantress and still decided not to absorb it. Most cases he rather tank the attack than absorb. Irene would die to Acno that was made clear when he was casually tanking her attacks.

@Roman99 Neo He nullified her first attack and was immune from them. U1 was enchantment of the ground, Acno even asked her that. She moved the ground lol so her spell didn't specifically target him. Even if she went all out she would've died to Acno. In the current manga that dropped today Selena mentions Acnologia being the lvl of the DGs she doesn't mention Irene, that's bc she's not on their lvl.

Acnologia and End were the two biggest disappointments of FT, both hyped to be crazy strong, one got defeated in a stupid way and the other one didnt even show up

igneel was able to break acnologias hand because of that suicidal attack there is a huge difference in power between them ...see 1 dragon king roar destroyed him and 1 point blank shot fire dragon king roar did nothing to acnologia only physical damage can do something ....yet acnologia clearly says that " thats the power of a fire dragon king " so yeah acno is a different breed

If igneel and other good dragons dint do what they did then by now even they wud have gotten stronger like the dragon gods..

as much as i love igneel i doubt in his prime he would have beaten acnologia. Given the fact that acnologia was able to rip his soul from his body and from the other dragons in the past. In my point of view, if igneel was still in his prime then he would have definately dealt more damage to acnologia. Even if the other dragons fought alongside igneel i doubt it would do anything since in the dub, metalicana stated, "even the mighty igneel wasn't able to defeat acnologia". This means that igneel was the strongest out of the five dragons.

It would be best if igneel won this find then died afterwards, coz the way the defeated acnologia is kinda corny for me😅😅😅

i am still salty about the other dragons not helping igneel, like bruvv, if you have time to shat then you have time to fight. get in there and dogpile the bastard. igneel didn't have to die, nor he should have. it was all because the other dragons were being lazy. you need to tell the dragonslayers what happened? fine, leave one behind, the rest of you go and fight. truly one of the most epic, and dumbest fights in the series. this is one of the few things that i heavily dislike about fairy tail's story to the point that i would retcon it if i could. yes, i am aware that igneel held back in order to keep the humans from getting hurt, my point is only reinforced when combined with that fact.

Still better than House of Dragons.

I lost interest, when the writer let Igneel fought alone, when there were many other dragons taking down the faces together; also with the idea when Acnologia was rising to fame, they could have all gang up on him already.

Not really he is equal to some. Not sure about Ignia who has far surpassed every one.
