I m 1st year student, good at studies but cant handle exams properly, I m just about to fail in my first internal exam, all 3 subjects, I think. I will increase my study hours like before and make proper notes and revise regularly to avoid this problem ever again. It is soo hard to accept failure especially when u know that u have more potential and skills than ur batchmates😓.

Sir I have a query I want to know that ki sir when I was in 10 th standard my aim was clear that I had to become a doctor but in 11 th and 12 th due to financial problems I has not prepared for neet but after 12 th I go for coaching for neet but in starting I had performed well in my coaching but as I tym passes my health issues start like trachycardia I was suffering from it a lot and there are many health issues due to which I can not able to perform well in last months before neet and that was my first attempt and I had scored 460 and jb stress hua to aisa lga ki ab dubara neet nhi dena mujhse itna stress nhi liya jayega and then I felt I am interested in teaching field I can be a good lecturer but due to some incident I again started for neet prep but in middle of prep I found that I can not kept myself mentally stable and suffered again from same trachycardia and this tym also in neet 2021 I scored only 550 now when I see my friends they are going for bams , bds , private mbbs then I think ki mujhe inme se koi field choose krna or I should do bsc for teaching although Iam not so much interested in surgeries and injections lgana and vo sb kam jo doctors krte h even now I am not happy to see hospitals but when I see my frnds who are going for mbbs, bds , bams that ki if am doing any mistake is field na Jane m apna interest ki trf ja rhi hu ya fr nahi asa lgata h ki khi m halat raste pr to nahi ja rhi what should I choose my interest teaching or bams , bds for safe carrer plz reply sir I am so confused and frustrated form 2 months plz tell 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Angel Angel , if you are not interested in something and you are doing only because your friends are doing that thing, you will be only a mediocre in that field. I would strongly advise you to take a breath. If you can find your passion or calling go for it. You can do wonders. Life should not be race and we should not treat is as such. If there is stress in entrance exam I assure you medical studies is more stressful. So instead of forcing yourself to like something you don’t like see what other fields you can opt .

It will take some time, after then buckle up. You will get through this. Everyone who pass through this phase will get through the exams.

@Areeba True, the most difficult portion of the study is active recall. If that is difficult, you can do it right after Sehri. Dont go to sleep after sehri but delay your sleep for some time. Because at that moment you will be full and you will have maximum energy. Also try to take a light walk and then do the study. When we do a light exercise our blood circulation to brain and other vital organ increases which help us to learn more and you will have more energy. Also when you are tired after some studying, give yourself some break so that you can come back fresh. When tired don't push hard but give time for the brain to relax and rejuvenate itself. 5-10 minutes break can do wonder.

Abrar Khan congratulation and best of luck. Stress is a normal thing but don't take so much pressure. Also try not to underestimate yourself. Try to cover things in a good way you can do. I am making a detail video on first year subjects and how to cover each subject. It will take some time probably after eid. Hope it will help you.

I heard that those who fail in mbbs, corporate hospitals never hire them and its impossible to get electives after usmle as Dean won't sign. Is that true? I'm really depressed after my 1st yr results. I want to die. My parents are disappointed with me.

I got failed in my third year but it never stopped me from getting a job. I also know few fellows who got failure during their mbbs but now successfully doing practice in US. Just need to pick yourself up.

No. I don’t think so. It’s another path you just need the degree of MBBS.

Sir, because of fear,i do not take part in prof exam,i do not go to medical college or do not give any item or term exam.i m a fourth year MBBS student from Bangladesh.All people surrounding me think that i am a failure guy that also influencing my fear of study.To be honest,now i fear of studies.I feel phobia when i see any books.sir what can i do now?

Rafi, Your situation is difficult. There is fundamental problem with phobias. Fear can be conquered, if you face it. It is not some mystical talk, even in psychology you have to experience your fear again and again so that you can desensitize it. You know Surgeons initially have fear of blood but once they got used to it, it no longer trouble them. With passage of time things become easy. But if a person has never seen blood he will probably faint. You can ask yourself that you will appear no matter what. Exams is a difficult situation but this is one thing we have to face again and again in life and especially in our medical careers. First Five year MBBS then multiple exam of post graduation and even then for each senior post they would interview us.

@@HannanTayyab sir,Honestly speaking,i was a bright student before.I got chance in multiple public universities such as Dhaka university,KUET u may know these institutions.Then i got chance in Govt. Medical college.Initially,i used to make great results in medical college,even passed first prof with brilliancy.But,then i fall in a relationship with my batchmate.The relationship cause deterioration not only in my mental condition but also started to have effect on my study.i was so focused on my relationship that i gave up studies.she used to pass every exam but i failed again and again.Because,i lost my interest on book.One month before my second prof,she rejected me,she left me.why? Because she used to believe that i would never be able to pass MBBS and she didn't want to continue relationship with a failure guy.After rejection,i found that i already lost everything.Now, i don't have good place or reputation in my medical college.Even everyone looks down me.I have no friend in medical college nor any batchmate wanna help me.They just think me dumb.Thats why i gave up and dropped out for two years.Recently,i got back into my medical college and i see my batchmate are studying in fourth year and they are far advance than i am.As our medical system obeys carry on system,by default,i m now in fourth year though i did not clear my second prof.Now, i m giving it.tomorrow is my supplementary exam of second prof.please supplicate for me,sir.i always dreamed to be a surgeon like you and i was on my track but a mishap changed everything.i just lagged behind and suffering from a lot phobias.Nobody here,doesn't listen to me.even our teachers too humiliates me.they say,i can't be a doctor.this is pathetic though.whats ur advice to me as i wanna be a successful surgeon like you?

Brother, when we are done with FCPS then we become specialist in that particular thing but to become surgeon what we have to do further?

Maheen there are different pathways of FCPS, if you choose fcps in medicine field you will become a physician but if you do fcps in surgery you will become surgeon. For example if you do fcps internal medicine you will become a physician but if you do FCPS general surgery you will become a General surgeon.

No Insharah there is minimal to no effect on house job or your cv. Other factors matter more. I had a supply I went to all the wards I wanted and get into my desired field.

One of my favourite teacher once told me to be actually someone you have to act like him. If you start acting in a negative way you will be in a negative state and vice versa. Also failure is not failure until you have learnt some valuable lesson. There is no replacement of hard work and consistency , that is a life long lesson that can shape you for life. Start small and keep building on it.

Walikumsalaam Shagufta . I understand your situation this happens to all of us. Sometime we are down and wanted to go up that is our true north . We should always follow that star. I was way down when I took my entry test but few months hard work changed all that. Two of my best friends they didn’t get admission on first attempt they got into better medical colleges the second time. As for concepts you have to sit down and understand things. One concept can lead to other concept this is something you have to understand. Understand and then try to recall and then make a schedule how to do repeat them .

Usually if you fail in the professional exam(final exam) there is one chance you can pass the second exam which is supplementary exam. But if you fail the supplementary exam you have to repeat the whole class again.

Look Shiva first don’t get depressed or anxious as it will decrease your own abilities and will only hinder your path to passing first year mbbs. I am average student but one thing I made sure that i would be a hard working average student. When I failed I make sure I give my 100 percent. I would advise you the same. Define which areas are week and get some past papers. See what are important topics. Cover them first and then move to less important topic. Use active recall when studying. You will get through it . One of my friends got failure in first year , now he is becoming orthopaedic surgeon. One of my relatives failed final year general surgery, now he is a general surgeon.

Shiva fact wala, in 1 month you can prepare. We have to face sometimes things that we have not though of previously. But facing them is the only way out. I would again say define your week areas and get onto it . In Which subject you had failed?

Shiva, try to do past papers as much as you can. Get them from seniors or local book shops. Read the most important topics get them marked from a senior. Keep your hopes high you will get through this.

Nowadays it is difficult with 70 percent marks. Try to improve your subjects in which you have low marks in fsc and do a repeat year.

Sonu Bawa, I dont know about India, But here in Pakistan, if you got failed four times in a single subject in initial two years, you get expelled from the medical school.

Sharmila, internals failure play a negative role. As if you failed internals this mean you were not prepared before. Also there are marks in front of examiners of your internal examiners during viva which lead to further lower chance of passing as they do note these things.

It is normal to feel this way. It will get better with time. But I don’t think it has a effect on your CV. When you have passed MBBS you are a doctor equivalent to another doctor who has done it without any supplementary exams.

When you have done mbbs you are equivalent to another mbbs doctor. So it doesn’t effect you so much. Maybe a minor factor but not a major factor in your cv.

Hanzala mdcat is different than fsc and it don’t depend upon fsc result. But I hope that you take good marks in fsc 2nd year and then good marks in entry test. Also see which subjects got you lower marks, see if you can repeat those subjects.

Roopa, failures are part of life . You have to fail in order to learn better. My failure turned me around and surely You can also turn this point around. Take a day off and start new and understand the subject. One of my relative once failed in surgery and now he is a surgeon so you never know.

Bilal in CIP I think each year it is getting higher and higher few years ago it was around 70.

I failed my supplementary exam of first year mbbs also …anatomy and biochemistry..I did my very best now I don’t know how to cope up and study also .

Alhadi i can assure you that which problem you are facing is a very huge one. But nothing is more than you living your life. ( although exams are important but believe the highest level of doctors i have seen either had been failure once in their life time. ) In this life usually sometimes we come to a point where we dont see any light. But i tell you slowly and slowly your eyes begin to compensate. Allah has given us some unique things. Our brain become advanced in moment of severe oppression and severe opposition. I can assure you when you will come out of this and you will, you will be stronger and more powerful than ever. What i can tell you in my experience there is always a bright side ahead of you just have to find the door. See a person who can help you and get an appointment to a psychiatrist first, he can help you immediately. For exam prepration start doing preparation and set a goal higher that you can look upto. Put something on the wall and see it daily. Just get to study and see how you can study better. Devise a plan of reading and active recall. Plus just try to see why this happens in first place, why you were debarred and promise yourself you can never put yourself in this condition again. You are stronger than you actually think about yourself but sometime a strong wall need an temporary support so that the defects can be repaired. Please Get an Appointment to a good psychiatrist in your city.

Abrar first know which are the important topics of the substage and then start doing them. For memorization use Atlas along with your book and try to recall the structures on your body. You can also make SHORT notes on a separate copy try to recall them 1 day before the substage and on the morning of substage.

Maheen, I focused on one thing, prepared that whole time for supplementary exam. Also I made priority, that in those 30-40 days if i can skip some of my classes and focus only on getting through that subject .

I can tell you from my experience. There are four attempts to clear the exam in first two years, if you can’t clear they will remove you from pursing medical studies. In third year you can have multiple attempts.
