Failed Rescue Turns into Rescue Win
Cape Cross - Namibia: The OCN team found a largish seal on the rocks with some bright red line around his chest and planned their approach. They knew from the start it would be a tough one, and one they started running the amount of other seals in the way made the rescue impossible. While scanning for their target Denzil saw a second large seal and they gave chase again in what turned out to be an action packed race. Denzil slipped, Naude grabbed the net from him and bound over rocks and sand to reach the large seal just before it got into the water. It was a good comeback to a sad situation. 🦭

Every time they run through these rocks I am worried for them getting injured. So glad they are so dedicated to saving the seals
Its good to see all of those babies and know they will have a safer and longer life because of you guys.
Rescues at Cape Cross always look riskier than rescues at Pelican Point because of its rocky terrain. And this was indeed a risky and technical rescue. Very glad it ended well and no one got hurt. Another great rescue, OCN!

Do the babies ever get trampled to death when they stampede towards the water like that?

💗💗 What a rescue...a man with a plan, a slip, a bite & a ton load of puppies...well done everyone....Thank You 💗💗
It's hard to appreciate how dangerous this work is. At any point you could stumble on or slip off a rock and hurt yourself really badly, or you could get bitten really badly by a seal. But it must be so rewarding when you give a new chance of life for an innocent creature.
Thank you Naude and Team OCN for saving him ❤️ greetings to all 🙋🏻😊

Hola Paqui 🙋🏻😊
Naude, No words describe satisfactorily how great your crew is & how much value you bring to marine life! Well done guys!
I hope Denzil is all right. Thank you for everything you all do.
Those cute little babies, straggling at the end, are running right into your arms. Those rocks must be hell on seal bellies
Luckily no bones were broken whilst racing over those slippery rocks! Great work guys saving another puppy!!
Love you Guys !! Keep that love to the rescue going .❤❤
So cute all the flippy flappy sounds from the little seals running!! Epic chase, he was a very powerful seal, just the way he took off into the rocky shallows was impressive!
It is a miracle that none of you have had a leg bitten in all these chases!

Yeah, I tend to get a bit nervous when I see video of barefeet and a river of seals with a river of teeth included.

One of them got bitten a few months back, he has a nice scar on his left forearm now 👌
I think Naude's remark "river of seals" this morning was very apt and poetic. Lots of little ones especially...

With all the moving, and non moving things to avoid, that is quite an obstacle course, and I enjoy running with you, vicariously.

Wow you are all just doing great things for the seals. Thanks for the great first video of my day😁👍🦭🥰💯
You played me out just watching . . . again. BRAVO!
Seriously impressive rescue- the rocks there add a whole extra level of danger.
That was just a sea of cuteness, with all those little baby fur seals running all over the place. I know they kinda got in your way, and made you lose your target, but they were also just adorable.
So glad you guys are doing this. I feel sorry for them.. But thankfully you guys catch them and get the cleared of that sea trash.... Another WIN for God's creation....
Love from India 🇮🇳
That was a pretty intense chase and catch. That net is proving to be worth its weight in gold.

Way to go! Your dedication to saving these seals is wonderful!
Guys! Be careful not to sprain your ankles or even break a leg on these slippery rocks. You heroism in all honor, but maybe wiser to let one go and stay safe to save many others ? All the best of luck for your future work, I am amazed by each and every video you guys are publishing!
Glad to see so many pups, even though they got in the way of the original rescue
Whenever a seal gets all the way into the net they look like the sorting hat from Harry Potter- anyone else see that?
Running across rocks and trying to avoid stepping on babies the whole way. Great job and rescue.
Man, I'm so scared of these rocks... Please consider wearing helmets when you go to Cape Cross, guys, be safe!
I cannot express enough how much I admire you guys. Thank you for your determination. You’re just brilliant 🙌❤️
"River of seals." Sounds like the most adorable kind of river.
That is a dangerous beach - be careful bro's!
You were all running through a sea of seals, even before you got to the water. You missed your original target, but that seal will be caught and cared for. You did get a second one, that needed your help and sent him away in good shape, although a bit grouchy. Great work guys👍👍
Ive just ordered a Premium Tank Top from your site to say thank you for caring.Give these guys/gals the support they need folks! Great rescue again guys, its all in a days work for you,but we all appreciate the care for these lovely animals. Love from the UK.
Cape Cross rescues are already difficult with the terrain, this was insane, more rocks than ever and half a million seals! Well guys, superb result even if it wasn't the one you were hoping for 😊 Thank you so much for what you do 💖
Sand plus smooth rocks equal very slippery footing! All those pups are so cute!
"A river of seals" - good description!
This rescue looked so dangerous running over the rocks. Great job!
It is so fascinating to see them swim away, they move so fast once they hit the water. KUDOS!!! again Gentleman, you have saved another sea and made their life much happier and free of entanglements. You run like the wind and save those seals!!!! Stay Safe OCN!!!! Love what you do!!!
Спасибо вам.
It always makes me giggle to see the last pups still running from the back to the water while our gorgeous safe guards are about to finish their work 😁
Guys you are amazing for what you do, I'm happy to know that there are still people who care about animals, thanks for making this job difficult but very rewarding incredible
trying to jump over all those pups without stepping on any! WOW! awesome rescue guys! ❤️
They are so amazing !!! How they shift into turbo boost the split second their flippers hit the water. It’s just amazing to watch them go from land to sea so seamlessly !
Love, love, love. 🇨🇦🐘🍁🤗💖
I'm glad his leg didn't get broken running across those rocks!
Good Lord, that thundering herd of seals!! Never ceases to amaze me!
Incredible rescue on ankle breaking terrain. Awesome work. Thank you
OMG...the little pup at 1:00 coming from behind the rock. How could anyone not want to pick it up and give it love like a little puppy dog. ☺️
Zipping up after the rescue is like me trying to get my 5 year old jeans on---ha ha!
Спасибо за заботу и помощь👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💕
That was a true homage to the Keystone Kops! You guys are more and more entertaining while doing your good work.....thanks for helping the seals!
It makes me so happy to see all of those precious babies!🥰🥰🥰 Great save on the second seal! You’ll get the other one next time! You guys worked very hard for this one! So grateful for you all!🦭❤️🙏😇
You guys are so dedicated. I caught my breath when Denzil slid on that rock. You have plenty if roadblocks and still persevere. I don't usually buy "merch" but I really appreciate what you are doing. I can't wait to get my order in the mail

I think you need a second, bigger net for the chubby ones! Naude, you could give Fred Astaire tap dancing lessons, the way you manage to hop and skip through not only the rocks, but hordes and hordes of baby pups. Amazing footwork! Love those little, black infants. You always make my day. Thank you!
I’m not into guys but if I were, Naude has some massive leg muscles to be able to do that!!! Holy cow! 😆😆😆

It's really great see you guys working, you rock!!! Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
Thanks guys that was a very hard rescue, hope Denzil is ok☺
Omw just epic!! Charging into the river of seals to get your target! I can imagine the seals telling stories about the lunatics that charge them waving a massive butterfly net!! Thank you for this incredible job you do! ❤
Now you are flying in the wind jumping off rocks! Thanks for saving the big fella❣
Дорогие спасатели из OCN, только не поломайте ноги на таких камнях! Сколько у вас там прелестных черненьких щеночков!
It's beautiful , yet scary with so many rocks. Super going & help. 👍❣️
Funny how now matter how far up the beach you go, there's always at least one wave that hits you! lol
Ouch! Poor Denzil!! 🙁 This rescue stressed me out but I'm glad you were able to get one of them rescued! 😊👍
Good work as always. It must be extremely difficult with all those young ones running over the stones under your feet.
Arggghh... running on rocks!!! Stay safe guys. I'm afraid to watch. Thanks OCN!
You guys amaze me with every rescue. Not only to you have to keep your eye on your target but you also have to play "dodge the stampeding, sometimes biting, seals" AND scan for possible other entailed seals as well. Just amazing. Keep up the fantastic work you do.
Красавчики!!!!!! Молодцы!! Спасённых становится всё больше и больше!!! Это очень радует!!!!!)
How the heck do you guys not get bitten on the ankles running through all those panicking critters!?? Looks highly dangerous to me. :-O

I have often wondered this myself how do they not get their feet and ankles sped up
I hope Denzil didn't hurt whith the sharp stones!! it was a great rescue, poor little one, you are free now to care for your babies.... thank you OCN!!!
I hate to see you in such dangerous situations. The aggressive seals and in this case those slippery rocks. Be careful out there, be safe. You're all doing such amazing work and we really appreciate it!
May Almighty bless these gentlemen 🤲🤲🤲
Careful on those rocks, guys.
Slippery rocks always make me a bit nervous, like an accident waiting to happen. Denzil looks okay this time but those duct-taped flip flops are dangerous at Cape Cross. Good job, guys. Thank you. Awww the pups are so cute.
Дай бог вам сил и терпения. 🙏🙏🙏
I would like to think that humans will evolve to the point where they no longer put the world and its species in danger, what is more likely is that the seals will evolve first to the point where they say "it's OK guys, it's just those cool dudes coming to cut us free!" Great work guys.
на такой местности можно не только переломать, но и шею🙄 ребята, вы там осторожнее!!!! ❤
Playing "Where's Waldo" gives you guys a workout!!

Wow, that's a lotta puppies! Those seals have been busy this year. 😉
So many little babies. You guys are relentless at least. You missed the original target and swiftly snatched another one. 🙂❤
Прекрасная работа!!!! Great job!!! Thank you so much 👌👍❤️
Like trying to find the proverbial "needle in the haystack." Great, great job!
So many young puppers!! It’s nice to see 💜
