Thank you for this video, it was a big help in repairing my own JBL Venue Sub10 which happened to have the same problem. Wanted to add a note here though: those two capacitors are actually non-polar, mine were still intact enough to read the labels, so that’s what I put back in there. Works great!!!

Thanks for the correction. My caps had exploded and could not be easily read!

Hi, I am trying to repair the same board, waiting for the parts to arrive. You’re video was very helpful in opening up my unit. The NP of C16/17 in the schematic means Non Polar, often used in audio.

It's been awhile, but I'm fairly certain 16 and 17 were polarized (although they were badly damaged so maybe they are NP). Good luck.

Hi. I have a HK TS-11 sub and I have this problem. When turned on, the blue light normally turns on and the beep sounds for 2-3 minutes and then disappears. Sometimes it helps to lightly tap the panel on the back, but it also helps for a moment. What could be the problem, can you suggest? What to replace? Thanks and regards

Impossible to say without a full teardown. There are two boards, a power supply and a HK control board which feeds the power transistors. Suggest you open up and check for obvious capacitor failures first (bulged or popped).

@@pescado99 I am asking because one user on YT told me to replace the elements called "Q501 and Q502" but it is always good to ask for other advice as well;) And as for your suggestions, what you wrote about is all nothing bulging and no burns can be seen, etc. e.t.c.

why does title say failed if it is repaired? ;-) I have exactly the same issue and will try to replace the 2 blown Elco's

I say 'failed' because the sub worked briefly during testing (although the green pilot LED didn't switch on and off), and then it failed - the same 2 x caps didn't fail again - something else let go. I managed to get it going again briefly, then it died again. So now it's sitting on my garage floor!

@@pescado99 thanks mate, there is another YT clip showing how to fix a TS11 : replace the 2 big resistors and Caps with higher wattage ones and put cooling on the 2 transistors in the blackened area .. .I'll start by replacing the 2 blown caps. see : kzread.info/dash/bejne/eqeupqaHZqu1c7w.html

Not sure. I'd have to open it back up - unless you can identify it from freeze frames..
