FAILED! Attempt to clean a Smiths Chronometric Speedo with Ultrasonic Cleaner

Failed attempt to clean up the speedo from my BSA B31, which turned out not to be the correct one for my bike anyway!
This is a S433/I/L and should be a S608/I/L.... not sure what the difference is though.

Don't mess with things that you don't understand. A good speedometer ruined.

The speedo was in bad shape to start with so nothing to ruin. These speedos work much the same as old pocket watches, which I have cleaned, repaired and got working before so I think I do have a bit of understanding. It's just a mechanical device, nothing to be scared about!
Wrong chemical.
