    In pretty happy with mine. The slide has great slide cuts that make manipulation super easy and the low bore access makes it easy to control recoil. I love the innovative VIS optic mounting system that allows a bunch of different red dot sights to be mounted without needing a plate. The trigger is pretty good, but I think Springfield’s XDM Elite is slightly better. Overall, a great pistol that is some serious competition for Sig.

    I bought the Echelon based on how it felt in my hand. A Glock 17 with red dot requires an angle in my wrist that is not natural/comfortable. The Echelon feels better, points more naturally. To me the Echelon is like a very upgraded Glock. I’m considering getting another one - just looking at holster options and its limiting.

    I don't find it to be as natural a pointer as a P10C, but the ergonomics are phenomenal. This pistol is Glock-like, but also borrows ergonomics from a Walther PPQ and a control group idea from P320. It really is an honest attempt to blend the best of what's currently available. It's an evolution for sure.

    It is definitely one of the best feeling/shooting duty pistols out there. You would have to spend north of $1k to try to get something that is objectively "better".

    This gun, like a 1911, made me want to be a better shooter. I know that may sound weird but maybe it has something to do with how easy it is to shoot. My 17 Glock that I have used for years always made me work too hard for sometimes no gain. The Echelon was rewarding to shoot.

    I totally understand where you are coming from! I EDC a G17 and everytime I shoot the Echelon I'm convinced I'm much closer to being a better shooter if I just put in the time. The pistol stays out of your way when shooting and for a plastic gun aids a ton in allowing you to accomplish marksmanship fundamentals without having to fight a bad trigger or weird ergos.

    the only con i can say with the echelon imo is the magazine catch. like since its notched in the front, the mag can wobble left and right. it doesnt affect performance ofc but its just my preference. wished they kept it two notches on either side like the hellcat

    I am not a Springfield fan and after they flopped on the prodigy I was very skeptical. I got the threaded barrel of the echelon and it is my favorite striker fired pistol to date. Now I have a Wilson SFX and 2 staccatos. I am more of a hammer fired guy but love this echelon.

    @@ARFCOMReviews I feel once someone gets a quality built hammer fired or 1911/2011 they don’t want to go back to striker fired. I keep a few strikers like my echelon because of less maintenance and to keep a bit of variety. They just don’t get much trigger time

    The thumbs forward grip without a gas pedal is pure imitation of form and serves no purpose. You might look cool for social media, but the thumb just floats impotently next to the slide as the muzzle flips. Not good. I love that the Echelon pistol provides an integrated, textured pad to rest the support hand thumb on. It's a great design that will FINALLY make the thumbs forward grip viable and superior in the real world (not purely competition).

  • @ARFCOMReviews

    @ARFCOMReviews

    A gas petal can help you maybe increase control like 5% IF you are doing all the other things right with your grip. Unless you are shooting a sub compact 10mm with an insanely high bore axis, there is zero reason the gun should be flipping around in your hand if you are utilizing a proper grip, gas petal or not.

  • @ajm2872

    @ARFCOMReviews Some muzzle rise is inevitable unless your bore is literally in line with your wrist. A "floating thumb" riding along the reciprocating slide does nothing to mitigate this. People who do this are imitating what they've seen competitive shooters do without getting any benefit from it. Like a guy driving a Volvo and flipping his fingers at imaginary paddle-shifters because he's seen pro-racers doing the same motion. With a subcompact, you run the risk of flagging your thumb; and with revolvers, you will almost certainly get your thumb slapped at the cylinder gap. The thumbs forward grip is fantastic when it has a purpose. I merely observed that the Echelon gives it a purpose.
