You can actually see a small amount of daylight from the boarding platform on the Waterloo & City Line at Waterloo, in the vicinity of the depot, where it's usual to see a train waiting to enter the platform, having moved there to reverse from the alighting side.

I don’t how often the tube gets a clean but in some places it’s not very pleasant. The Elizabeth line is a step forward with the platforms being gated as it were, it could reduce the amount of dust being absorbed by the passengers. I know every station is unique and it would be very difficult to make every station like that but it might be a good place to start. Also there’s a good number of stations that are outside as it were so they are probably not so badly affected.

I changed trains recently from the Victoria Line to the Overground at Blackhorse Road. The latter is in the open air, so no problem there, but I noticed the Victoria Line platforms there being a lot hotter there than they were in the 70's and 80's.

The local authorities are obsessed with vehicle emissions around London, but literally every time i take the underground, I come out blowing black, sooty snot from my nose (sorry, I couldn't think of a less gross way to say that! 👃🏾 )

I'm from a beautiful little village and community on the Shropshire/Powys border. I had to go to London for some work based training..never been happier to get back to civilisation. So grateful that my home is still pretty much as it was 70 years ago! The underground was hellish, people have no manners, it's like jumping on a slum train in the third world. Are we supposed to pretend that it's normal that 90% of the passengers don't or dont feel the need to speak English? I probably had one other native Brit on my carriage and she was a drunk as a skunk Brummie saying she was on a 'Leo Sayer' (all dayer).. absoluty hideous.

Also, the Arsenal station is NOT named after the football club - It's named after the Arsenal Munitions factory at Woolwich. That's why the team's nickname is The Gunners.
