Factory Fridays: Behind Nor-Tech's Trendsetting High Performance Boats - EP. 6

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

▶ Follow The Factory Fridays Series:
• Factory Fridays
In this episode of Factory Fridays, viewers can step inside the Nor-Tech boats manufacturing facility with series host Marilyn DeMartini and the President of Nor-Tech Boats, Trond Schou for a detailed, in-depth tour the company's boat building process and philosophy.
Nor-Tech crafts fast, stylish and luxurious boats that give owners and families happy memories on the water. For nearly 30 years this brand has been building high performance boats with an elevated level of craftsmanship and great attention to detail. Every stage of the boat building process is meticulously managed. All boats are designed in-house with a a lamination process that utilizes traditional open-molding process without the use of any water absorbing wood. High density foam, kevlar and carbon fiber are interlaced into the fiberglass with a heavy duty reinforced transom. Everything is done on site from the carpentry shop to upholstery and paint.

I work on Nor-tech's day in and day out, as well as other boats from various manufacturers, hands down the rigging in a nortec is absolutely amazing and I give all my respect to the team involved in making such a wonderful product that is technician friendly, as a marine technician nothing is more frustrating than trying to squeeze into the smallest of areas to gain access to something that is as important as a fuel filter. I feel that Nor-tech's team truly understands that and it makes working on and maintaining these performance boats a huge benefit for the owner of a Nor-tech. So anyone in the market looking to purchase a Nor-tech I suggest you keep this in mind that whoever you have maintain your boat can do their job quickly and efficiently to get you back on the water as soon as possible.

I had a friend that worked for Nor Tech for a while before going out on his own and he has a great respect for the owners. Unlike most they started from the ground up doing everything and haven't lost touch with what it truly takes. Very few decisions are made from a pencil pushing point of view unlike most big companies these days. They truly focus on quality and it's not unheard of for the guy in the video to jump in and help the employees. Granted it's been 10 years since my friend left but the last project he was involved with was one of the 80's they built and the owners were very hands on with those boats and have actually sent several serious customers my friends way since they don't have as much time for such projects these days.

I can’t imagine if you didn’t build a few Cats each year for the Miami boat show that they wouldn’t sell! The 4400 Roadster is still one of the best looking Cats today. And one of the only Cats with a Cabin.
