Love how transparent Lotus have been in regards to this car's road to production, and doubly so given what a difficult period it's been recently in the world of manufacturing. @@Turbojetkart Very sorry to hear that. Matt Windle appeared on the last Emira video on this channel and was openly discussing some of the difficulties impeding this car's release. It's unfortunate that Lotus hadn't been in direct contact with early deposits such as yourself about these matters, although given the recent state of the European economy I suppose it's fairly expected that a relatively low-volume specialty automobile might end up running into production delays. I hope it ends up being worth the wait for you, as the car still looks fantastic.

The British motoring press' willingness to call a spade a spade over the years is exactly what's made their feedback so valuable and their editorials so compelling. I hope they never change, but admittedly it does lead one to wonder what could have been, had they managed to avoid engendering cynicism in their storied home brands on so many occasions.

It's interesting how the brand carries such cache for old guys like me who have been in love with English sports cars since childhood. It's a LOTUS. We are all so pleased that the company is doing well and carrying the tradition. Ferrari and Lambo will always be in business as long as the wealthy must have toys. But for Lotus to be Lotus, there must be drivers who love the traditional ethics of the sports car.
thanks geely for saving lotus
I love seeing how excited you get about your cars, just like most of us do. So over the endless list of KZreadrs who spec amazing dream cars only to flip them and quickly move on. Also, I agree with you about all black wheels. Love your channel, cheers from America!
It's great that when you consider the cars Harry owns and has owned in the past, that he's clearly still so excited to collect the Emira. Lovely spec too - nice one Harry!

I wonder why except it being a British sportscar. It’s neither particularly pretty, fast nor exciting.
Harry’s pacing around like a caged lion, the excitement is palpable!
It says a lot when someone that is so well versed in automobiles chooses a specific vehicle. Harry drives every kind of amazing super car that you could imagine and the Lotus has stood out enough to him that he ordered one. I have put the Emira on the wishlist, as it is fairly affordable and drop dead gorgeous! I’d have the blue though. 😁
The fact that Harry is still like so many of us that get really excited to pick up a new or old car is infectious 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I worked at Lotus as a GM project manager on the VX220. Harry parked virtually where I parked every day. But I think the fact that you could buy 4-5 of these for the price of a 296 should not be forgotten!!

Happily, they're going to sell a ton of these and if they do it right they're going to have an opportunity become more of a "real" manufacturer in terms of public perception, and that will pay dividends with SUV sales and future models. This is SUCH A WELCOME departure from all the "high energy" youtubers who are practically SCREAMING at the camera talking so fast to keep their video "exciting". The excitement and giddiness is palpable on Harry's every movement; such a joy to watch and so much more relatable. For everyone born before 2000, thank you for your mature documentarian approach. Enjoy the new whip!
Wow perfection spec, so good to see a sports car WITHOUT BLACK WHEELS and an enthusiastic interior colour scream

Lotus knocked it out if the park with the Emira. I hesitate to imply a car that’s slightly sub $100K inexpensive but in today’s world where new Supercars are 3-4-5X the price and pickup trucks are easily the same price I guess I have no choice than to call it a screaming deal. Good on you Lotus! What a stunning car!!
I think this car is absolutely brilliant, the gear change as you mentioned just looked superb. Congratulations Harry, this car is more exciting than most things on the market today. #savethemanuals.

Looks beautiful!👍 The running in advice is pretty much the same as what you get with modern bikes these days, although a I'd be tempted to do an oil+ filter change at 1000-1500 miles rather than wait 10k but that's just me. What can you say about the engine other than it's a Toyota, 'nuff said.👍👍👍😀

Magic moment. Bringing Harry into the same room as his new covered car and then dragging him off to the factory though? That's like showing the kids under the tree on Christmas Day and then saying, "Right kids, let's go for a trudge in the woods." NO DAD, I want my PRESENTS
Congrats to Harry, nice to see you supporting a great British car brand. Big believer in the benefits of running in a new car even though most don’t have the patience but then I tend to keep my cars longer than most. I would swap out the engine and gearbox oil at 1000 miles personally. Lotus used to have running in oil that allowed for just the right amount of wear to bed everything in but it needed replacing at 1000 miles. I’d be interested to know what has changed.

Exactly what I thought when I saw the 10,000 mile oil change intervals in the book. That's already standard in automotive but thought that Lotus as an enthusiast brand would recommend oil change after run in period. But all in all it's Toyota engine so it'll probably be reliable either way.
