I'm trying to parse this run with almost no context. This is disgusting. Using burner inserters on the bots and roboports (around 41:38) to set a limit on how many are made, without fiddling with circuit conditions. Meanwhile, RCUs are created using an inserter train to move items quickly, and a giant circuit abomination that prevents assemblers from picking up ingredients until it's done crafting, perfectly designed to fit in the available space between builds, to ensure the correct number are produced. Brilliant, and disgusting. This is an incredible use of the available resources, map seed, and game mechanics, to save every single second. He's still using the burner miners in between pasting down half a gigawatt of coal powered steam for the bots to build. Blueprints swap regular belts for undergrounds so bots can place them faster, while coal for steel is simply loaded from inserters on belts because he knows how much coal is required to obtain the necessary steel. Every single belt is touching something else by the end. Small parts of the build are frankensteined together to create a single blueprint with mixed module production, LDS, plastic, a miner for coal, and a furnace for steel. It outputs onto a sushi belt with no circuit conditions, and is pasted over to change to speed modules for the rocket launch. The leftover steel is collected to construct the rocket. The madlad just pastes down like 50 advanced science assemblers so fast KZread compression turned it into 3 pixels, and triples the number of labs, with space for speed beacons. Robot frames are hand delivered to yellow science, and rocket fuel is set up only 14 minutes before the launch. Inserters are too slow, so the rocket is hand fed. Then, I'm sitting there watching him place beacons for the rocket silo, wondering where the concrete is to craft the silo. Did I miss it? Nope. He immediately says "okay, I've got to start concrete", right as he cuts off the belts to the science assemblers. He's pulling iron ore off the belts with the rocket already 40% done, as he's repurposing the electric engine assemblers and upgrading science to red belts for those extra few seconds. This speedrun is so optimized. Incredible. It's simply disgusting. This puts every single one of my blueprints to absolute shame.

Like how fast and precise you need to be, even with the 2 binds for rotating it is insane to me, not to mention the fucking built in ruler in your eye like some fucking terraria accessory that allows you to see the grid and place belts perfectly 11 spaces apart, this shit had me doubting my ability to make a red science factory. holy shit how insanely good can people get, you are an absolute menace edit: ok, i just witnessed him rotating 2 inserters twice while placing 4 other inserters at a speed of 110km/h, im done edit 2: nvm i just realised you can place an inserter on another inserter and it will rotate it haha 24:12 - audio started lagging, game couldn't keep up with this man

Goddamm that placement was clean, it felt like watching a TAS.

I really Think that factorio speedruns are the best and most impressive speedrun. There are for Sure more difficult and speedruns of Other games that require mutch more frame perfekt Inputs and stuff like that and have really hard Skips. But nothing sends chills down my spine like this dude doing 50 things at the same time and creating Total and pure Chaos just for it to turn out just right in the end and reveal everything to just be one big piece of Art. Living breathing sience creating and most importently game winning art

Gongrats! - At 1:04:16 when you fixed a mistake with underground pipes and labs, you accidentally(?) also deleted the sulfuric acid mainline. Wondering how did the blues not run out of acid... Maybe the little left in the pipe was able to feed them since they don't need that much?

Yeah that was a dumb mistake for sure. Someone even pointed it out in chat and I didn't understand what they were saying. It turned out to be OK because of pipe buffer yeah. Each blue chip only needs 5 acid and each pipe can hold 100, and there are 11 pipes per mixed lane for a total of 110 pipes or up to 11,000 acid stored on the 'correct' side

Thanks for reply. Run the numbers and that was a super close call!! You only had about 16 minutes worth of acid in the pipes and the run was over in 15 minutes. Nice.

It's basically entirely memorised. The lineups, the pathing, the crafting queue, the bot queue, the mall pickup amounts, the times to feed burner city, the research queue etc. All of them are the same every run ideally. So the challenge is to replicate the sequence of actions as perfectly as possible! There are very small improvisations in there especially in the last 20 minutes but it's very minor.

It's a set seed with very specific ore generation settings to have really good iron and copper, but it was a seed that was found, not custom made

Ore patches are rounded so it would be hard to line up, and you need way less than 1:1 coal/ore drills. You'd also still need to fuel the ones on the coal patch and burner drills become obsolete pretty quickly, so not worth trying

Yeah I limited the map size on purpose. It allows me to print the iron miners for the outpost (around 45 mins) without ghosting too many (using the relative snapped blueprint, you would get 4*8=32 miners, too many!)
